I agree. I think with Oats we will consistently be a team that can make it out of the first weekend. It’s just taking that next step and getting out of the second.
This year served as a reminder that the tourney is a crap shoot. As long as we have Oats we will be good enough to make the dance and at some point its about just giving yourself enough chances to get lucky one year and make a run
Thank you for the positivity. This Bama team got/had it but the hump gotta be taken care of. It was a great team we had... RollMFTide
If we continue to be a top 5 seed in the tourney and making S16 is the norm, we will get over the hump.
https://alabama.rivals.com/news/a-look-at-what-s-next-for-alabama-basketball-s-roster this one too please.
I just cant wrap my head around having a basketball program as horrific as Georgias and scrolling another (much, much better) program’s thread to talk trash
ALPHA DOG Much was expected from Carlsbad’s (Calif.) Julian Sayin and he didn’t disappoint. The Alabama commit was nearly flawless in each drill. He might be the most polished quarterback in the ’23 class. Mechanically, he’s very strong with a tight release and no wasted motion. He can throw in or out of the pocket and is very comfortable throwing from different arm angles in scramble situations. He has plenty of arm to get the ball deep and doesn’t need a big wind up or reset to get the ball down the field. There was some strong wind at times but he throws such a tight ball he had no issues ripping it through the elements. Sayin is already on the short list when talking about the top quarterback in the ’24 class and today was one the best performances we’ve seen from him.
Keef do they have the PA announcer give out the suicide prevention hotline number at the end of games at Stegeman? Maybe you wouldn't know.
Hasn’t been to the tourney in 8 years Last sweet 16 over 20 years Last regular season sec title over 30 years Last sec conf tourney title 15 years I know this is trolling, but come on dude. Irrelevant would be an overstatement for your program. You just had to hire Florida’s discarded sloppy seconds. But continue on my man!
To be as bad as they are with all the basketball talent that surrounds them… some people are saying what Georgia is doing is harder than actually winning.
I cannot imagine engaging with Georgia fans about basketball. Nate Oats has as many Sweet 16s at Alabama as Georgia has in the history of its program.
Love seeing us in these match ups. Good for experience and exposure. Playing legit basketball schools.
I don’t think the roster is that bad. Just needs a good transfer and we’d be pretty good again. Returning Clowney would be a huge help.
mac1 said... (original post) Definitely heartbroken with way the season ended. And as bad as fans feel trust me the players and staff feel 10x worse. Lots of movement going on behind the scene with roster management. Believe there are going to be some big surprises on who we sign and also some real tough decisions that have to be made considering current roster. I trust the staff 100% with the decisions they make.
That suggests that not all who can come back will be back. I think Chuck and Pringle are absolutes to want back. That gives us the basis for a strong front court. I also think Sears will almost certainly be back based on how well he played for most of the season and it’d be terrible precedent to drop a Bama kid who transferred here. Though I think I’d like to keep continuity and develop the rest of the guys, I suppose I could see arguments against everyone else on the roster that there are reasons to try to find an upgrade.
I wonder if Griff is back. He really didn’t take a step forward during the season like I thought he would. He’s still young and plenty of time, but it’s a possibility.
