Was getting ready to pull into Publix to get a sub today when an idea popped into my head.. Drove right by Publix to a small Mom and Pop place on out little "main street". They bring in freshly made bread twice a week from New York and use Boars Head meat on ALL their subs. About the same price as Publix.
Making a beeline for a Publix sub and a half gallon of sweat tea as soon as I get back to Florida in 10 days.
their fried and rotisserie chicken are amazing. their sides are pretty damn good too. the variety depends on your region though.
The one near my house in Atlanta has a chinese food hot bar thats decent too, and is only like 5 bucks a pound or so. Probably slightly better than Panda express.

Best sandwich shop I've ever been to. Solid ingredients, nothing fancy... just absolute sandwich perfection. If Publix Subs are wifey, then this is my bih on the side.
Not rotisserie, or a cold cut. Publix has a hot food section in the deli where they make a different meat every day of the week (chicken tenders, roast pork, ribs, etc) today is jerk motha-fuckin chicken day, and it is glorious

it is not the chicken tender sub. you have to look over at their hot food glass and see if they have the buffalo chicken tenders ready, then request that as your meat. I purchase another side of wing sauce and also have been known to add bbq sauce as well. the second phase is telling them to cut a few slices of some cunty cheese that isn't american or swiss. I'll go with all different kinds. They will most likely give you a "we don't have that" type look but just point over to all the blocks of cheese behind the glass. yea, publix deli workers hate me.
i asked for horseradish cheddar today for my roast beef. she had to slice it but didn't care at all. sucks you have bitchy deli employees
i initially asked if they had it and she said "yea, but i have to slice it" and before i could say anything else she was off.
Was going to go ultimate with some pj cheese and pickles pressed, but was with a coworker and crunched for time so I went Chicken Tender dinner with black beans and rice and the goat potato wedges. So clutch..
Went with the Turkey Cranberry sub today after reading the thread yesterday. It was great. Had a special (at least at the Publix I went to) for a whole for $6.29
got pretty close to replicating the buffalo chicken finger sub at Harris Teeter they use breaded chicken breast, which is ok, but not great where they shine however, is they use sriracha instead of plain buffalo throw some blue cheese and some provolone on there and we are good to go all that on a footlong for $5
Just got the mojo pork sub and let me put it this way, if every girl I've ever slept with said you can either have me or the sub, there would be a lot of upset mediocre looking broads.

Every time I enter this thread I end up a Publix. If I get good planning periods tomorrow (sub teacher) I'm going to snatch me up some. Side note. Their chocolate cake with whipped cream icing served cold is the GOAT cake. (unless we are including ice cream and cookie cake. Then shit just gets weird).
who is "they?" I'm now contemplating walking up to the deli with a bottle of sriracha and saying 'open this and do work' on my next sub, probably chicken or pork but I think the cuban could get it done too.
i figured, was just hoping he switched it up and meant publix. we'll see how they react to my sriracha attempt.
It was Teeter, but I think they also have to have a sushi section, because my sandwich maker walked over and got it from the asian sushi guy
best sub i've ever fucking had. Italian on wheat, with some spicy cheese, oil and vinegar, pepper, oregano, lettuce, onions, jalapenos, pickles. un fucking toppable eating it right now
Finally got a couple good planning periods today and made the .4 mile trek to the Publix. After much inner debate, i chose a whole cold Publix Ultimate on White over a hot Phili. Extra Mayo. A line of Honey Mustard. Lettuce. Bell Peppers. Pickles. A little oil. Vinegar. Diet Sierra Mist because i'm dieting... Picked my buddy up some Sushi while i was there too. Publix is the GOAT grocery store IMO.
I go with whole wheat wraps either Boar's Head Italian, light mayo, spicy mustard, banana peppers, light lettuce (they always put too much on) and oregano. Chicken Tenders wrap, light ,mayo, american cheese, lettuce, pickle and onion. Or Cuban sandwich (not the pre-made) I make them slice that shit up and press it on white bread. I eat there 3-4 times a week. Agree on the Carrot Cake and their buttercream frosting is the shit as well on a normal cake.
i can still smell the oil and vinegar from yesterday's lunch in my trash. it's intoxicating. i'm having flashbacks to feasting on that delicious sub
