The Official Production Diary for HBO's "Game of Thrones" has posted an image from the set of Season 3 along with this post on the scene that was being filmed in Northern Ireland: In the forests of Clandeboye, on a Wednesday afternoon in August, a man and his wife were walking their dog and heard the sound of a fight. It was an important rehearsal, and the two main protagonists are two of my season favorites: an unexpected pairing, whose war of words is almost as full-on as the fight. This struggle has been choreographed and rehearsed for weeks, with each move carefully placed to match the terrain. The fighters wore pads and fell on crash matts, though for the close-ups later in the week, during the first night shoot of the season, the landing would not be quite so comfortable. It will be a character-defining scene, for more than one who is involved, so it has to be done well. More departments began to arrive for a full run-through. VFX was involved in creating the final moments of the scene, and special effects had a lot to do to make it all work. Armoury had designed a special weapon for this scene alone, and there was a nervous moment when it was first tested against the wood of a massive tree stump and the body of one of our brave stunt guys. The couple asked what was happening, and looked on for a while, but were gently guided toward the path. What happens next is too big a secret for anyone to know, and it certainly can’t be told by me.
Game of Thrones wins six Emmy awards! http://winteriscoming.net/2012/09/game-of-thrones-wins-six-emmy-awards/ Spoiler Tonight the Academy held the Creative Arts Emmys, which gave awards out in various technical categories. Game of Thrones walked away with six statues! This already tops their haul last year of two total wins, and the main ceremony is still to come, where Thrones is up for outstanding drama series and outstanding supporting actor in a drama series. Tonight’s wins came in the following categories: outstanding makeup (non-prosthetic), outstanding costumes, outstanding art direction, outstanding visual effects, outstanding sound editing and outstanding sound mixing. This was easily the most awards won by one program. An edited two-hour version of the Creative Arts ceremony will air on Sept. 22 at 8 PM ET on Reelz Channel. The main ceremony airs on Sept. 23 at 7 PM ET on ABC.
I'm guessing old Pete Dinklage is going to get nominated, but do you think Maisie Williams has a shot? She was great this year.
Dwight is teaching Erin Dothraki in tonight's episode of The Office. Wasn't sure where else to post this
Some good speculative reading for Season 3. Where will the various storylines end in S3: http://winteriscoming.net/2012/10/where-will-they-split-a-storm-of-swords/ What storylines will S3 leave out: http://io9.com/5950819/11-book-subplots-that-game-of-thrones-season-3-could-leave-out
http://www.vulture.com/2012/10/25-most-devoted-fans.html#photo=25x00014 Spoiler: ASOIAF/Game of Thrones is #1. I found it interesting that they said showfags referred to are called Unsullied (on forums other than this one, obviously) considering showfags technically don't what what the Unsullied is yet.
My question is how do fans of the show know about the unsullied? If they don't spoil then how could they know something that comes up in the third season. Just a thought
I meant they shouldn't but Ilyrio did have Unsullied present when Drogo and Dany met. You could tell by the spiked helms.
yea but showfags have no clue what those guys are or why they would be different to any other guards.
looks like they are going away from martin's description of a tyroshi. i'm not sure how neon blue beards would look on tv
I guess HBO figures an American audience wants to see Dany suckle the dong of a white Daario instead of a brown one?
damn you guys are harsh. one picture and you're all over him. There are quite a few characters in the show that don't look anything like the descriptions in the books (Tyrion, Xaro, etc.), but it doesn't bother me in the least. I'd rather the show cast a guy for his ability to capture the character rather than try and match someone up with GRRM's descriptions. BTW, isn't Missandei supposed to be like 11 years old? no one seems to have an issue with her...
It'll be the first time I get the privilege of freaking out over something when the showfags I watch GOT with have no idea why I'm mad. Like all of you did at various points of Season 2.
