Democrats don't have much of a shot in Texas in 2024 (although a lot can change in an election year, particularly with 2 old guys). Trump won in 2020 by 5.5% and he remains extremely popular with his core voters. What's needed is something that would cause Trump's core constituents to stay home in huge numbers. That said, they (democrats) should definitely spend some money in that state; particularly in districts with competitive house seats. We're probably 8-12 years away from flipping enough of the demographic to move the needle to "toss up" but if you don't spend money organizing and helping down ballot candidates now, you're not going to be in a position to win when you do have better core voter numbers.
Texas has added like 3 million voter age people since then. They just aren’t as large of a Dem/Rep break as some thought (and most don’t vote)
So everyone is talking like it's a foregone conclusion Trump will be on the ballot, are we just assuming these criminal cases will be still dragging on? Im glad we waited 3 years to bring those, knowing he's literally the greatest legal bullshitter in modern times. It's just too bad there's nothing we could have done to prevent another 4 to 8 etc years of Trump, but alas...
Esp when there's an audio tape with him asking Raffensperger to 'find' 11k votes. We had a good run I guess.
There is nothing barring him from the ballot even if he's convicted. I am very doubtful the party would drop him regardless. If they did, they would lose a ton of downballot seats because his Qanon people would punish the party.
Georgia number 1 but we have every abandoned hotel below Macon filled to max capacity with migrants that some farmers have attempted to fucking sell.
Kentucky Republican Pushes Bill to Make Sex With First Cousin Not Incest Spoiler A Kentucky Republican has introduced legislation that would amend the state's law so a person who had sex with their first cousin would no longer be criminally liable for incest. House Bill 269, which state Representative Nick Wilson sponsored, was introduced on January 16 to the House Committee on Committees. According to the Kentucky General Assembly website, it would strike "first cousin from the list of familial relationships" defined as unlawful incest in the state. The amendment would also reduce the designation of incest by contact to a Class D felony for some cases "unless it is committed with a person who is less than twelve years of age," in which case it is Class C. Wilson, then a 27-year-old public defender, first shot to prominence when he won the 37th season of the CBS reality TV show Survivor in 2018, called Survivor: David vs. Goliath, before returning for the 40th season, featuring the winners from previous shows in 2020. In November 2022, Wilson ran unopposed for the 82nd District of the Kentucky House after Republican incumbent Regina Huff retired. Kentucky law states that a person is guilty of incest if they engage in sexual relations with a person they know to be "his or her parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, great-grandparent, great-grandchild, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, brother, sister, first cousin, ancestor, or descendent." The amendment introduced by Wilson, if passed, would remove first cousin from this list. It would also alter Kentucky law on parole for violent offenders to include a person "who has been convicted of incest by sexual contact" within the definition. Newsweek reached out to Wilson via email for comment. Wilson's bill was called "truly insane" by Eliza Orlins, a New York public defender who previously appeared as a contestant on Survivor: Vanuatu and Survivor: Micronesia. In a nearly two minute TikTok video, also shared on her X account, Orlins said: "Oh my God I've got some wild news...This news relates to David vs. Goliath winner of Survivor Nick Wilson, who then leveraged the fame he obtained from winning Survivor to run for Kentucky state legislator and got elected. "Nick Wilson is not only supporting but has introduced a bill that would reclassify incest in the state of Kentucky to not include your own first cousin. Kentucky, like so many other places, is facing a lot of issues, and this is Nick's top legislative priority." Orlins urged her followers to "reach out to anyone you know in Kentucky and tell them to flood his office [with phone calls] and make this story known." In August 2021, webcomic creator and YouTuber Christine Weston Chandler, also known as Chris Chan, was arrested on a charge of incest in Virginia and later caused a stir by stamping their feet repeatedly in court to disrupt proceedings. The case was dismissed in August 2023. French survivors of incest spoke out online in January 2021 using the hashtag #MeTooInceste after prominent lawyer Camille Kouchner alleged that her stepfather, a high-profile political scientist, sexually abused her as a child
can't decide if Alina Habba is a bonk for me or no. going to see if she has an IG, that will break the tie
she has an IG but no compromising photos and she references "Esq" after her name so that's annoying, the consensus is she would be a hate bonk
those of us who still post over at Tiger Droppings got you fam https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant...s-lawyer-alina-habba-at-mar-a-lago/110723743/
some dudes are hella toxic and weird. We’ve been taught sexual conquest over everything else. For example Britney Spears is clearly unwell. She posts some “crazy” video and and the reaction isn’t damn she needs help but “hey mentality ill woman show us your tits and I bet she is a good fuck cause she is mentally unstable”. This lawyer is a POS I can’t get past that. There is nothing wrong with admiring someone who is beautiful but using “sex” as a tool for violence seems something we should not do. “Hate fuck” seems like you want to commit violence against her.
Habba is a terrible lawyer and a worse human being, but is hot and I hate myself and my penis for knowing she’s a bonk for me.
The final two Republican primary debates in New Hampshire have been canceled. While four candidates qualified for the first debate, scheduled for Thursday (January 18), only Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he would attend. Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley said that she would attend the debate only if former President Donald Trump agreed to take the stage as well. Haley also said she would participate in a debate with President Joe Biden. Trump refused to attend the previous debates while maintaining a comfortable lead in the polls. "Our intent was to host a debate coming out of the Iowa caucuses, but we always knew that would be contingent on the candidates and the outcome of the race," an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement. "As a result, while our robust election coverage will continue, ABC News and WMUR-TV will not be moving forward with Thursday's Republican presidential primary debate in New Hampshire." The CNN debate, scheduled for Sunday (January 21), was also canceled after DeSantis was the only candidate to indicate he would attend.
Dudes being incapable of discussing a story involving women without telling other dudes about their boners on here is fucking bizarre. Like, it doesn’t matter what the woman is doing even a little bit, and a bunch of posters will trip over each other to tell them how much she makes them horny. So goddamned weird.
I probably saw it here but the photo transformation of her is crazy. Almost unrecognizable. The right wing pipeline for women is both insane and depressing.
Always thought the hate in hate fuck was more of a self hate since you find a piece of shit attractive. Learn something new every day, I guess.
“bonk” is a sophomoric way to say you think she is attractive but it isn’t what I mean. I don’t blame anyone who finds her attractive I’m mostly talking about the “hate fuck” stuff.
Yeah I thought it was just normal enjoyable sec but you hate yourself for doing it kinda thing. But I can see how there might be two interpretations out there especially when referring to someone you detest.
If abortion is the driver democrats need it to be in 2024, there is absolutely a recipe for Texas to be in play. It might also require Democrats to stop approaching Texas with half measures and making it an actual priority, considering depriving republicans of Texas’ electoral votes would be almost certainly fatal to republicans efforts to win the White House.
