1. Gruden would have a potential conflict of interest in being paid by the bucs and owning part of the browns. 2. The mechanics of a deal where Gruden would agree to coach for UT while a private citizen provides a very significant portion of the consideration are just fucking bizarre TylerFlip I thought at some point you had given up hope on Gruden
lol im obviously trollin, but i still expect an apology if it happens. And Skeezy you were a Beta at UT that says enough about you.
I understand where you're coming from and also hoping for the best, but right now it doesn't seem like there is any consistently reliable information in any direction.
I've got way more important things to worry about than who the next coach would be. Especially since my opinion makes up a whopping 0% of the decision.
I wonder how the squad will come out against Georgetown tomorrow night. Would be a nice win for cuonzo
from what I understand, he said he hasn't received an offer to own part of the Browns, not necessarily a Tennessee offer. He's not going to be the coach at UT, so it doesn't really matter anyways
once its official, I will start looking at the details. I have too much going on to get caught up in rumors. And...
We play Friday night. Hope for a competitive game. If we play hard nose defense and hustle like we did Monday we have a shot. Georgetown had IU on the ropes for 39:30 of their game.
The Grumors aren't ever coming true as much as I would want them to. I don't see why a Stoops or Fisher would make a seemingly lateral move. I was thinking Strong would be a possibility before the Louisville to the ACC move this morning. Strong may still be interested, but the ACC move has to make some difference. Realistically, I see it coming down to either Golden or Fedora.
I live in Tennessee and The biggest negative for y'all with the media hyping a pipe dream like Gruden is that anyone that UT hires will be seen as a disappointment. All my UT friends have been telling me for months that Gruden was coming. They don't even want to listen to reason or discuss any other option. I think Fedora/Golden/Strong would actually be good hires for UT.
WGAF if fans are disappointed after a December press conference? Fans being slightly let down would have no lasting effect on a program. Winning cures disappointment no matter who is coaching.
Yep. But that doesn't mean it won't be hilarious for me to listen to all the UT fans calling in bitching on sports radio about how close they were to having Gruden. Honestly though, UT is the most attractive open SEC job. Will be interesting to see who you wind up with.
I blame the internet for all this ridiculousness. it would make an AD's job much less stressful if twitter and message boards didn't exist
I just want to win i dont give a fuck who our coach is. If Charlie Weis won at Tennessee i would gladly cheer for his fat ass.
I'm just gonna leave this here. http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2012/nov/30/former-super-bowl-winner-gruden-mulls/
Im hearing reports that there is still a chance and that Gruden has been in an underground bunker with Hart the last 8 hours
I think Strong is a damn good coach. He's going to be a beast recruiting Atlanta too, which sucks for us. I would've much prefered you guys hired Gruden.
With your batting average, I'm going to say anyone but Strong. And I have no fucking clue what I am talking about.
