Waterston will be more Issac Jaffey than Leo, but yes it will be good. I'm skeptical as fuck about Oliva Munn, but we'll see.
started watching this again after watching veep. just finished season 1 and i forgot how great this show is. josh is such a great character
There is no one on Earth whose talent I'm more jealous of than Sorkin's. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/14/aaron-sorkin-syracuse-com_n_1515050.html
RIP Mrs. Landingham The West Wing’s Mrs. Landingham Dies — For Real, This Time You might not know the name "Kathryn Joosten," but there's a good chance you'd recognize her face. The character actor best known for playing President Bartlet's secretary Mrs. Landingham on The West Wing and Mrs. McCluskey on Desperate Housewives has died from lung cancer. She was 72. Joosten, who didn't begin acting until age 42, mostly played lovable older characters — many of whom died. (Not always by natural causes either. Goddamn you, drunk driver who hit Mrs. Landingham.) Her other credits include Scrubs, My Name Is Earl, and Dharma & Greg.
Just watched season 1 episode 10 (In Excelsis Deo). The ending to that was amazing. Makes me absolutely love Toby.
Watching this show for the first time. Came on the air when I was too young to appreciate it. Holy fuck, I'm all in on this shit. Just started season 2 tonight. Like halfway through episode 1 of season 2, don't think i've had an emotional reaction to a network TV show ever and this show just nails me in the chest. Was genuinely freaked out at end of Season 1 and into this ep so far. Had to go bump this thread. Show owns. Bartlet for President. Being super careful not to trudge too much through this thread for fear of spoilers. Had no idea the ending of season 1 was coming. Felt a little hacky, but shit they pulled it off well.
damn i got halfway through season 4 earlier this summer on my 2nd watch through, i need to get back at it. i dont love the last 3 seasons but the campaign with santos and josh is amazing
spoilers for anyone who doesnt want to know Spoiler I still get emotional when Sam comes back to join the squad
Nary a day goes by when I don't drop a West Wing quote on someone. Most people either haven't seen it or don't remember it so they just think I'm really smart.
Started this show years ago and for whatever reason have started and stopped multiple times, but now I'm determined to power through. I'm picking up in the middle of Season 5 and can't remember two story lines and figured I'd come here for the answers: - Why did the president's wife go to the cabin and why is there animosity between he and her? - Why is Josh basically banished to his office?
IIRC Spoiler josh made a senator leave the democratic party, and FLOTUS is pissed because jeb is running for reelection
She's pissed at him because he assassinated Sherrif which led to the kidnapping of Zoey Josh gets benched a few times in the series, you'll have to be more specific. Did the Dem. Senator from Montana just switch parties?
They just shutdown the budget in the last episode and then in the one I just watched the President agreed to a budget with the Speaker, if that helps.
I absolutely love the episode where Bartlett plays chess with Sam and Toby while engaging in war games with China one of the elite episodes
man will was pretty awesome in season 4, they completely ruined his character in the long run and made me hate him
About to finish up the last 2 seasons of the shield, then I'm going to start with this. Watched like 1 season when I was younger, but I definitely couldn't appreciate it like I can now.
fucking cj as chief of staff, was so disappointed when i found out thats who is replacing leo. shouldve been josh
Oh you're right because, you know, people aren't just getting around to watching it....Look 3 posts above you.
even toby wouldve been a good choice but how does cj get it? she's a glorified announcer and had barely any say in policy before her promotion
noobs can kiss my ass they had like 10 years to watch the show. Don't enter a West Wing thread and get upset if you get spoiled on plot points
On CJ as COS. You should all know by now I hate women in power. They are weak and incompetent. However, she was the only choice of characters on the show at the time. IRL an outside person would have probably been brought in. Josh is/was not a traffic cop. That's what the COS is in large part. I would have been cool with bringing in a new character and watching the new staff adjust, maybe Angela Blake...although my opinion on heavy set women of color should go without saying.
vinnick is awesome, hes really hard to root against. just about to finish season 6, not looking forward to the impending toby drama
Yeah I mean he was what, a third term Congressman? Vinnick would have been a great POTUS. I mean I know they wouldn't but they could have continued the show with a moderate Republican like him.
Not reading anyone's posts, because I'm still in season 4 I think? I watch like one episode every night or two. Such a good show. Every time this gets bumped I feel I have to reiterate that.
