Urban Stack The Terminal Brewhouse Big River Grille Bluewater Grille Brewhaus (on the northshore) Blue Plate Hennon's Taco Mamacita is pretty good (on the northshore) If you're staying for awhile, Formosa in Hixson is the best Chinese in town. Rhythm and Brews has music on the weekends at night. It's actually in the back of Big River. Tons of stuff to do downtown man
Sugars, Hair of the Dog, Terra Nostra, Big River Bar and Grill, Nabe sushi, Aretha Frankensteins, and a bunch of restaurants, breweries/brew pubs that have opened over the past few years to which I am not privy. Its a cool, chill city.
It's really a great place to visit fall, spring, or summer. Fall and Spring UTC students are here which adds about 10,000 students to the downtown area. Football season is always awesome because Chatt is quite the SEC melting pot. You'll find Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, and Alabama fans everywhere. People are friendly and it's beautiful. If you like outdoors stuff, there's more to do within an hour of Chattanooga than anywhere in the U.S. from a pure outdoor perspective whether it's rock climbing, caving, kayaking, canoeing, repelling, hang gliding, cliff diving, boating, hiking, camping. It's just a really pristine area for that sort of thing. Summers are nice too because of the above especially, but the downtown and northshore areas are really nice. It's my hometown and it's come a long way from late 80's/early 90's.
He did. I liked Bob. I met him a few times. He used to frequent Boccaccia's, a really nice Italian restaurant in St. Elmo. He's a really nice guy. I'm glad he got the Senate seat. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a VP nod one day. He's really savvy.
Went to a beerfest/music festival in Chattanooga a year ago on the river and that was a lot of fun and the views around the city are great, downtown has a comfortable feel to it. Really great area to be if you're white.
Chattanooga Brewfest was great in 2007 but then the next year they disallowed dogs and made you buy tokens for drinks. Weak.
The daughter who made out with others on facebook dated a friend of mine and we would go over to their house in high school. The guest house there is bigger than you would ever need. That would be really cool if he got a VP nod.
Ya, they live in like Minnekauda or some ridiculous old money subdivision on or near the river somewhat close to the Chattanooga G&CC. Place is so nice.
Chattanooga...although last time i was there the "Coming Out Festival and Parade" was going on...This song was being blared
man there was this place next to the old train station that was unreal/very local but kinda pricey when i lived there. think it was st. johns? also a good italian joint overlooking the tennessee but its kind of tucked away. its called tony's in the art district.
Arkadin, what's bringing you to Chattanooga, and how long you staying? yes, yes they do that was just a great little sandwich shop I frequent for lunch. http://www.gollywhopperstn.com/# http://www.gollywhopperstn.com/chattanooga-tennessee-restaurants/
Yes. St. Johns. They also opened a sister restaurant right next door that shares some of the same menu items but is a lot cheaper. It's called The Meeting Place or St. John's Meeting Place. Alleia's is very good Italian. It's $$$ but is authentic as you will find. Their Fried Chicken is really good. There's just so much to mention. As JDA2177 mentioned earlier, Champy's is also good. They have a seafood boils during some weekends which are really good. Tony's is really good. The Art District in and of itself is really a great place to relax. Rembrandt's is an awesome coffee shop. Their food is also really good. For breakfast I always get the French Toast and for lunch it's always a Reuben. The Ice Cream Show is right next to the Walnut Street Bridge (walking bridge) and you'll want to take your woman with you if you go there. It's really good ice cream. Sugar's Ribs is pretty good BBQ downtown, but your best bet is finding some in the projects with a smoker. If you're in town for a few days, we have a AA baseball team, the Chattanooga Lookouts, who plays in a stadium overlooking the river. They have a beer garden sponsored by Big River and it's always a good time. Broad Street Grille is inside of the Chattanoogan Hotel, which is an awesome hotel in walking distance from aforementioned Urban Stack, Niko's (a really great Greek place), and Southern Star a local meat and 3 which is delicious for lunch. They have superb banana pudding.
