No problem. I’m just saying it’s quite clear Parker is overwhelmed as OC of a school like ND and we will be talking about his hiring like how we joke about BVG ruining our shot at a NC in a few years Certain posters still think he has a shot at succeeding - which is fine! - and I’m rooting for them, but there’s no evidence to support he will be even average as an OC. Our beat essentially acting like they watched a massacre today (James tweeted the big pile of shit from Jurassic Park as the analogy for todays offensive performance) should probably prepare folks for what’s to come this fall, but I’ll leave it to each of us to see the light soon on just how poorly this hire set back the program Think our offense has a chance to be damn good in like 2026 when Carr is an upperclassman when we get a new OC tho, so I’m still all in on the program EDIT: I actually thought this was a funny April fools against nilhists like me until he was like "nah, this was really awful"
Another safety from Texas (Robdog_5) that is really good. Fast, loose hips, not afraid to come downhill, good ball skills. Seems really underrated.
It’s entirely normal for the defense to be ahead of the offense at this point, in fact they should be practice reports basically said qbs were rushed and receivers dropped balls relax
Parker was in a position with a dog shit head coach and has more experience at this point than he did then. To suggest that a coaches career is doomed from that point is stupid.
After reading the recaps and listening to D3 Tyler Horka who works for a clickbait company seems to have gone the clickbait route relax
Ummm. Ok. Hyperbole and conclusion jumping with close to zero evidence confirmed. By the way, the opinion on Ludwig from a lot of commentary from other fans who've watched him more closely pretty much matched yours on Parker. For that matter, a few years ago a lot of the same things were said about Tommy. But now he's on "the list.' Which was a pretty laughable list. Have you heard any more detail on why the offense was a pile of shit according to Tyler James? It was the DL whipping the OL and WRs dropping a lot of balls. Fucking Gerald Parker's at it again. It couldn't be more clear that he doesn't have the juice. I mean, you can tell from all the games and practices we've seen. Wait. He's had like four practices with this offense? Couldn't be more clear! By that, you mean he wasn't on the lists of OCs you knew nothing about before a beat reporter put said list out. Go ahead. Jump.
Apologies for the buzzed posting - will endeavor to #PostBetter and not bring in as much negative energy. I was just triggered after the one open practice all spring seemed to look like a shit show I do stand by that its embarrassing we ended up where we were with a guy who wasn't even getting buzz for low level OC jobs, and nothing ramps me up more than relationship hires. In a year where even Dabo said "f it, we need to get modern and I need to dump my buddies" and hired the best OC in college football, we entrenched in with a contact of Marcus' with no major OC experience. It would be a shocker if we don't lose a game or two this year because of his inexperience - I'll just leave it at that.
On one hand, Parker’s pedigree - or lack thereof - would suggest there’s a small chance he has large success as NDs OC. We’ve seen this song and dance at ND before and it very, very, very rarely works out. Harry Hiestand maybe being the lone exception. That said, it probably doesn’t make sense to jump to conclusions 3 Spring Practices into his tenure. I’ll hold judgment at least until the Ohio State game.
One reporter portrayed it that way. The others acknowledged dropped passes and the OL getting beat (which happens every spring to every team) but none of the others portrayed it that negatively. In fact, they've been positive in general over what offense they've seen. But, that's the one that fits the narrative so go with it.
That's what bugs me the most. We went with the Tobias Funke "but it might work for us!" strategy of hiring this role after whatever the hell happened with Klein / Lewis / Ludwig, and he was part of an offense that severely struggled against some weak teams and still got promoted. But you're right, I should give it a shot (non-sarcastically)
On one of the briskell pods from yesterday it sounded like he said it was confirmed that Lewis is moving to safety, which would be a good thing
Lol so that Lyric chick that has done in Stadium hosting stuff for ND is on American Idol. She’s not very good but, Go Irish!
Lewis is still at CB. Driskell and his guys who work with him just feel Safety is an issue and Lewis can fit in there
He's never been at safety so not sure how they'd know other than protecting. Either way He's the 3rd or 4th could be 5th CB if Gray is as good as they say. I'd try to cross train him. Safety isn't in a great position of health right now
Hot take- the ND staff has told the beat to cut the shit with the recruiting takes. The entire beat is being so guarded with recruits this cycle
we're going to have a lot of time to bitch about a lot of different stuff as summer opens up. let's do what we do (almost) as good as anyone - offseason titles.

An update came out on Brady Dunlap, and it doesn’t seem he’s considering ND anymore. Has visits lined up to St. John’s, Michigan, and Villanova but no mention of ND
Penn State now has just two scholarship players on the basketball team. Coach Rhoades grew up 5 minutes from me so I’m rooting for him but it’s crazy to think you need to recruit an entire team.
This is the new normal. Most teams have 5-7 positions to fill yearly with every non starter hitting the portal. Coaching changes are even more transfers.
It's hard to get that worked up over basketball with this trash tournament when like the 20th best team in the country is fighting the 40th for the same end goal as we are chasing Bama and Georgia for in football.
