Texas A&M @ La Tech moved to Oct 13. That makes A&M's first game in the SEC an SEC game against Florida.
Has anybody heard of anything at Florida to make that line move backwards a full point in the last hour or two?
Got a feeling that USC will get backdoored a lot this season, starting w/ the game vs Hawaii. Their last game vs Hawaii was the same thing. Looking at: Vandy +7 Bama -13.5 Ohio St. -23 Oregon -35.5 LSU -43
That, is a pretty large spread. I don't know much about Oregon's history of playing smaller schools but they are starting a new freshman QB and playing against a Gus Malzahn offense. And can LSU even score 43 points?
Not really a fan of either of these lines teased here... which is probably actually a GREAT sign for this guy. His 7unit plays only come once every 2-3 weeks. And they have a very high win % in the last 2 years. I play every one of them regardless of liking them or not Yesterday, 06:26 PM william13 Registered User Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: hoosier Posts: 3,462 7UNIT tease texas -22 kentucky +20' ........... g/l
Yeah neither one of those have been played, just some things I was looking at. The new freshman QB doesn't really worry me as much. DAT and Barner will do their numbers and the QB will get ample reps to try to get him ready for the conference slate. What are we to make of a Malzahn offense - a running game? Arky St.'s has a Running QB and they lost Dyer @ RB. W/ Dyer it would be a little different. They have good WR's for the Sun Belt (Namely Jarboe who was @ OU) but their beast WR from last year is gone I just don't see them throwing all over Oregon. LSU could score 50 points vs North Texas using the wildcat all game I could see staying away from either of those lines, just some thoughts. Any MAC lines you guys are looking at?
Aplin was a good duel-threat QB in a decent system LY. He threw for 2800+ LY and 15 TDs. I think he will have greater success in Malzhan's system TY. I think he runs for more and throws for more yards than he did last year. And Malzhan's offenses at Tulsa were very balanced. They were much more run-heavy at Auburn because he either didn't have a decent throwing QB or had the best running QB in the country. Oregon has played Malzhan's offense once and did a great job of slowing it down. I think Arky St plays well early and keeps it close, but Oregon should run away with this game late.
I think it will take at least 56 from Oregon to cover that spread. Oregon is definitely capable of scoring that many, but the young QB for Oregon is going to have to make a few plays. There just seems to be a lot of unknowns in this game for a 36 point spread.
Pretty sure I'm going to lay off the spread on USC/Vandy and take the Under 56 for a hefty penny. USC so questionable in the passng game, should be giving Latt 30 carries to pound and eat clock Don't see Vandy throwing the ball a ton unless they get down by a lot, in which case they're not scoring much and Under still looks good
Damn you're right I was looking at UCLA O/U. Still like it at U45.5 but not nearly as much... Vandy Team Total under 19.5??? do not see them scoring 3 tds
Wasn't sure to put this in the NFLX thread or this one. I'm going to make an effort to keep with this board this season. Are we going to continue in this same vein (one weekly thread for discussion and posting picks)? Or are people going to start their own season thread with weekly pick updates, records, etc?
I like this current format. 1 thread for that weeks worth of games. 1 for cfb and another for nfl. Talked to my bookie last night and I'm all set up for the season with a new account. He is a part of a large ring in the NY metro area. This is the first year that they have set up an online account. I used to have to call them and use a codename. This will be way easier and less of a headache
Its a site just for sports betting. No blackjack. Only a few ppl are allowed on the site bc he has to pay a fee for whoever he signs up there. Learned the hardway to stay far away from blackjack in college. Come home from the bar after striking out with a chick and keep hitting hit me button over and over. ughh
I came back home from the bars one night wasted and apparently lost 100 dollars playing blackjack on my bookies site I felt like a complete jackass
I'll raise you $1175 the night of the VT-GT game in 2005. remember losing my ass on that game and a couple other. took a xanax. and drank ~1.5 gallons of beer throughout the day. Woke up the next morning and that number was real real big and I checked to see "unposted casino losses $1275" didn't end up paying all of it bc my limit was supposed to be 1K but gat dayum what was I thinking. Xanax is bad
I guess that means you like EMU +3 as well. I was looking at this game earlier and might add it to my card.
Xanax isn't bad...the resulting blackout and inability to remember anything that happened in the previous 18 hours is bad lol
Been seeing some love for EMU on another board. Coming from some MAC guys that follow the conference real close. I'm intrigued
All plays are one unit unless posted differently. Week 1 NCAAF Card 8/30 Vanderbilt +7 EMU +3 BYU -12
2 down 2 to go. need to start off football season on the right foot. Where did the BYU love come from? does BYU ever blow people out besides FSU a few years ago?
I don't think Rice can keep it close with UCLA. AB to lock up +3.5 for EM. Line just dropped to 3 love those hooks
If anyone wants a talk about online blackjack im your person. Ive lost about $35K on it and I am not even lying. It feels like its not real money when you play so you don't care then you lost $25k and your like oh fuck what did I just do. I bet so much last year I won 55,000 Bookmaker points from it. You get 1 bookmaker point for every $10 bet you make in it. I was playing for Blackjack Multihand, 3 hands at a time, $250 (Which was Max). I did for a hour straight to get all that so that means I had bet a total of $550,000 to get all those points. I have major problems with it. I still play it until last week when I had bookmaker disable my casino. I had my cousin change my password for my account and save it to my remembered passwords so I don't know my password so I can't get them to enable the online casino again.
Oh yeah it was crazy shit. It's really addicting because you win the money so fast. I would get bad at night when I would go to bed and I just lost the last game of the day so I am down money for the day and I want to get back to even or ahead. Then you lose the $5k and you make 4.9k back and your like im almost even I should stop. But you don't then your down $10k. NEVER PLAY 1 HAND. Because it gets addicting online.
A couple things that interest me for tomorrows games. I did my handicapping Tuesday and the UCLA/Rice O/U was 55.5 and I was liking the Under a bit. I get to the internet just now and notice it jumped from 56 this morning at 11AM to 59.5 at 12:33 AM. So in 12 hours it jumped 3.5 points. Obviously some tout is on this probably RAS. That scares me that jump but I still like this play. I really expect the UCLA defense to shut this Rice team down. I envision a 38-10 UCLA victory. BYU has the small public money so far but yet dropped from -13 to -11. Another game where I liked BYU and the line went the other way. I am very high on this BYU team this year. Two of Wazzau projected starting D Line are in question. #1 DT Laurenzi was kicked off the team in July and Starting DE Cooper has an ankle injury and is listed as questionable. Wazzaus defense last year was pitiful and BYU rushing game averaged 160 yards a game. Wazzau surprisingly had a Top 15 Passing Offense last year but the BYU Passing D only gave up 201 yards a game and they bring back 2 of their Secondary players. We all know Mike Leach is just going to chuck the ball all game. Interesting tidbit I heard on the radio today. With the Texas Tech Air Raid offense, Leaches first year against BYU they scored 24 points. The next 2 games they put up 40+. Two Coordinators left Texas Tech while Leach was there. In 2007, one went to BYU and implemented the Air Raid offense, their first game they scored 3 points. In 2008, the other went to Arizona and implemented the Air Raid offense and in their first game they scored 7 points. So this offense will take some time to get going. Hopefully around Game 5-7 we will find alot of value in Wazzau
I tend to agree. I like Bama in that game, but my fandom causes conflicting thoughts and emotions about that game. It's almost impossible for me to look at that game objectively.
