They were big 15 years ago in TNA. Honestly don't know what they've been doing since then. They used to be really fun in the ring, they both gotta be 40+ now, but I'd assume they can probably still put on a fun match
Motor City Machine Guns for people who don't automatically recognize an obscure tag team by their acronym.
They were still big in TNA, were tag champs last year. But they have been off and on as a tag team since the peak of their original TNA run ended in January 2011 as they have both done a lot of singles action as well - Alex Shelley was TNA champ for second half of 2023 while Chris Sabin was the X Division champ for most of 2024 and most of the second half of 2023. Shelley is 40 an Sabin 42 Arguably the top tag team in ROH for 2.5 years during the peak ROH years and in TNA during the peak of the TNA years.
I didn't mean it as a knock on them, I just legitimately didn't know what they were doing. I haven't paid attention to TNA since like 4 name changes ago. They were one of the best parts of TNA around 2010
Someone tweeted that those new WWE tag belts looks like a wrapped Ferrero Rocher and now I can't unsee it
I don’t think it’s terrible but after the current IC title, old tag titles and now new tag tiles… I’m fully out on the round front for titles.
This is the best of the bunch, maybe its the color of the leather but I'm also not a big fan of this...
Yeah I think the color combination is a big part of it, also the plate isn't too busy. The black really helps the gold and silver pop.
Another potential feather in the cap for the three-hour AEW block that has been speculated. BOTB on Saturday largely held the Collision audience. This following that three-hour Dynamite/Rampage seeing Rampage do significantly better than it normally does on Fridays. Don’t really care if the numbers are good or not, I’m just posting it for the reason I stated in the above paragraph. Don’t drag me into some ratings argument BS
Going the TNA route: someone leaves, get written off via death Which is really weird to explain in kayfabe when they return, which has happened in TNA lol
In less than a year, WCW would cease to exist after this new era with Bischoff back at the helm with Vince Russo
Tonight's Dynamite looks great on paper. Everything has been well booked and has purpose. Like everybody else, miss me on anything Jericho, but the rest looks solid.
Mone was a bad signing. That was TK trying to land a big WWE name instead of actually getting someone of value. Spending that money on Drew Galloway would've been way better.
I’ve seen Chuck make wrestling references before, but didn’t know he was that into the product. Tony is punching the air right now.
It wasn't a bad signing, it has been bad booking/promoting from the very second they announced the Boston show. Only took a week for TK to make her just another person on the roster.
I’m always surprised they don’t do more crossover with AEW and Inside the NBA since supposedly WBD is so high on AEW. I don’t think they’ve had anybody on there since Jericho like 5 years ago, although maybe they still remember that night NBA Twitter roasted Jericho and AEW after the basketball game and thought let’s avoid that
That's the biggest problem. TK doesn't know what to do with people or how to make them special. He's in over his head and needs help. But he's a billionaire living out his dream of being a booker so he won't get the help. It's frustrating because aew has the talent and potential to be so much more imo
It's clear from the promoting standpoint he seemingly has zero experience or knowledge in the slightest bit with marketing.
She isn't and will never be worth the money they gave her. She was always a bad promo, and in a promotion full of top notch wrestlers, she won't stand out from bell to bell either. She doesn't even have enough of a following to bring more eyes to AEW, so she doesn't really check any box, imo. If you want her to be a face, you have to pair her with Stoke ASAP. If not, make her a piece of shit obnoxious heel. I actually think there's a place for her in the Don Callis family, and she's better suited to be a heel.
