It's wild how fast they went from having what looked like a great young core to battling the Rockies for the title of worst team in baseball. I blame TLR for sucking the fun out of them.
A podcast I listen to is having a labor lawyer on next week to talk about what barriers the MLB face in firing Angel. I’ll post a link if it is worth a listen
Haven’t heard from Bill James in a long time. Hope he is doing well. Annual Handbook was the start of the season for me for a while there
He had a tweet like 4 months ago pretty much undercutting a lot of his prior work and its influence on baseball
Padres had a no hitter in the 7th inning. 8th inning they hit a lead off triple and couldn't score the run with the 9-1-2 up to bat. And it's still 0-0
Yeah that one really surprises me, didn’t think he would improve upon last years performance let alone even replicate it. I keep thinking the nationals lineup should be shitty but they seem so frustrating to face. Jesse Winker figuring out how to play baseball again helps
Dodgers are pitching a pretty meh prospect today on short notice, but he has been very good all year so far.
Castellanos is past washed alert now right? He’s been bad since he’s been with the Phillies and is just atrocious this year
I wouldn't say he's been bad, he did have an OPS+ over 100 with the Phillies until I think yesterday. Was pretty decent last year
Yeah he would’ve been ok as a dh last year because his defense was so bad but they already have schwarber for that. He was bad in 2022 and terrible this year
The strike 3 to end game 1 of KC/CWS is so bad, but no one will care because it happened to the White Sox
Here’s why everyone associated with the game loves Salvy. He’s said multiple times he doesn’t care about playing injured because his biggest fear in life is that a kid will come up to him and say “I went to the game to watch you but you didn’t play that day.” Always plays, always smiles, somehow still crushes balls.
