But for real why would anyone with career aspirations take a job that will consist entirely of running the terrible scheme of an ancient imbecile and ultimately stain you forever?
This has to be Kirk’s ultimate fuck you on the way out. We all know he’s probably done in 3-5 so why not give the fans a on the way out. Fuck Kirk
If you consider what Iowa was prior to Fry, this would be considered 2 successful regimes. I just want to know what changed about Kirk from 2002-2006 to the current philosophy he is so stuck on.
Marcus Hartman of the Dayton Daily News assigned numbers for class rank and experience for Ohio State 2024. https://www.daytondailynews.com/spo...-number-this-fall/472PXR7ENRGYNFF3AJ2PMLAADA/ This is the most experienced team in the Day era and oldest since 2001.
#Penn State Nittany Lions some of you had a soft spot for Grant Newsome, if I recall correctly. He was named to OL coach today. So he continues to move up the coaching ranks
Very cool moment but the downside is they try to recreate this moment every five minutes in their stadium now and it loses its effect quickly
UCLA is an absolute mess. They signed 10 players in this recruiting class. They added 6 transfers. What are they doing?
That's appalling. I'll resist the joke about our sign-stealing being a threat to the health and safety of the players. Shit, I guess I did a terrible job resisting.
It’s a fair reminder that Michigan had to cheat to beat a team with no coaches and 6 walk on punters playing TE
I posted this in our team thread, but Chip Kelly basically has declared coaching bankruptcy. We’re watching to see if he becomes Day’s OC Plan B if O’Brien takes the BC job and Seattle doesn’t take him. Kelly coached Day at NH, coached with Day at NH, then took Day with him to stops at Philly and San Fran in the NFL.
Why would Kelly do that? Leaving UCLA to be an NFL OC is one thing. The guy hates CFB and hasn't been shy in saying it. Leaving UCLA to become a CFB OC is just throwing money away while taking a demotion to stay in the same sport you still hate.
It’s just speculation, but he seems to want out at UCLA and their AD isn’t the guy who hired him. Kelly gets $4.27 million if fired before 12/1/24, and nothing after that. Kelly owes $1.5 million if he leaves on his own.
If I hate my job enough to pay $1.5 million to leave it, I’m not going to go take a lower paying version of the same job. I’m just going to sit on my ass and be glad I had enough money to pay someone $1.5 million to not work anymore. Otherwise, I’m just going to keep showing up and doing a half assed version of my job and hope they fire me.
This is why, if Kelly wants to leave, UCLA waives the buyout fee. They are stuck with him doing a shitty job until December or they let him go without insisting upon the $1.5 million so Jarmond can hire his own guy.
I don't see what's in it for UCLA to waive that buyout. If they have to replace Chip now, is that really going to lead to a better scenario than letting it play out? Even if it tanks recruiting for a year with Chip staying, the chances of being able to hire someone you would be excited about long term feels pretty small at this point of the calendar.
I think that depends upon whether they hire from the NFL. I agree that they have missed the collegiate December/January hiring cycle and are better off waiting until 12/1/24 with no financial consequences to fire Kelly.
During COVID Mel Tugger was 2-0 against Jim Harbaugh, which necessitated the Michigan Football team’s cheating
But what I am saying is if Ryan Day was born on third base, Jim Harbaugh rode there on a used vacuum wearing spy glasses
Michigan basketball is like the warm up act for the headliner. We’ll laugh, but we’re really here to see the 2024 Michigan football offense.
