A few weeks ago, we talked about how the average 3pt% across the league has been pretty standard for almost 3 decades. It's fluctuated less than like 2% since the 90s. Teams have remained as good at shooting the 3, they're just doing so more often. That means that variance where a team has on off shooting night leads to a much bigger point difference in the final outcome. There's absolutely a slippery slope where you change the 3pt line, there's a slight dip, but then the league balances out to shooting from that new line at the same percentage as before and you're right back where you started. I think as long as the league % remains balanced, only minor tweaks should be made.
I think the rule interpretation changes they made at the ASB improved the quality of the game a ton and I don't think they need to really touch anything. Other than maybe the off arm club offensive foul being called more often
This is actually is a major problem. Dudes just walking around fucking hitting people and somehow that’s called a screen
If Mosley could’ve finished those last few games with wins he would’ve had a strong case but they got it right with that. Wasn’t particularly close to me either
I don’t think anyone was coming close to the coach of the top seeded team in the best conference with the youngest roster
i know being the "if you watched him night after night youd appreciate him more" guy is a real dismissive wank move, but i only mention it because i was guilty of it in this instance but ive gained a ton of respect for that dude since he got here he busts his ass night after night, regardless of opponent (he was frequently the wolves best player against the dregs of the league) and doesnt stop running the floor, setting rock solid screens, or rolling hard to the basket even if he doesnt get rewarded for his effort with a pass. plus he never stops working defensively and rarely puts his teammates in bad spots on rotations chasing blocks hope he gets his flowers one last time before wemby rattles off dpoys until 2037
Gobert is a bit cringe and has had some blunders but otherwise he seems like an easy player to root for
Gobert was the victim of some all-time bad luck when he made an extremely ill-advised COVID joke before becoming maybe the most impactful positive COVID test in America. Like it was dumb to make light of it but that was still a terrible break for him to fucking have it at that exact moment
It's bad luck that the cringe thing he did at a time when very few people were taking COVID seriously coincided with the moment that everyone started taking it seriously.
Regardless it was a dumb gaffe and nothing more. But it became THE thing that people associated with him for like two years because it happened at such a pivotal moment and because he tested positive right after. That's bad luck idk what else to call it. I don't even like Gobert
Have never had any disagreement with you but his bullshit when a lot of the world was scared was not unlucky or whatever Think Diego Costa did same thing and met with same response, Donovan Mitchell certainly didn’t find the humor in it
I mean this is basically what I'm saying just minus the poor Rudy part. Everyone is an inconsiderate asshole sometimes but not everyone does it in a way that their name becomes associated with the largest global pandemic in 100 years. To my knowledge Rudy was responsible and took the pandemic seriously after this dumb decision but the damage was done. Pretty sure he apologized as well.
It's okay to think someone screwed up and also feel sympathy for that person in not wanting that mistake to follow them forever. Or you can hold everyone's mistakes against them forever. That's okay, too. But the former seems like a much happier place to be.
didn’t Rudy like Elon Musks dumbass tweet “my pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci”? and he follows people like Tucker Carlson and Russell Brand on Twitter so idk how much of a new leaf he turned over
Was unaware of this. If true I take back all of my supportive posting and will deny it ever occurred.
it’s scalding. The whole point of the joke was that people were uncomfortable with close contact. And then wow, what bad luck, the guy with conscious disregard for even the slightest measure of sanitation is the first athlete to come down with Covid.
I'm about to spend like 2 hours looking for games where Michael exited the game for illness in the first half
Bet $10,000 100 times and you’ve wagered a million. As long as you’re not as bad as Ohtani’s interpreter this seems doable.
This. You can sit down at a pai gow table playing $20 a hand, 5 hours and 100s of hands later you are up or down $40 but you have "wagered" a couple thousand dollars.
