Going to start posting my plays here to be a little more organized even though I love the weekly discussion threads we have going. Bets will be 3, 5, or 10 units. I've also had two max bets this year that are 40 unit plays. May have a couple more that size before the season ends. Plays will be almost exclusively NCAAF since I have a specific method there and NFL betting is more of a hobby. Totals are rare for me and I bet a lot of two game parlays. The parlays are what keeps my ROI high even with a lower win percentage. I will bet games I like several different ways. Play most of my games early in the week with a few adds on Friday and Saturday. YTD Stats: Profit +208.96u Wins 69 Losses 57 Win% 54.76% ROI 25.69%
I'd rather not say I will give a disclaimer that I am a very streaky handicapper and each of the past 3 years I have gone on a little slide right around this time of year. In all honesty I should shut the season down right now but there's no fun in that
fair enough. i'm always curious to know different ways people manage their money. this is probably a dumb question, but can you explain to me how you are up over 200 units, but return on investment is only 25%? what am i missing there? shouldn't it be much higher?
also, why parlays over single bets? do you set them up on a round robin or whatever that is called? i'm curious to know your betting strategy if you don't mind sharing.
ROI as I have defined it is profit divided by total wagered. For example, if I've made 20 bets to win $100 each at -110 juice, go 12-8, and profit $320, my ROI would be $320/$2200 or 14.54% 25% is a pretty high figure, parlays will boost that number if they hit since you are typically getting +260 odds
Probably 80% of my bets are straight bets, but if I find a handful of games I love, I don't hesitate to play them in parlays together on top of the straight bets. With games I really love, I will open up a handful of "open" parlays with the 2nd leg undecided until another good opportunity presents itself.

Just noticed my record keeping is probably a little confusing. Any straight bets to win over 5 units is split between two of my outs. So my spreadsheet counts a win as two wins or a loss as two losses. Just an FYI in case anyone was wondering

Still taking Maryland even though they're starting a true freshman LB as their QB this week?? Haven't really followed either team this year, just interested to hear your rationale behind that.
They were already down to their 4th string QB, so how much of a drop off can there really be going to the next guy? Somewhat of an advantage for Maryland since GT doesn't know what style to game plan for on defense. Either way, Maryland's RB Diggs (their best offensive talent) will be getting plenty of touches, and GT is just a mess right now. This one is a sneaky good play.
