Yeah, I’d have been fine with it. It just happened so quick. It was amazing. We had all the momentum, crowd was rocking, and we just gave it away.
we lost 6 times. It’s basketball. Everybody will have a “tough matchup” from time to time. There’s not a single team that doesn’t have any weaknesses. We win this going away if we shoot just 20%
At the end of the day, this is really what did it. Our best player was terrible. Couldn’t hit a shot and a lot of turnovers.
So frustrating because Miller had his worst game of the year and JQ had his worst in probably 5-6 weeks. And we still were close enough.
And I’ll keep harping on it. We had struggled to make shots most of the game, but we got up 9, and were playing elite defense. And then it was like we just totally cashed it in and they dominated us. Even with our shooting, we win that game if we play defense like we did the first 30.
if someone had to die that night, and it seems like that was the case, i'm glad it was a member of the party who was out hunting with their lights off rather than one of our players.
I’ll clarify that I am very much not anti-Nate. I think he’s the best guy for the program and has take us to a consistently high level we haven’t seen in a long time I do have questions about his style and his ability to coach against the style of basketball played by sdsu and ucla. I think it’s fair to wonder at this point and before some dumbass says I want him fired, I absolutely don’t and there are no other coaches I want
i was talking specifically to the person who told me to get out. But the responses to that are telling
The way the game was called favored SDSU for sure. Some tough calls down the stretch that went against us as well. Phantom foul calls and the jumpball was awful.
Yes and no. He didn’t do a whole lot when he was in. Had what, 5 points and 3 were in first 30 seconds? Defense could’ve been used I guess.
Good night, you cry worse than my 4 year old. Somebody told me to get out because I said I was glad the year was over. Waaaaaahhhh
but we knew coming into it that they’d play like that. It wasn’t surprising. We also knew that in the tournament they allow shit like that a lot more. Ucla did it to us too. At some point you have to figure it out and find a way to fight through it. We let their physicality dictate our shooting and it killed us. We rushed shots. Forced looks. We anticipated pressure even when it wasn’t there.
yeah, that was huge. we won several games this year when shooting bad, when the refs were against us, and both. pile injuries and whatever jq was doing on top of it and it was going to be tough. they hit just enough shots to move on, we didn't. sucks but it's called march madness for a reason. having a great season is difficult, winning the tournament even more so.
Very disappointing end. But still one hell of a season. I’ll remember this team fondly once the sting wears down. Huge offseason for Oats. Really needs to nail his coaching hires. This was a disappointing end to a great season. It sucks, but I’m afraid he can’t afford to have much of a step back next year after this exit if he wants to keep the fan enthusiasm where it has been this season. Doesn’t necessarily need to win the SEC again, but needs to be a top 3 team in conference or we can kiss that arena goodbye.
I genuinely don’t think we’ll ever win a title in basketball. I don’t know how much better we could expect to be than this team this year
Just about every single guy too. This team could withstand so much with individuals having off nights, but we got bad off nights from Miller, Clowney, and JQ. Sears played hard but couldn’t shoot. Nobody else, a Griffen or Burnett stepped up. Guard play was just really bad.
Id like to study what the fuck happened to Sears mid season. He went cold and never recovered my god.
our guards have been our weak link all year. We’ve usually just had miller put the cape on and he didn’t do it tonight
This team was good enough to win a title. It’s tough to win this tournament, very tough. I’m just more concerned that the program has now developed a history/reputation as being a program that chokes. We’ve done it under 3 different coaches now, including two good coaches who had teams that should’ve done better
The shit talking from opposing fans whose team did t even make the tournament or get past the first weekend is weird
