Meh, just not for me. I mean it an amazingly written song, just not a fan of Cohen's delivery. Here's another:
Perfect song for them to cover. I like it slowed down a little. My vote goes to the Keys on that one.
There is no way that you actually believe this. Cohen's saving grace is his lyrical genius, but he is an absolutely atrocious performer.
Here's one from high school. Technically this isn't a cover because Gary Numan sings on it, but I still like it better than the original.
Anything Pearl Jam covers of The Who is usually pretty solid as well. I guess not better than the original, but sure as hell better than that Fred Durst shit.
Yeah, yeah I know it's sacrilegious. But not really being a huge Beatles fan in the first place, it works for me.
I genuinely hate dave matthews but I like Warren Haynes and the setting of this cover puts it over the top...then again I'm not a huge Neil Young fan to begin with
Nice fucking additions, Rod. I love Saul and Trent's version of SBS as well as Taylor singing Have a Cigar. Good shit.
cash/reznor is like the end-all of cover song arguments. both are ridiculously good but I do side with cash on this one. also I love this one. although I love Bowie's as well, its really 50/50 for me.
I feel like everyone just loves the Cash version of Hurt because it's Johnny Cash. There isn't one thing better about the Cash version, and when you ask anyone that question, all they can come up with is "It's Johnny Cash"
