Two down with four to go. Stranger things have happened. Anybody know what happens if we tie the Cardinals?
The outcomes of these next three games would determine home-field advantage for a play-in game should the Cardinals and Dodgers end up tied for the second Wild Card. The Dodgers trailed the Cardinals by two games for that playoff berth entering Friday's game. A tiebreaker game would be played on Oct. 4, the day after the regular season, at the home park of whichever team won more games in the head-to-head series. Through Thursday, the Dodgers and Cardinals had split their eight head-to-head games. Los Angeles won the first four, including a three-game sweep of the Cardinals at Dodger Stadium back in May. St. Louis has taken four straight since then.
amazing where we started and ended. A year of baseball is like an eternity. our team will be great next yr if we can sure up some arms.
A season that I will never forget. We won we we shouldn't have. We lost when we shouldn't have. We made unprecedented moves that reenergized a franchise and fanbase that had otherwise been forgotten. In a year like this one, where Elian Herrera gathered game winning base hits and a Luis Cruz became the town's favorite player, about the only constant around the Ravine was the terrible parking. And still, through all of the ecstasy and tumult, the wins and the losses, the euphoria and the heartache, I still can't fail to forget Kenley Jansen with his back turned and a runner dashing home from third, one strike away from an invaluable July win.
don't let one game get you down. there were many we should not have won, and many other teams that had the same luck or misfortune.
So I am interested to hear, do you think Mattingly is the right guy? Early on it seemed people were questioning his ability to manage, is the jury still out?
It's an improbable moment in an improbable season. Just another L in the box score, but represents just how wacky this year has been. All in all, like it has been mentioned many times before, we should be happy with this outcome. The biggest victory of the year came off the field, and I'm excited to see where we go from here
Thread Title leads me to believe Giants have two threads. I mean Ryan Vogelsong is clearly the best pitcher in the NL West.
normally I'd assume this was sarcasm, but you're one of the dumbest posters on TMB, so I'm not giving you the benefit of the doubt
