I specifically enjoy going to Rockies games because they take a little longer and allow me to fully enjoy several hours at the ballpark. People don't always arrive right on time. Some people have to leave early. A 2 hour game doesn't leave a lot of room for error like a normal baseball game. We shall see if it is an actual issue or hardly noticeable.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I never miss more than a single batter to take a piss or get a beer. Adding 50% more time commitment with 0 extra plays would be awful
A day at Ball Park is for Sitting around drinking beers and hanging out. I don’t need a soccer game level quick.
I don’t think Nats Park is abnormally large - I know it’s not particularly crowded - but any time you get out of your seat it’s a half inning, probably a full inning for food. Do you exclusively sit in aisle seats at the top of a section and only get up to leave when the middle of the home team’s order is due up? Again, I’m not against the changes, but it definitely changes the impact of concessions runs.
idk I've been to 25 stadiums, at least half of them for sellout games, and this isn't a problem for me at all
I also watch way more games on TV and it's tortuous to watch slow middle relievers and fidgety batters. I don't think there should be a clock in the post season though, I like the drama.
1) I’m generally driving and no, the vendors don’t sell nonalcoholic drinks 2) If I am drinking, there is better beer on the concourse. So yeah I can choose not to be a snob but this increases the cost of that option.
would you object if I changed it to get food? I’m still scarred from a game when I was a kid when it was literally two innings in line for a grilled Dodger Dog.
I usually don't have to go through this effort, but my go-to move for World Series games is to get up when the second out happens in the bottom of an inning and watch the last out from the top of the section before going to get a beer/piss/both I think I may have missed five batters total across a dozen World Series games
A few stadiums do order ahead pickup now too. Concession stands have prepared for two-hour games for years, now we can just all sit back and enjoy it
I think the speed of the games will overcome any other shortcomings for me personally, though I don’t think this will ultimately make a noticeable dent in attendance/viewership one way or the other.
To me, shortening the distance between the bases by 4 inches and the limit on throws over are way bigger deals than the pitch clock. Maybe I’m being naive.
Since Covid I’ve never spent more than 5 minutes getting concessions. Download the stadium app, pass around the phone, when you get the text in 10 minutes, walk up, pick up, walk back. All 3 KC stadiums have an app, I’m sure every major stadium in the country does as well. Now taking a piss on opening day or going to the clubhouse store when the weather is shitty is another story.
sometimes. but that is not reliable at every park. and sometimes you want specific offerings that are found at different areas of the park. he isn't saying he is missing 30-40 mins for a single beer or piss break.
Sorry for intruding in the IRL thread, but trying to fill out one more spot for the TMB fantasy league and seeing if anybody was interested.

Draft date is flexible, just what it defaulted to when we renewed the league. As long as we get it done before Opening Day, we’re good.
Players since 2006 to hit at least .300 with 10 homers and 20 steals at AA at age 20 or younger: Trout and Jordan Walker
