best way to do this would be to throw a shit ton of money at the youth level in the us and actually make the sport accessible for most to play
I could not watch a single game of hockey for a year and step in and put this pens team in the playoffs.
The race for the right to play Boston in the first round seems to be one that many teams want to lose.
i was just joking but do you know what sports curses are? How many Stanley cups since they let fleury go? the bambino curse, the flower curse. Montreal is also cursed since they left the forum where all the ghosts were.
it’s not even that discussion I am trying to have. It was the right move at the time. Just a tongue in cheek comment.
Seems like looking back he was actually underrated in Calgary. Fair to wonder if he was the guy that stirred the drink more so than Gaudreau. Hasn't even played with Barkov that much this year, either.
honestly if we were to combine the rosters I bet it'd make a pretty strong 6 seed that could prob push an opening round series to 6 games
Drury is really trying to thread the needle of re-signing all the kids and keeping one of Kane/Tarasenko. And it’s possible if they sign bridge deals and Goodrow is moved. Miller’s contract is the big elephant in the room though.
What’s the end game here for those families? Presumably those kids werent good enough to get drafted. So they bribe teams to draft them and??? Watch them ride the bench?
I assume it’s a combination of deluding yourself into thinking your son just needs a chance and also the social status that comes along with your kid getting drafted when you’ve been existing in those crazy youth hockey circles for years.
My guess is that they just want to assure them a spot on the team and hope they develop better. Or they just want to brag to their friends that their kid made it in the ohl. It’s absolutely ridiculous to me, but It’s hockey in Canada. Toxic
I watched the latest Wu-Tang episode during this game and still have never been more bored during a game than Isles-Caps May also be first home game in Caps history without a penalty, refs bet the under
I mean, you are responsible for your own stick, if you drop your stick “accidentally” and it immediately trips an opponent then I have no problem with a tripping call.
1. That isn’t the rule 2. The stick was knocked out of his hands and kicked into the path of the leafs player by another leafs player. 3. The ref called holding because he realized that he can’t call tripping on that play with a straight face.
That was an awful goal though, it happens. Had no idea he was doing good lately, I was assuming the panthers issues were goaltending. I kind of checked out on the season like I always do but mtl being out makes it even worse. can’t wait for the playoffs though
Yep, they skate circles around the Rangers, particularly in the neutral zone. That and their 3rd line is one of the few in the league that not only neutralizes, but destroys our Kid Line. If we had a Xs and Os coach or played with some sort of structure, the Rangers could make up for it. But Gallant.
