Kinda surprised SNES was still going for $130 by then, but i guess it was the GOAT system so kinda makes sense.
Pacific Blue... my goodness. What a production. But I don't remember it as a Saturday morning thing...?
The show had murderers, rapists, and fucking ghosts. Why did my parents let me watch that shit? Every Wednesday night me and my brothers would sleep in the same room cause we was scared.
p proud of myself right meow :) I was thinking of this movie the other day, I used to love the part where he pretended to be a singer and had a concert at the school
Also, not a product or anything, but I saw a kid that was probably in the 6th grade in the mall walk past an overhanging sign for a store and jump up to hit the sign. Nostalgia'd pretty hard because I used to do that shit all the time growing up.
My nephews all told me they wanted speak n spells for Christmas. I was like wtf because I didn't know they still made them. Ends up they don't. They played with one at a neighbors house who saved all his old toys and his kid plays with some of them.
the damn reenactments got me every time also somewhat related i remember being in 1st grade or so when my mom's car caught on fire in the garage and i was all pumped thinking we'd be on Rescue 911
I don't remember if I've posted this in this thread yet. I think I need to buy the power pad and game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XzbQLRE3b4
Same with my younger brother. He was so scared that just the theme song would freak him out. We used to chase him around the house singing the notes to it. Good times. Only UM episode that ever really freaked me out was this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9r6ireR5K8 I think that's the right one, I'm not watching it to find out. It's late and I'm up all alone. No need to stir myself up like that.
I used to watch Unsolved Mysteries also. But I was a weird kid anyway. A mark of a great show is a kinda show that would feature true stories of rapist, murderers, terrorist, and ghost all in segments. It was scary because they were true stories. No, not only are there rapist out there, but there are also ghost. There was another great show in the 90's called Beyond Belief Fact Or Finction. That one guy from Star Trek(Jon Frakes) It was a show that featured 3 stories of strange things that would happen to people, and at the end of the show you'd have to guess which one of the stories was true. There was one episode called "Mirror Of Truth" about a vain woman who put on this makeup, and I guess the mirrors she looked at were cursed, because every mirror she looked into, her face kept getting more and more hideous, but other people who looked at her, only saw her normal face. It was as if the mirror showed her true self to herself only, so that other people couldn't see what her problem was, and she'd go crazy because no one could help her. Well at the end of the seagmant, she had this REALLY hideous face that scared the crap out of me til this day. I shouldn't have watched that show as a 9yr old. Here's the episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXQvpgO-ghw
There was an episode of UM that dealt with demons and satan, I watched on vacation with a babysitter, it scarred me for years.
I love watching FBI type shows where it shows how they solved the crime etc, but with UM they were still out there.
You want scary intro music? I got all your asses beat. Greatest half-hour-shit-your-pants-fest of all-time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mioevxb2CfA
That's just how genius at scaring people UM was. It's scary when a killer is still on the loose. But you give a whole new meaning of nightmare when the prince of darkness is still out there terrorizing people and can't be apprehended by the laws of man and the physical world. And when its based on a TRUE story. But being Haitian, I heard stories like that all the time.
I was a little shit as a kid that had to have the latest and greatest thing. In 1993, it was the 3D0 system. The graphics blew everything else out of the water at the time and was partnered with EA, so it had a great selection of games off the bat. That system was 599 back then. Got it for Christmas and had kids beating down my door to play FIFA.
Scholastic brochures. Totally remember those. Never bought or read any of those books though. Especially Animoprhs. I just looked at the front cover and pondered, and waited for the show to come out.
