I'd imagine Polamalu had a nice "keep my fucking name out of these shenanigans you fucking idiot" conversation with Mauia last night.
started talking about harry potter and avatar. saying he felt old and why dont people just cuddle and he loves to cuddle.
I bet that guy wasn't complaining when they were sucking off and overhyping Teo bc everyone felt bad for the kid.
i tuned into cowherd for about 30 seconds, long enough to hear him say "young people on twitter are supporting te'o, saying he was lied to and completely duped." and now i remember why i stopped listening to you about 2 years ago.
Amazingly no posts from this thread have made it to the top liked list. I have never been one to pine for likes, but I have one that is pretty close. Feel free to further immortalizing this thread by contributing to the cause. I only need another 15 or so. http://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/siap-teo-got-catfished.119275/page-31#post-8538348
I'm genuinely shocked you aren't whiteknighting him. You could spin the rape of children, but not this.
i'm so glad i was hammered at the national championship game running around yelling about how teo was a loser because he didn't have a grandmother or a girlfriend.
For a company (ESPN) that has so many insufferable, hacks working as journalists and sports personalities, he is probably the worst. That is saying something.
cut him some slack. He is only a week or so removed from Te'o being public enemy number one on the field.
From the Rb Pure Gold from the Notre Dame 4Horseman Lounge Reply Sjb75: I have encountered numerous devout Mormons in my business, and these type of actions, developing an emotional bond with someone without meeting, does not surprise me one bit. Haters on Manti will hate, it is what it is; however, I believe Manti Teo. Unequivocally. p.s.---The Jack Swarbick Press Conference only reinforced my beliefs. Savvyandsassy: I might put it this way. There is no one less likely, in all of CFB most likely, to do something like this. And conversely, there are few people more likely to be taken in by something so paltry. Because Manti is indeed such a trusting and good guy. The man is innocent. WAMIV: He's telling the truth. If you think ND would back him up with any inclination otherwise you're a damn fool. Vagabondrun: Regardless, of how much he knew and when he found out, I think it's clear he was duped a little. I feel bad for the guy. I honestly believe he didn't know, found out, was embarrassed, didn't know how to get out, and just let the story continue to have legs. His dad on the other hand just fueled it. I think the situation was bigger than themselves and they simply handled it poorly. There is redemption for everyone, especially guys like Manti Te'o. Let's not be arrogant jerks in this, but instead, take some time to pray for all involved. UserND83: He had a very unconventional relationship with this "girl", but it was still a relationship and he went throught the heartache of sickness and death as a part of this sick prank. I don't think you find out it's a ruse and suddenly come clean to the world as these reporters are suggesting he should have done. There has to be some psychological damage involved and I'm not a big psychobabble guy, but this is extreme.
What's the best case scenario for teo at this point? That he found out he was being duped back in september, and he lied to save face?
And that, at best, they told him to continue the lie during the lead up to the BCS game. I don't get why people aren't blasting ND for that.
If this really was a prank, has there ever been a more public prank? Spoiler other than that whole God thing
The Te'o lovefest never bothered me a whole lot b/c I hardly ever watch ESPN, so I never really hated the kid in the first place. He seemed like decent, highly moral kid without the LOOK AT ME factor of Tim Tebow. I could think of plenty more players I'd enjoy laughing at more than Manti.
Wait....you fuckin use AOL EMAIL!?!?!?!?!? This might be more pathetic than making up a dead girlfriend.
They said he should look forward and not backward. Didn't specifically tell him to lie, just avoid it. Apparently only came up once and he dodged the question.
Pretty shitty if true, but if they did in fact find out the 26th, they still didnt benefit any by covering it up
