I'd take Ian Holloway in a fucking heartbeat. But I'm absolutely gutted that Mick is actually gone. I may have wished that for some time but it feels bad seeing it finally happen. Funny how I never felt this way about Bowden getting axed from FSU. Hopefully a Championship club hires Mick and he brings them to the top flight within a few years.
Alan Curbishley is circulating right now. I'd be really happy with him. Or Rafa, if somehow he actually is an option. Or Ian Holloway. Maybe even Neil Warnock, but god dammit, do not give me Steve fucking Bruce. I will kill myself. I miss the gaffer already. Good memories but unfortunately, this was the right thing to do, albeit a month too late.
Then give me god damn Alan Curbishley and his streaky fixtures. I will take 8 losses in a row as long as he can give me 6 wins in a row on either side.
Sky Sports News@SkySportsNews Sky Sources: Wolves shortlist for manager's job includes Alan Curbishley, Steve Bruce & Neil Warnock. Poor Wolves
I could've told you that list before they ever came out with it. Incredibly predictable but I don't think there's any way we go after Bruce. Steve Morgan already expressed interest in Curbishley, and Curbishley has said he's interested in coming to Wolves. Some of their interviews makes it seem like they want to hire a manager for 13 games and be done with him, and then there's ones indicating they're after the long-run successor right now. Curbishley is someone I would want Wolves to stick with even if we are relegated this year. I think Wolves and Charlton are 2 very comparable clubs and he could work wonders with some of the pieces we have now, plus whatever players he wants to bring in. Morgan and Moxey might be willing to shell out a little more in the transfer windows for a manager they have more faith in. The well ran dry with Mick because they didn't think he could do anything with extra money, but you saw how we struck out on Ba, Onuoha, Bridges, Gardner, Cisse, and several others just this season. Curbishley is the only manager I'd take on right now but I suppose I'll give my full support to whoever is leading the charge.
If wolves gets relegated they have to get right back up, with the stadium expansion, you can't have the seats empty in the Championship
Parachute payments should be extremely helpful if that's the case. We have the young, hungry players to get us right back up. I figure we'll get poached of Fletcher for sure and maybe Jarvis and Doyle. Can't imagine anyone would come knocking for Henry, Kights, or any of our defenders. That would almost certainly kill any chance of Jordan Rhodes ever coming to Molineux and that's one of the things I'd be most upset about. It won't kill our stadium redevelopment as 2M said they'd get it done regardless. Just a matter of when each phase can begin. Compton (youth academy/training facility) is getting its upgrades no matter what. That money has been set aside. I'm not worried about us experiencing something like Charlton, Hull, or Leeds did but I will be devastated to get dropped as Wolves is a massive club IMO.
Hughton is working magic with Birmingham's players and shitty budget. He is a good manager. You guys are lucky to be in an even better situation now because that was an absolutely baffling decision for Ashley to sack him last season. I doubt Brum would drop him if they climb back up.
He is a good manager, and honestly, I was irritated when we fired him and hired Pardew. Pardew has won me over, though. I'm interested at how long they give him if they get promoted, seeing that their owners suck.
Just dropping into say Curb for Wolves. If we hire Bruce or Colin Wanker, we should've just kept Mick.
lol at Lee Clark. Two things on him. Huddersfield are fucking dumb. He's not ready for a survival scrap in the big league. I will only be excited about Curb. But I will support anyone but Steve "drop zone" Bruce. I feel like the only reason to have fired Mick was that the BCD loss was so demoralizing, it would be damn near impossible for the man to boost morale this late.
Curbishley not willing to accept a short term deal apparently. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...g-to-accept-short-term-deal-at-wolves?cc=5901
Old news. According to who you believe, he either turned it down or is expecting a second interview. Jez insists we aren't offering a 13 game role. Bruce also apparently turned it down according to one source but is now the odds on favorite. This is absolutely not going the way they hoped or the way the fans expected. We're in serious trouble.
Round 2... McDermott, Holloway, Poyet, Clark... I'd still like Holloway but I doubt he loves Blackpool for us.
Yeah Holloway would be a good pick for you guys. I figure he wouldn't want to leave until the summer to see if he can get Blackpool back up into the Prem and if you guys make the drop.
Steve Bruce 2/1 Lee Clark 5/1 Roy Keane 6/1 Alan Curbishley 7/1 Gus Poyet 7/1 Ian Holloway 16/1 What did I say? God dammit, do not give me Steve fucking Bruce. He has to have seen how many Wolves fans don't want him. It's like we're striking out on every girl we ask to the prom and Steve has been our fallback option all along. I hate Moxey and Morgan right now. But hey, at least Holloway seems to be trending.
Poyet is a 2 million dollar buyout. We've wasted more money on players that never did a damn thing for us. Worth it if you ask me cause Clipboard Connor, the caretaker, sure as shit isn't going to inspire a revival.
I think Poyet would be a great hire, just interested to see what kind of deal whoever takes over gets regarding relegation
I can see Poyet turning it down because he could be right back in the Champ next season...but I'd like it to happen
Terry Connor has been appointed manager until the end of the season. We sure could've saved ourself the embarrassment by doing this 10 days ago. I have a strange feeling he will get a bit more from our guys than what we've seen recently. Maybe, just maybe, we have enough in us for another go at survival.
I really hope you guys stay up but canning Mick without at least gauging what the market for a replacement would be was atrocious.
A Wolves reporter wrote about how West Brom retains someone that's sole function is to line up a successor for Roy Hodgson. Had a bit of controversy at the Hawthorns at first but it's a great idea and Hodgson doesn't mind it now. Whereas Wolves decided to just wing it. Nobody lined up, nobody that was willing to align their views with ours. Smith said no because even he's uncertain about our survival possibility and what manager would want this on his resume if he fails to survive? Plus I heard Moxey and Morgan were complete dicks to some candidates.
Thanks, ocho. Doyle put in quite the shift. TC made some very ballsy decisions today and it paid off. Haven't seen Kightly look that dangerous in a long time. Love having RJ stripped of the armband. I'd love to get at least 4 points from our next 2 fixtures: @Fulham and home to Blackburn
Our GD is going to shit. We can't afford to be level with anyone on points because we're going to lose out to everyone on GD.
We are a horrible, horrible team. Not surprisingly, the 1 player making his Premier debut today (David Davis, 21) was the most competent man on the pitch. Fuck this season. We're absolutely going down.
