http://espn.go.com/espnradio/grantland/player?id=7093006 actually really funny early highlights - saying Timmy Chandler looks like a lovechild between Rio Ferdinand and Joleon Lescott - the love of Ian Darke's "Queen's English" - use of Cherundolo as a verb - Drogba/Altidore's touch is like a "dog chasing a balloon" couple other funny lines I cant remember, but definitely worth the listen
I started listening to them a couple of weeks back. I am a friend of the pod and my purchases of Boddington's have gone through the roof. Glad to see others are enjoying it as well
It's probably been mentioned on here but Football Weekly from the Guardian is amazing. Comes out on Monday and Thursday every week during the season.
TORONTO RAPTORS This one could not be easier. You draw pleasure by cheering a crap team from a crap town located somewhere over the border. Throw in the fact that the squad consists of an inexperienced lineup led by a coach eager to prove himself, and the detail that the team logo features an airborne creature, and you can virtually spell Toronto S-W-A-N-S-E-A C-I-T-Y. Or “Clwb Pêl-droed Dinas Abertawe” in your newly adopted Welsh tongue.
Started listening to the podcast a couple weeks ago. Love it...Only thing is they talk about fucking Everton too much.
http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-t...tland-network-men-in-blazers-with-john-oliver new post, this one with John Oliver, a personal fave of mine
Missed this thread, but a friend told me about it tonight. Listening to most recent one right now. Is it worth listening to past episodes or should I just listen to the next ones? Also, anyone else listen to any other soccer podcasts? Saw another soccer podcast with the Guardian writers
I wouldnt bother listening to past episodes. They basically just talk about the previous weeks game for 40 minutes and then answer emails and have special guest for about 20 minutes. Def. listen to the upcoming ones tho...
It depends on how much time you have really. I have a 45 minute work commute twice a day so I'll listen to old pods solely for the banter.
yea I listened to it on the train this morning going to work. he made me laugh out loud like 5 times. people on my train think I'm nuts. nothing was better than when he talked about Brendan Rodgers and Being Liverpool. that absolutely killed me.
they didn't talk about him this week. they had been doing weekly reviews of Being Liverpool that were hilarious though.
Love Men In Blazers but BleedinGreen's post from last year is correct, the Football Weekly by the Guardian is the best soccer pod out there.
and at them proposing them starting their own nation out of their listenership to challenge san marino
"john terry has been out with injury, and now kattle middleton is pregnant" borderline tears in the office
"Stephen Pienaar irrevocably proving that god is great by opening the scoring after about seven seconds" I could listen to Roger Bennett talk about his beloved Everton for hours
I love when Rog starts talking about Chelsea and Davo lets him go until he can't take it anymore. Usually after he says something along the lines of "just when we thought john terry may be human...."
