people on VQ are really pathetic with their reactions to Bell. Most of the recruits that say they grew up "fans" don't view being a fan the same way real fans do. And they also need to realize that what he said of his decision is just a dose of reality. He's a top flight recruit with a possible NFL future. Would you rather go to a school that is in the dumpster right now or play for a 2-time NC coach who went undefeated last year? But you have people on VQ acting like it's a personal insult to them that a 17 year old kid chose to go somewhere he felt would be the most beneficial to him, like any normal human being would do. Also, the whole "he's an asshole for stringing us along." Yeah, that's why he never made a verbal commitment to UT. And these same people probably saw nothing wrong with Janzen Jackson's and Nukeese Richardson's signing day flps, where they had actually been committed to other schools all the way up to signing day.
what did he say that was a dose of reality? can someone copy/past some of the good freakouts if they get time? tia.
said something like "My heart was telling me UT but my head was telling me Ohio State was the better business decision"
i really need to change my rivals user name so i can post and not get all the herping that i'm an lsu fan.
The VQ is pathetic. Middle aged men behind a keyboard. Time to work on the 2014 class starting with Hurd. A lot of legacies who can play ball should help our foundation for next years class. Winning games will help. Pulling upsets will help more. We havent beat a ranked team since Jan 1. 2008. Five years and counting. It is what it is. My dad has been saying for the last few years it was worse in the mid70s - early 80s. However the last five years are probably the darkest for this program.
ever since me and fur burglar and wankrews got kicked off after the dooltabbypocalypse, they assume anyone disagreeing with them is a "troll" on days like this though, they are too emotionally involved to be rational and can be manipulated really easily
there are some logical responses similar to what i said above, but VQ never disappoints with their gaggle of lunatics here's a few responses: there are plenty others, but it would take hours to go through all the threads on him
last time i posted on VQ it was before the Montana game. People tried to play them up as a formidable opponent because they were a top 15 FCS team. I basically said the score would be much like every other bullshit first game and people would get way too confident, just like the Western Kentucky game in 2010. Every response I got back was something like "wtf do you know, you're an lsu fan"
they are some of the most obtuse people i have ever dealt with. weird combination of ignorance, irrationality, and aggression.
I hate that a couple of my friends are in that group. But it does provide the rest of our group with entertainment whenever they go into meltdown mode
If had a choice of 3 fast food places, those would likely be the 3, maybe trade Krystals for Taco Bell.
Your Dad is right, really took until Major's 5th season to get the ball rolling and didn't win the SEC until 85. Then Fulmer was able to take it to the next level after Johnny's health problems and the coup. Biggest problem was that Majors hadn't beaten Alabama in a while even with the SEC Championships in the late 80's. The coaching transitions have hurt more than anything, UT needs consistency. A strong Tennessee if good for Auburn because it helps keep Bama in check. My only concern is how Butch comes across in the living room, whether he can close. He is a good coach and has put together a decent staff but he needs to be able to put a fence around Tennessee, especially Memphis and regain footing in Georgia and the Carolinas.
We just need to win some football games to give some recruits something to feel somewhat positive about and hopefully we can manage to do that. As for Bell, I figured he'd go to OSU honestly. They're ready to contend right now, so I don't really blame him for that. We have been absolute shit for the last 5 years. I will obviously support CBJ for as long as he's there but next year's class will be need to be stocked with good, quality players that were wanted by other big programs. If not, it's going to be a long time.
Austin Peay - W W. Kentucky - W @ Oregon - L @ Florida - L ( is there a harder back to back road matchups? Eugene - Swamp + travel coast to coast) South Alabama - W Georgia - L BYE South Carolina - L @ Alabama - L @ Missouri - * Auburn - * BYE Vanderbilt - * @ Kentucky - W 7-5 with Music City Bowl or better is exceeding my expectations for a good year.
recruits are less and less impressed little and wilson become more distant memories fucked the program is
Jesus, what was your AD thinking? And the answer is no, that is brutal. I thought UF's @Texas A&M - @Tennessee back to back was tough last year. That is just insane.
Wondered this, as well. I can only assume this decision was another genius move by Hamilton. Spoiler wouldn't put it past Hart either
Oh, it reeks of Mike Hamilton. How far in advance was this schedule made? Was Hamilton still in control?
We bought out the UNC game under dooley. Plus, UT doesnt have the money to buyout contracts. They probably need whatever Oregon is paying them.
From my hometown. I think he'll be a good QB as a red shirt sophomore or junior. Needs to add some muscles but has a good arm and is cerebral.
