Tomorrow should be a great day to check in on LSU media. I've already gotten into an argument with a college friend who believes this is a step down for Denbrock.
It’s a lateral job for sure that would only happen in this odd set of circumstances where the dude is from Indiana and loves nd. Seems like you all will be happy with the Sloan guy Kelly will promote so maybe a win win.
We keep the jeweled crown designed for our gold plated statue of Mary in a church basement, it's damn time we spend like it.
to be fair It is a step sideways, but he is from around the nd area. LSU is a great job, if this happens it has nothing to do with lsu. It should not reflect badly on lsu is what I mean
It depends, if you like to be left alone and not work during the summer bk is your guy, if you want a head coach that will help you recruit the players you want then freeman is the way to go.
I think LSU's roster management and weak NIL infrascture puts them in a perplexing position moving forward.
Kelly will keep him in? Oh my he still believes that he can manufacture offense and that defense is just a player thing. Kelly hired Brian van gorder and kept him until the ad forced him to fire him.
you also had two weirdly down years for in state cruiting, not LSU cruiting but the actual players are meh
Drafted Kyren for $1 in my dynasty league and my friends just said “let him have him, it’s just another one of his ND guys.” I now have James Cook and Kyren for $4 on a $200 budget and will have both next year
I remember telling my friend how he should have been drafted higher and was going to be a great NFL pro. Had ample opportunities to draft him in my fantasy draft and did not. I have donkey brain
What did he run again, a 4,7? He is unusual but watching him play we all knew he was going to find success in the nfl. Honestly I thought he would be more of a role player than a 1b back. but not every back is a speed back. Some are just good at finding yards
I just hope you did not put 50 cents on jimmy Clausen a few years ago nowadays with inflation it is almost as bloated as his head was when he came to notre dame.
Had Kyren in my keeper league last year... didn't keep him. Picked him up on waivers earlier this season and he's saved me. Lesson learned
So last year Parker got the gig because Freeman knew it was too late to get who he wanted, and no use paying out the nose for plan C - so go with the guy you can replace in a year when you can get the guy you want. All it cost was Sam Hartmans year. Probably worth it, but not without risk
I truly believe Kyren could also be a pro bowler at safety, nickel, or receiver if he trained for it. A step faster and he could play corner and a few more inches and he could play linebacker.
Kyren is like the perfect McVey back. You are somewhat admitting that the scheme is doing a lot of heavy lifting with production - but he can run catch and block his ass off so you he can be available to the whole playbook.
This kid will either be a gigantic bust or a zealot crusader for the ND cause and absolutely nothing in between
If this holds, it's been quite a few huge weeks of progress for the program. Denbrock at OC. Golden at DC. Two seasoned coordinators for Freeman to lean on. Transfer portal gold with clear NIL dick swinging. Another top recruiting class. An admin that seemingly wants the program to be a real success. Freeman may be a young coach but he has shown a willingness to evolve strategies, learn from past missteps- all the while remaining tenacious and aggressive at his core. It's a promising sign and I think a lot of what we hoped for when he took the job.
