ended up listening and BPDaawg is out of his fucking mind if he thinks this version is remotely close to Buckley. JT is talented but Buckley was a goddamned prodigy
undrtow Not trying to put Buckley down b/c Grace was a phenomenal album. Both versions are heartfelt as shit. Just like Jt's better. BTW will be seeing Tool in Tucson in Jan. Pretty stoked.
I just can't see how that version would be considered better than Buckley's... but to each their own. JT needed help singing it, where Buckley knocks it out the park. I'm jealous as fuck. I've heard rumors they'll be playing somewhere close to me in Feb. If that's the case, best believe I'll be there. Have you seen them live?
I saw them in Atlanta in 2007 I think it was. They played a pretty short set. Was amazing but used to bands playing more than 10 songs. Also Maynard stands off in the back on stage. Weird but got a good look a Dany Carey doing work. Also saw APC a few months ago in Tempe. Again awesome but a short set with no encore. And their security was throwing people out with camera phones taking pics. I got some anyway
Yea, I've caught them 5 different times and APC once. just saw they're gonna be close to me on Feb 8, Will be there. I got some pics of the last show of their's I caught but the quality was shitty.
I heard from someone that they only did one take when he recorded this song Pretty impressive if true.
Crossroads by Cream: originally by Robert Johnson in 1938 One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer by George Thorogood: originally by Amos Milburn in 1953, then by John Lee Hooker in 1966
sure, new twist on this worn out "classic," and not song by a guy putting his flaming pillow out by repeated biting... no way I am listening to Shatner sing anything.
Sure it is a new twist on a worn out classic. But by no means is it better than the original. Read the thread title, its post covers that are better than the original, not just find covers and post them and claim they are better just because MJK sings them
The majority of the songs posted itt are not better than the originals. No need to pick out one to bash.
Cover of Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" by Butch Walker. Her version is ok, but I will take his on a shitty cell phone camera...
I don't agree with your assessment of Nicks, but Grohl is my favorite musician of all-time, and I'll like anything he injects his sweet, awesome talent into.(some homo)
