i'm so glad i was hammered at the national championship game running around yelling about how teo was a loser because he didn't have a grandmother or a girlfriend.

 

For a company (ESPN) that has so many insufferable, hacks working as journalists and sports personalities, he is probably the worst. That is saying something.

Vagabondrun: Regardless, of how much he knew and when he found out, I think it's clear he was duped a little. I feel bad for the guy. I honestly believe he didn't know, found out, was embarrassed, didn't know how to get out, and just let the story continue to have legs. His dad on the other hand just fueled it. I think the situation was bigger than themselves and they simply handled it poorly.

There is redemption for everyone, especially guys like Manti Te'o. Let's not be arrogant jerks in this, but instead, take some time to pray for all involved.




UserND83: He had a very unconventional relationship with this "girl", but it was still a relationship and he went throught the heartache of sickness and death as a part of this sick prank. I don't think you find out it's a ruse and suddenly come clean to the world as these reporters are suggesting he should have done. There has to be some psychological damage involved and I'm not a big psychobabble guy, but this is extreme.

The Te'o lovefest never bothered me a whole lot b/c I hardly ever watch ESPN, so I never really hated the kid in the first place. He seemed like decent, highly moral kid without the LOOK AT ME factor of Tim Tebow. I could think of plenty more players I'd enjoy laughing at more than Manti.
