1. It’s certainly possible, given he’s already changing election laws to allow him to maintain office 2. Florida is now a haven for shitheels, so the next ghoul to fill the void likely isn’t going to be any better and could be worse If actually personable.
Pretty much. Anyone that says they know what's happening/going to happen is full of shit. Nobody knows. I mean, USC and Rutgers are in the same conference.
the B1G territory is already full of politically backwards states doing all sorts of evil shit including Nebraska
Time to restate again just how uppity and cunty the B1G as a whole is and the value of being linked with other similarly uppity and cunty people in the future.
Florida State hereby rescinds its application to the Big Ten due to cultural incompatibility concerns
Genuinely asking, what money does Rutgers make the league that they wouldn’t bring in without them? Or by swapping in a larger profile school for them?
Greed seems to rule the day. Eventually I think the money will tighten and those at the top will boot those at the bottom, regardless of old time sympathies.
The NYC and surrounding markets on basic cable. Lot of cord cutters but NYC is a gigantic media market. Even if nobody gaf about Rutgers sports there it makes a difference in money because of network coverage.
Honestly, we will have moved on to being a full time herpetology/politics/culture board by then so no worries
I don’t have any numbers but this feels like the ACC/Boston College argument. I’m just not sure NYC would suddenly reduce its CFB coverage because Rutgers isn’t in the B1G. Fox is on cable packages anyway. B1G gets a shit ton of national games. I dunno, just curious. Rutgers may have a much larger media presence in the tri-state than I realize.
The Northeast corridor and California are massively important regions to the B1G in terms of TV markets, lucrative out-of-state student recruiting, and alumni fundraising. Same with SEC schools and the state of Texas. So I'd keep Rutgers and Maryland. Purdue, on the other hand...
This. We’re playing the long game. Football will soon go the way of the dinosaur. In the meantime we pump all that B1G money into the sport of the future- say hello to your Quidditch overlords.
Was going to post the same thing. It’s not what Rutgers and Maryland bring individually, it’s what they add to the Big Ten’s existing alumni and recruiting network in NYC—NJ—and DC Metro.
This thread is more fun when it isn’t a bunch of B1G posters smelling the farts of the wealthy pretending their conference prestige is about anything other then generational wealth pursuing further exploitation of free labor.
Make of this what you will, Fayetteville, NC Hampton Inn had multiple PAC chans showing olympic sports and no SEC network
in 20 years when the idea of cable is akin to how we think of dial up internet now, Rutgers will prob be gone
Anthropologists will compare the Longhorn Network deal to those discs that provided hours of internet time.
Fayetteville is the cultural hub of southeastern but not coastal NC. Don’t hold other places to that standard.
Moral high ground from the last state to recognize the emancipation of actually enslaved individuals. As for the farts, they just smell better with Rotel.
