I guess the moron shooting his way in triggered alarms and lock down then saved dozens of lives. Wonder if the six killed couldn't get into a locked room. Absolutely devastating. I can't comprehend murdering innocent children.
"We can't talk about politics and gun reform this close to a shooting!!!!" -GOP (who will weaponize race/religion/sexuality/gender after any incident. But guns!!!)
These people are so insane they probably would. Steve Scalise was badly injured and nearly murdered and still repeats the same talking points.
yeah man if I l had lost a kid yesterday I’d probably make sure that guy feels the accuracy of that statement
If a grown ass man refers to his father as “daddy,” there is a non-zero chance he diddles little boys.
Looks like so much of the response in this situation was really good. School was locked so shooter had to force entry, gave time to activate alarms and get people to safety. Police response was quick and lethal. And yet 6 innocent people, including three precious children are dead. Shows you can have all the precautions in the world and if someone has high powered weaponry, it’s still incredibly difficult to prevent them from killing. You can slow it down, but usually not stop it. Yes we should take precautions and invest in them, but if we actually want to try and stop this, at a minimum we have to try and get rid of these high powered guns and make it much more difficult to acquire guns in the first place.
Girl that received those messages did everything right. Called the suicide prevention line and the Nashville PD within 15-30 min of getting them and it was still to late.
Don’t know about the twitter account but the messages are reportedly real. https://www.newschannel5.com/news/s...ge-from-the-covenant-school-shooter?_amp=true
It’s a hate account. It takes 30 seconds to vet, yet the same dumbasses on this site repeatedly post shit like that instead of taking another 15 seconds to find a legit source like you just did. It’s infuriating.
My bad. I didn’t check the account. Saw that same combo of pics in a tweet but my timeline refreshed. Saw it again but didn’t pay attention to the account. I was posting for the note part specifically. Def not to shame the girl who received the messages. Not my intention. Found it interesting that someone claims to love a person so much then commits a mass murder. It would destroy the person they love. They’ll forever be associated with the killer. Will likely have their life publicly torn apart. Have life-long mental scars. Not to mention, the numerous police interrogations. But it’s futile to try to understand delusional thinking.
The response to the trans community is going to be so bad. It's going to get even worse for them than it already is.
Sigh Patton said she called the Nashville Davidson County Sheriff's Office at 10:13 a.m. to make them aware of the situation and was instructed to call Nashville's non-emergency number. “I called Nashville's non-emergency line at 10:14 a.m. and was on hold for nearly seven minutes before speaking with someone who said that they would send an officer to my home. An officer did not come to my home until 3:29 p.m.," Patton said. Patton said she wanted to come forward about this circumstance because she believed more urgency should have happened when she reached out to officials for help.
A kansas gop representative had his own kid decapitated by a water slide, a water slide *texas* rejected for being too dangerous, and he refused to state that regulations would have saved his kid's life
Always remember to lock the side door, especially when a shooter can just shoot their way through the glass doors with high powered rifles. Fucking former FBI agent chud.
I'm pretty cynical and nihilistic and I don't think there's any hypothetical for these gopers to ever change. I don't waste mental bandwidth thinking about it
In fairness to dispatcher and cops, they’re often overwhelmed with calls, especially in a large metro, and it’s not surprising it would take some time to address, what probably seemed in a triage, as a call that didn’t necessarily require immediate police assistance. You’d like for the response time to be faster, but man, I don’t know if that’s realistic when it doesn’t sound like there was even a generalized threat to hurt other people.
Of all the shitty things about Ted Cruz’s take, maybe the worst part is that this was a private school. It wouldn’t have been covered by his bill anyway. Nor would his daughters’ private school here in Houston (where the movie Rushmore was filmed). What a cynical politicization of a tragedy EDIT: It now looks like you were referring to the Tennessee congressman saying they're not going to do anything about it, but the point still stands.
I was wrong but I’m also sick and tired of taking the moral high ground while children are being butchered.
They're good at handing out speeding tickets and shooting minorities but nothing we can do about this legitimate threat to the public.
Yeah I don't really get the morality police finger wagging when people are constantly feeling like nothing is worth doing when politicians like this stop us from saving children's lives. At the very least those politicians shouldn't be drawing air into their lungs.
One group is making money off the deaths of innocent citizens that they're sworn to represent. I think they're a long way from gaining the moral high ground
I could tell a doozy of a story that's going on right now with a relative who was murdered but I have an unusual last name and would basically dox myself if I posted it.
You don’t get finger wagging over saying maybe it would be a good thing if those people’s children were slaughtered too? Really? If you don’t, forget moral high ground, you have no morality at all.
Suffice to say the maga mouthbreather side of my family is finding out the hard way that if you aren't rich, the cops don't give a single fuck about you -- won't even follow up on a missing persons report or properly investigate a crime scene.
Who fucking cares? Why waste your breath about some bullshit like moral high ground? What a dumb thing to care about in a mass shooting
Did I say it was a good thing to wish death on those politicians kids? What I am explicitly saying is that every single day we're reminded how the GOP is literally helping kill people through legislation and inaction on things like simple gun control, and every single day I come closer to understanding how a huge violent backlash happened under The Terror in the French Revolution. I know you're like the center left poster that thinks slow legislative change somehow will save the world from burning us all, but there are those of us who have kids of our own and are being left with little choice on what we think will save their generation from having an absolute hellscape of a political system.
Lol, why comment on what somebody said in this thread? Really? It’s a message board, it’s literally what you do.
I'm not sure it's much better for people with money and political contacts - for that specific instance.
I feel pretty confident that these politicians love guns more than their own kids. Can anybody name a single gun dork Republican who would come out in favor real gun legislation with teeth if they had a personal loss? I can’t. Their own dead kids wouldn’t make a dent, so it’s kind of a pointless discussion, imo.
Only GOP politician of any statute that I can remember trying to do anything on this issue was Pat Toomey, and even his efforts were fairly feeble.
