The word with Brek Shea is that MLS feels they can get more for him in the Summer or next Winter if he plays a healthy season and the new tv money starts to pour in for the EPL. He just started jogging this week, so he's a good month or two away from being able to play. Would've been out of contract this month but he signed an extension through 2015 back in 2011, which was a mistake (especially with no exit clause). I'd guess MLS feels they can get at least $6 million for Brek if he returns to his 2011 form when they rejected a $4 million deal from Schalke.
Between their scheduling and Nazi transfer policy, MLS is way more uppity than it has any right to be.
I desperately wish MLS would change its god damn schedule. It's already in direct competition with the NFL/CFB for 4 months as it is. Coutinho is exactly the type of Brazilian that fails miserably in the EPL. He is so small I doubt he can handle it.
Serie A is way too fast for Coutinho and he's been in the league for 3 years Can't imagine the struggles he will have in the EPL
