Lonesome Dove is the best book I've ever read. Gus McCrae one of the better literary characters of our day.
He’s the best. His son Curtis is carving a nice little niche out for himself too. His music is dark and funny as you’d expect. Tremendous guitar player.
Have posted this a few times in book thread. It's an interactive map by a Prof at UT of. Arlington. It's locations from all 4 books. Click on the Book titles. https://blog.uta.edu/travisc/research/larry-mcmurtrys-literary-geography/
The old folks like to whisper he favors your side in his face And when he gets a little older he’s gonna lead a merry chase
Disgusting https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/a45778385/chip-and-joanna-gaines-hotel-1928-tour/ It's clear that Chip and Jo worked hard to make the new additions to the space feel glamorously old, such as the three crystal chandeliers in the ballroom and the books lining the walls of the library. But they spent just as much time making it feel deeply Texan. The library books come from Texan author Larry McMurtry's own bookstore, which Chip bought near the end of 2022. Each novel was handpicked for the hotel for the sole purpose of adding more vintage character to the space. With many a board game at your disposal and a little shrine to the late author in the spacious reading area, you could easily spend hours soaking in the warm, pattern-mixing space that's nestled between two grand staircases, reading by the fireplace.
Max should make a Lonesome Dove with Matthew McConaghuey as Gus, Josh Lucas as Call, LaKeith Stanfield as Deets and Jared Leto as Jake Spoon
