Any tempo advice? Coming down pretty steep and I think it’s from rushing the down swing, any suggestions?
Trying to work on this too. My swing is so good when I pause at the right position at the top and then fire the lower body. Contact can get a little erratic when I rush things.
I would not consider it a controversial opinion to rate the oldest golf tournament in the world as the #1 major
I think you could make a decent argument about the two opens being better than the masters. all three are miles better than the pga
right. It’s 1a 1b 1c in pick your own order according to your own preference. And then PGA at deep 4th.
Been to all of them a few times and this is how it is for me could move USGA down a few pegs depending on venue but their new leadership has them on the up
1A: Open Championship at St Andrews 1B: Masters 2: Open Champ 3: US Open 4: PGA Ole Zach Johnson of all people with the 2 greatest major wins.
SportsIllustrated has been a mouthpiece for LIV. Hard to know whats accurate when reading through all that and whats propaganda. Clearly some reason for that article coming out now. But, like a Conference Exit Fee, that price tag would come down in litigation (idk how english courts work tbh).
Masters is the A number 1. Anyone else can fuck off. The Open is easily 2. US Open is 2B. PGA is like 7.
Top spot is close. As an American, it's the Masters. From a global perspective, it's the Open Championship.
Guess it’s time to join the nest. Was gonna get the new NLU pullover. Logged in at 11:05 and sold out in my size
I rejoined the nest the other day when I saw the masters cup stack shirts were being released to nest members first.
Also got word my young hitter from Birmingham Gordon Sargent is playing with JT, Spieth and Homa on Monday practice round.
Wife and I are doing a London + Edinburgh trip over Memorial Day and I’ll have a couple days for golf. I was reading that getting tee times has been a mess over there with all the make up trips still happening, but I got a confirmed tee time for a single on North Berwick. Unsure if I’ll be able to make any of the St Andrews courses work for this trip though as I don’t have a ballot buddy (yet) for the Old, and the singles queue would be tough to swing unless we stay a night or two up there. They also don’t let singles get advance times on any other courses until 24 hours ahead, so it seems like that kind of needs to be a trip of its own
Even getting a single at North Berwick right now is a big deal. They’re booked out until end of next year at this point. If you need someone to enter the ballot with, this service tries to match folks up… https://gingerbeergolftravel.com/st-andrews-old-course-single-golfer-ballot/ Separately, finally got confirmation on my St Andrews Links Ticket after 5 years on the waiting list as an overseas member of a local club. If anyone is headed over there and wants access to a local club clubhouse for beers/locker room let me know.
Have you played Gullane or Kilspindie? Both courses have tee times available to book online on the other day that would be best for me, right now I’m leaning Gullane #1
I have not, though we did hit the town of Gullane when the Muirfield pro shop used to be off-site in town. Gullane #1 is an awesome bit of land and when we saw it, everyone was kinda disappointed we did 36 at Muirfield instead of one round at Gullane. Have never seen or been to Kilspindie.
