The old thread is either dead, or located somewhere beyond page 4. Either way, we begin anew. Spoiler Just kidding about BTT Spoiler Or am I? Been going hard in the paint recently with quinoa. Had grown tired of it a while ago, but mixing it with sriracha has given it new life.
I took this week off from lifting, my back is giving me fits and I don't care for it one bit. Also I'm not seeing a lifting thread..
This is what I have to deal with everyday living a couple minutes from Billys. The constant urge to eat fried pepper jack boudin balls.... have been doing alright though, not going to gym as much as I like- but still pretty regular. Went to a pump class with my wife Monday morning, that kicked my ass more than I thought
So I tipped the scales at 250 on Labor Day 2014. Dropped ~35 pounds by Thanksgiving 2014. As of this week I'm weighing in at just under 200 for the first time in over a decade. Looking to get into the 170-180 range as a landing spot. At that point, body composition will become the focus.
I got stalled when I was right at 208 with this bitchmade back pain and took the week off..i'm anxious to get back in the gym lifting again and try to get under 200 before the summer. I haven't been that light in a good long while so it would feel good to get there.
I know those feels. Getting from 205 to 202 took forrrreevvvveeer. Then got under 200 in like a week. Last time I weighed under 200 was right before our summer football workouts began my sophomore year of HS.
Did a "de-load" week last week, have been feeling great this week. Substituted my carbs/potatoes/quinoa with broccoli the past 2 weeks. Lost 2-3 lbs, feeling a little lighter on my feet. I have got to find a place to play basketball rather than just run. I'm getting so bored with just lifting + running. Think I'm going to sign up for Hot Yoga for a few months again and join a Y solely for b-ball.
sign up for a race or 2 a month that always keeps me motivated with running I have a 10k in the morning
Or just start playing basketball After taking several years off from playing, and really only going recently after a workout - I shoot about 8% from the field. Pistol Pete Lau will be back though
I played a bit in college, got real big into it in graduate school, but haven't really played since about winter of 2012. Playing after a workout is awesome for #healthyliving, but sucks for actually playing decent. My ego can only take so much abuse.
oatmeal with a banana + a bagel it takes 2.5 mins sooooo it's hard for me to be motivated to make unseasoned chicken #pleeblyfe
standard one that started the whole crockpot thread... did that one get deleted by the way??? that's a fucking travesty if we lost all those receipes. ~2.5lbs of chicken breasts (I like to pre-slice into skrips for reasons) bottle of your best wing sauce packet of ranch dressing powder simple as shit. leftover sauce in the rubbermaid to pour it on top when reheating over a bed of brown rice to make that shit taste like something
Been focusing again on upping my protein intake. I've let it go by the wayside and I think it's affecting my recovery from workouts... Also been taking naps at work, the Mexicans are on to something.
I honestly don't keep up with it. I'd like to think it's relatively low because i watch what I eat, but I the only thing I've ever actively tracked is protein.
If you're doing crossfit 4-5 times a week you need to up that carb game. Fuel your workouts, aids in recovery, etc. brown rice, potatoes, etc.
company ordered a truckload of raising canes for lunch after tacos for breakfast. so naturally since it's yolo friday we take 3 chicken fingers, put them on texas toast and then add some queso from this morning's leftovers. so bad but so fucking delicious. /glutton
even if it was seasoned I can only take it once a week but I'll try seasoning it I think I just should not make it on the stove
Sand volleyball league started back up tonight. Hell of a leg workout. Followed it up with a gym sesh with tabata battle ropes and jump rope. Bout to get drunk on that whey
Breakfast: Couple eggs, couple strips of bacon, small glass of oj and a cup of steaming hot black coffee. Protein shake on the way to go lift.
Bruce, you are a personal hero of mine, but I'll be damned if I dump the small glass of OJ I enjoy every morning with my breakfast.
Is keto bullshit? I've been trying to keep fat and carbs down to lose some weight and it's been working pretty well so far, then I see these people on keto diets losing like 30 pounds in a month and I'm like wtf am I doing? Halp
If you want to drop weight fast, keto will do it. Obviously not sustainable. If you want to run, lift, swim, any type of physical activity that requires a large energy expenditure, you need them carbs.
Well, yes. If you're going keto you only need to do it for a short period. You won't have the energy to maintain performance in the gym without carbs, you won't recover as well, etc.
I think I'm just gonna stick with low calorie and trying to keep carbs and fats down. It's going p well so far.
I resisted the urge for McGriddles this morning, pretty proud after my 10k i waited in line and was next but decided to leave #cool
