Looked for the old thread and couldn't find it. Looking like Rabb and Swanigan to Cal with possibly Jaylen Brown joining them. Have to wonder how much that cost is gonna cost them and how pissed Adidas would be to lose Brown.
Isn't Brown going to UCLA? I wrote a check and need a refund if that's not the case. I thought Rabb was going to zona.
Well if you listened to a certain recruiting insider Arizona has had him bought and paid for for over 2 years, but yet here we are with him likely going to Cal.
For some reason a bunch of people are saying kenny williams, the recent vcu decommit, is headed to michigan.
This is what scout national analyst brian snow posted on a michigan board about brown during mcdonalds practices "Well, at the risk of losing my beloved rep of being the board Grim Reaper, I have come here with some Jaylen Brown news that you all might enjoy. I have consistently been hearing for a little while now that Michigan is right in it with Jaylen. And now I am getting more and more concrete evidence to suggest that the Wolverines are running not only in the top group, but in the top two. Now what is a bit up for grabs is who is in it with Michigan, but Kentucky is the school I think that is the biggest competition, though you do get some buzz with Kansas and UCLA as well. Either way though, Michigan is a constant and appears to be very much in the mix. I THINK we are weeks away from a decision, as in before the end of April, but nothing has been finalized yet."
Shitty on Swanigan, what used to be whoever Izzo prioritized and stayed in on he typically got. Now it seems like we miss on everyone. Okafor, Jones, Ulis, Parker, Alexander and now Swanigan. He would have been a very nice piece to have next year. Oh well.
Alabama offered former Memphis F Nick King. I don't know much about him but he seemed to be a pretty talented high school recruit.
I too think Michigan is in it. UCLA, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, Michigan He has some advisors/handlers so it wont solely be his decision. Mom def likes Michigan.
I live in Fort Wayne and the rumor all around town is it is MSU or Duke for Swanigan. Supposedly has had his mind made up for a while. I don't follow all of this very close but Cal would be a huge surprise.
Michigan does have a lot of connections to him(mom from michigan, cousin attends um, Adidas school, key advisor played under um assistant). However, I don't think michigan has a shot at this one. Beilein never gets kids like this. Um insiders have said there are two key advisors though, his AAU coach and shareef abdur rahims brother. They are supposedly the ones pushing Adidas big time.
He indicated he was committing to MSU after the OSU basketball game according to those close to the program on our side. Cal seem has emerged in the past week and most think he goes there. The one guy on the MSU board indicated a few minutes ago that it was indeed Cal.
ewwwwwwwwwwww. Where's that from? Hasn't he openly stated he's going to an adidas school? Also who is UK expected to close with?
Remember how mad you got when I said Wisconsin was as good as Kentucky, good times. Believe you said you were going to punch me in the face. Just felt the need to bring that up.
That Adidas quote is like 6 months ago, really depends on how much pull his advisors have as far as the Adidas thing.
None of the top players in this class excite me, thinking the one and dones will have less impact than any other group in recent memory. Really good year to be UNC or Maryland with all they're bringing back.
The NBA scouts have been apparently drooling over Simmons at McD's and Summit practices, definitely excited to see him play next year. I'd guess the biggest question for him in the NBA will he be a 3 or 4? Australia is certainly on the up with talent such as Simmons, Exum, Maker, and Jonah Bolden (who should be eligible next season). All I believe (but Maker obviously) have American fathers who played pro ball in Australia and just ended up living there and knocking up their white women.
Seen Simmons a bunch since I tried to watch Russell every time he played on TV last year and also a few times this year. Terrific player and potential but his ball handling and half court offense needs a lot of work, gonna take him some time. Good skillset but he's got an AAU game.
@Biggs_Swanigan: Next year I will be going Michigan State university. Once a spartan. Always a Spartan
How Kentucky gets Skal eligible is beyond me. A year or so ago, his "guardians" created a fake school that he was supposed to attend. I'm sure he'll play but doesn't pass the sniff test. Same with Maker, as a KU fan, it sounds like we are leader for him if he goes to college but I hope Self doesn't invest a lot of time that probably will never play in college. Was disappointed to hear that Jayson Tatum cut us from his list as we've been recruiting him since he was in 8th grade.
Hope the kid comes ready to work which by all indications Izzo was up front with him. He seems pretty raw but hoping for a Jr/Sr type Nix player. Very light on his feet and passing ability from the post should be an improvement from last year.
Apparently Izzo came in with a late offer that topped Cuonzo's. JK. But really it is looking like a tremendous job of trolling the Cal staff and everyone by Swanigan. After every recruit guy said Swanigan to Cal today this is hilarious. Rabb has been waiting to commit to Cal because he doesn't want to be alone so this is just fun.
I think once he saw that this year's team really top out and still come up short, he realized you do have to play the game. The most confusing part in this whole thing was MSU almost certainly would have more boosters lining up to pay than cal would so there was no reason the cal offer couldn't be matched at least if not exceeded. Glad the decision was made to pay the kid his damn money.
Romar not fucking around @btoppmeyer: #Mizzou WBB assistant coach Michael Porter Sr. has been offered an assistant coaching position on Washington MBB coaching staff, per source
