OK, here is the poll for December. As decided before, we aren't including "The Twelve" even though it is the sequel to our current book. We have five new ones. Here they are: The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon - http://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Wind-Carlos-Ruiz-Zafón/dp/0143034901 The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson - http://www.amazon.com/The-Gargoyle-Andrew-Davidson/dp/0307388670 The Life of Pi by Yann Martel - http://www.amazon.com/Life-of-Pi-ebook/dp/B000Z9PYJS The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck -http://www.amazon.com/Grapes-Wrath-John-Steinbeck/dp/0143039431/ref=la_B000AQ2D1I_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353728790&sr=1-1 Let The Great World Spin by Colum McCann - http://www.amazon.com/Let-Great-World-Spin-Novel/dp/0812973992
Great list imo. Have read 1, am reading 1, and 2 more are on my TRL.... I'm going with "The Shadow of the Wind" to keep it weird, but would be down to discuss any of them. Definitely not reading Grapes of Wrath again, though. Once was enough for me.
Shadow of the wind looks very intriguing. Hope it wins. Will read any of them though, even the Grapes of Wrath, haven't read it in forever
Stilll surprised we only have 8 votes here. I will link this thread in the books topic on the main forum, maybe that will help.
Why the fuck don't you guys want to read Steinbeck. Fuck this shit, I'm reading it anyways. Spoiler I started it a week ago
Read it. Found it dry and boring. I appreciate it for what it is, but for the purposes of reading for pleasure and this club, not interested.
Can someone PM me a .mobi copy of The Shadow of the Wind? I'd like to start reading it regardless of the vote.
Despite a late push by The Life of Pi, the winner is The Shadow of the Wind. Reading starts today. Poll is closed. Thanks to all 17 people that voted. Get suggestions in to me all month. This month I am making a spreadsheet of the nominations so I will be able to make a coherent, inclusive poll, something I have been unable to do the last two months...
