Between all the bullshit that people will spend too much time talking about, the difference is hill. I thought it at the time but the save on cousins changed things. If that goes in, it’s 2 goals where he’s way out of position and that could affect him. Instead, it’s been lights out since. Florida’s shooting hasn’t been strong (posts, blocks, missing nets) but hill, since the save vs cousins, is the difference. It does seem like tkachuk is getting officiated on reputation and not what’s actually occurred though. Doesn’t change the outcome due to goaltending if it’s just annoying when you see it. The “dirtiest” play in the game was the hit to the head of Gudas that may likely end his playoffs. Looked pretty bad and contact was straight to the head. Still think Florida can come back home and win though. One thing that will help is getting better matchups as the home team and trying to get the tkachuk line out there against other top lines instead of the more physical ones. That’s been a big matchup success for Vegas. With last change at home maybe Florida can coach their way into some added opportunities. But defensive depth is very very problematic no matter what.
Last change is going to have to pull a tooooon of weight. Forget which Stars poster was bitching about Seattle’s forward depth and blah blah all second lines (probably fucktx), but Vegas is way deeper in that regard. Vegas is just an incredibly complete team.
Vegas is really good but just think it was their time and not having to face a great team. and this shit ain’t over, just like 77% likely(how close am I on the haitur model)
Oh it’s a marginal thing. But top lines could just use any additional opportunities they can get while not having to match physical battles the entire time. Panthers really need Eetu back also as he was a forechecking menace.
I don’t think the Gudas hit was dirty. He was the one trying to initiate the hit and wasn’t expecting the reverse. I watched the replay several times and he was leaning into it, but I still think most of the contact was to the chest.
Awful contract. 8 years and nearly 8M for an oft injured diminutive winger who has played less than 1.5 seasons in the NHL and produced just .68 PPG.
Players should just start windmilling their sticks around. Inadvertently run into it and knock it loose? That’s two minutes for, uh, theft of stick.
He has not seen the puck well in the first 2 games, multiple goals (and a couple posts) where he's looking for the puck as it's past him.
Bob is human again, Hill has made some great saves (and got bailed out by the post in game 1). Last night was a shit tier performance all around with some absolutely atrocious officiating on the 1st 3 goals.
I mean, I'm not wrong, but keep being upset that the Leafs lost in 5 which is clouding your judgement in this series.
Honestly sports dont bother me like they did in the past anymore. The Tkachuk 5 min is called every time now even though most are clean hits. But you literally just complain about officials the entire time when most people realize that officials help you in some games and hurt you in others.
I acknoledge when the officials help my team. Look at my posting after the series clincher against the leafs. You are trying to rationalize a 2 and a 10 for a clean hit, but I'm the problem.
Provorov to CBJ makes no sense to me. He doesn’t fit their rebuild window at all. Shouldn’t be taking on reclamation projects atm either Like the jackets and Philly are basically in the same situation and one team wanted to get rid of him for a reason
this doesn't seem like a super exciting trade from a Flyers fan perspective but I guess that's how far Provorov's stock had fallen.
The only explanation I can come up with for CBJ is that they are hoping they can make him look like a good top pairing D again, retain salary, and flip him for picks at the deadline
I just don't really know what the Flyers got back in this. would have hoped for a flier of some sort at least. (no pun intended)
Fridge breaking this on a plane and everyone else trying to scramble to figure out the details has made this a bit confusing to follow.
