I read this quote and it makes me think he might not telling the truth when he says 10x in the interview that he doesn't care about winning MVP. Or All-Defense. Or DPOY. Or any other award he wants to win.
I have zero problem with him caring. Reading the interview it just amused me how often he'd say "I don't care about awards" and the immediately jump to (paraphrasing) "I could have padded my stats for a triple double or score more points in a blowout against the Bulls, but I sat out the second half because I don't care about that stuff." And almost all those things were obvious shots at Jokic as a candidate this year and previously.
It's fucking stupid that he even feels like he has to say he doesn't care. I 100% believe however, that if he said he cared that would negatively impact him with certain voters. "Ohhhh Joel isn't a team player, he's about his numbers and awards derrrrp"
For the record the Sixers won like two more games than Denver last year. Also Jokic had more wins than Embiid if you limit it to games they actually played in. When people bring up the seeding from last year it's just so obviously disingenuous. The Sixers and Nuggets were basically identical teams last year. East was just weaker at the top than the West. The criteria didn't change, it just would have been dumb to factor in seeding in that case.
well it was mentioned ad nasueam that he went to the "Lebron James" of foot doctors so this totally tracks
Didn't Dirk get similar advice, played through injury, and now he can barely walk or is that fake news?
Idk about Dirk but that absolutely happened to Kevin McHale; and he deserves the pain, the Trump loving piece of shit that he is. That banner will hang forever though.
If the nba allows pat bev to do the too small taunt, they should absolutely allow a Laker to punch him in the face without repercussion.
Quite literally true, as the NBA always just throws out my mail in ballot without including it. Those dicks.
philly has lost 3 of 4 and has a pretty tough closing schedule (eight games left and half are against denver/milwaukee/boston/miami). they were riding high like 2 weeks ago.
this isn't quite as bad as what they were running out at this time last year, but that's only because i like watching sharpe more than simons. and sharpe is somehow -17 in the 2nd quarter
I would gladly attend a Nuggs game with those established gentlemen. We'll go together and get the Tiktok haircuts before the game too.
portland has 35 points at the half. kevin knox and cam reddish have combined for 17. sharpe somehow has 4 fouls
