Sounds like NCAA and FBI both poking around...there's no telling what other atrocities they'll find in that athletic department. In either case, I'm calling for a complete shut down of Iowa posters until we can figure out what they're up to over there. https://www.on3.com/college/iowa-ha...eld-out-due-to-potential-gambling-violations/
many are wondering if this involves point shaving for Iowa football to hit the under. I'm not saying it's true, but Spencer Petras was seen driving around Iowa City in a new Hellcat Charger last week.
If the Tommy Rees hire wasn’t enough evidence that Bama is dropping its standards, this certainly solidifies things.
How are rules being broken when everything is legal? Maybe they were shaving points. Taking the under is as much a betting lock as Globetrotters/Generals.
what psycho pays attention enough to anything going on in that state to actually notice something like this, there's got to be a better way to spend your time than this.
Is it weird at first I thought this would be a thread about viral videos from Iowa? Then got in and was like “oh yeah, the investigation tick tock saying”
So the last football game to ever be played at Kinnick stadium was an embarrassing 24-17 loss to a 3 win team that hadn't even been to a bowl game since 2016. Yikes.
Theoretically, could someone find the head coach of their rival’s phone number (in a minor sport), call them a day or two before the game, then bet $1,000 on said game? Sounds way cheaper than paying for NIL.
if this was 30 years ago you'd assume the mob was involved but now I feel like we're going to learn it was just a bunch of dumbass kids on these teams getting together and betting and tanking performances to try and influence the outcomes.
They weren't betting on their own games. I don't think it was like a point shaving scandal, just athletes not following the NCAA rules and betting on shit they aren't allowed to.
I'm surprised they were able to find those 170 wagers among the 500 million people who bet the under on an Iowa-Iowa State game.
In the case of the QB, the app showed the bets were coming from the dorms and places that had restricted access like the practice facility
How are they catching these players? They use a legal persons Id and credit card then bet on their phone? Just seems weird that if Bloms moms profile is doing some betting for less than $5000 over a few years that raises a red flag.
