I get there are stories, but it felt like too much time was setting up the Vince stuff. Seemed like ep 3 before we really got to Vince. I get there are people who don’t know the history but it felt like they spent too much time to get to the meat and if six is the Kissinger limit, no one can be more than six.
In no order off the top of my head Hogan NWO HBK Sgt Slaughter (thanks BTB) Andre on Hulk Stephanie/HHH Rock/Stone Cold joining Vince
Non regular here but I'm halfway through behind the bastards and those dudes are annoying as hell. Enjoying the content though.
I don't defend the WWE video game... its' been trash for years, so bad it wasn't even released so they could fix it. Stop lumping with Shawn the shill... thanks
It was a masterpiece. Not only do you flip the biggest heel in the business into a face, but you hotshot a semi-retired wrestler into an immediate world title program as a hated heel.
Another great turn was when Tommy Dreamer accidentally “blinded” the Sandman. And during Sandman’s retirement ceremony, he revealed he was fine and caned the shit out of Dreamer.
Some of these moments I wasn't alive for so they don't hit the same. I wasn't born for a couple listed so when I think of great heel turns obviously it's going to have some more recent stuff in it... just a few that stick out to me (couple already mentioned) Ciampa turns on Gargano Seth turns on The Shield Vince turns on Brett Stone Cold joins Vince Mega Powers Shawn on Marty Jericho on Shawn KO on Jericho Steph on Vince Owen turns on Brett Roman heel turn, aligns with Heyman
The immediate ones that came to mind were: Mr McMahon/Screwjob Michaels putting Jannetty through the window on the barbershop Austin teaming up with Vince Michael Cole teaming up with the anonymous Raw GM
I don't really play video games anymore (might try to get back into it when the new College Football game comes out), but AEW developing their own game and putting a wrestler in charge of it because he likes video games seems like a huge red flag. I assumed every other sports video game is just licensed by the league with no financial downside on their end. Maybe they bet on themselves and their loyal fanbase will pay off.
Much like economies, Meltzer’s ratings have suffered from inflation ever since Omega vs. Okada had their GOAT level match several years ago that he gave 7 stars too. Ever since then it’s been five stars handed out seemingly every week when it used to be a rarity
Roman gets cashed in on after a tag match with the Usos? The feud costs him everything? or maybe we go another 1000 days.
Can’t believe he did his brothers like that… Jay will fall in line… can’t see him doing Jimmy like that but he’s so mentally fucked up thanks to Roman.
When a woman gets over in the midcard of pro wrestling, she’s an awesome talent. They’re generally going against not so good talent (not a surprise considering how new modern women’s wrestling still is), and then given horseshit angles. If a woman hasn’t been in at least 5 random tag teams in like 2 years, can she even consider herself a pro wrestler?
Haven’t watched NXT was Waller always doing this or did they ruin him as soon as they brought him up to the main roster?
Is this WWE's thing now, just introduce new belts whenever they royally fuck them up? Can we expect new women's tag titles later this year then?
Bloodline stuff is great TV. Rest of the show is a tough watch. And read a report yesterday where they want to make Roman a monster babyface. Vince gonna Vince.
Just watched that reveal, with Triple H doing his usual "long winded say ten thousand words when fifty would suffice" promo, ending with a reveal that Roman gets a new "Undisputed" (haha Seth) title, and after all that, they lift the sheet and it's...the same butt ugly design but with more gold haha. Next time just have Roman come out wearing the new belt and have commentary make a passing reference if the alternative is the wrestling segment equivalent of a meeting that could have been an email
Another thing this reminds me of is current wrestling's over reliance on finishing moves to end matches.
Most of HBKs weekly stuff is terrible. He’s very much in the mold of 80’s Vince booking. They at least put on a fantastic PLE first one in some time. Waller is awesome. But this isn’t going to work on main roster
Doesn't WWE already have the KO Show, Miz TV, and Ding Dong Hello? Now they adding Grayson Waller Effect too? Seems a bit overkill for that type of thing.
