Here's an interactive lineup that lets you sort by music genre and will play youtube videos for whichever artist you click on.

Here's a spotify playlist that was created using the following criteria:
    • Only 5 songs per artist unless less are available (Alison Swing, Ben UFO, Chris Cruse, DREAMCAR & Jen Ferrer have 0)
    • Aggregated the top songs from Apple Music, iTunes Store, Last.fm, Spotify and Beatport (for EDM only)
    • No more than 3 songs from the same album unless they only have just 1
    • No live versions, covers (unless they're specifically known for one) or remixes (only if THEY are the remixer)
    • Tried to incorporate only songs that they have played live recently (if you find anything that shouldn't be in here, let me know)
    • Yuma artists rely solely on Beatport since the others don't really reflect what those artists actually play

Here's an interactive visualization of the lineup. You can click on a keyword to filter it or click on an artist to see what keywords they are tagged with.

This is a playlist with the top songs from each artist (according to Spotify) with added emphasis on headliners.

I've been the last 5 years. Every year seems kinda similar. Some good bands, some disappointments. AC/DC was pretty fun. Other shows I thought were great and stood out were Lykki Li, the war on drugs, the weeknd, Kygo. Didn't watch Drake but heard it was very boring from multiple people. Seemed not as crowded this year with the exception of last night. Weather was best its been that I can remember. Apparently the new trend this year was not wearing a bra, so that was cool.

    Here's what I've got so far: http://clashfinder.com/s/coachella2k15/?user=03d8pz.oh&

Going to see War on Drugs and AC/DC for sure but I'm not really sure what I'm going to do Sunday night after 10:30ish... none of the acts really appeal to me. I've also got some conflicts I can't figure out. Belle & Sebastian vs Run the Jewels, Ryan Adams vs Brand New, and the worst one is Father John Misty vs Kasabian. Probably just going to be game time decisions for all of them.

I went to brand new over madeon and I was super disappointed. I pretty much figured they'd play a lot of your favorite weapon and deja entendu and I would go for the high school flash back, but I maybe only knew 3 songs. No Jude Law, No seventy times seven, no soco amaretto lime, no quiet things that no one knows. People around me who apparently knew some of their newer stuff seemed to be into it though.

For those of you who have AXS TV, they'll be airing all 3 nights this weekend.

Is it just me or is this lineup way worse than last year? :idk: If not and its due to up and comers, which ones should I check out this weekend?

It's not the best line up they've ever had but there's still a lot of good music.

Had an amazing weekend. This was probably my favorite Coachella of the three I've been to (2013-2015), slightly edging out 2013. The lineup looked average at first, but after this weekend there was so much to do and see that I think the lineup will generally will look much better as time goes on.

Friday was my favorite of nine Coachella days I've been to. Nearly every set was amazing. Started the day With Cloud Nothings, which was a good start, but I preferred the band as a four piece. Went to the beer garden after George Ezra unexpectedly cancelled then saw some of Slyvan Esso. Later I caught Ride, then the War on Drugs were perfect at sunset, followed by Alabama Shakes. Caught half sets each of Caribou, Todd Terje and Tame Impala who were all great from what I saw. Maybe wished I could have caught more of Caribou. Finally, AC/DC was extremely tight to close out the day.

Saturday was Royal Blood to some of Benjamin Booker to some Milky Chance and Cashmere Cat with two friends that like pop/EDM. Then Run the Jewels were fantastic, Hozier and Alt-J okay, Kasabian a huge dance party, and Jack White and the Weeknd great to end the night (Ratatat came out late so only saw 10 mins of their set).

Sunday saw Joyce Manor, the Orwells, Sturgill Simpson, Desaparecidos, some Jenny Lewis from the beer garden sitting down, Brand New, Stromae, Florence, and Drake. Drake was the only downer on an otherwise great weekend - it was a poor headlining set for the fest.

Top five sets were AC/DC, Brand New, Alabama Shakes, Stromae, and Run the Jewels (top 2 in order, next three together in some order).

Maybe it's just because they've made the grounds so expansive or because there are so many stages at once but things seemed so less crowded this year.

Disagree, think this lineup is better than last year. Undercard is maybe as loaded as any festival ever. Sub-headliners are a bit weak, but 2 of the 3 headliners are very solid. Last year's lineup had a lot of huge "pop" subs (Calvin Harris, Lorde, Lana del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Zedd, Martin Garrix, etc.) that I think brought down the quality of the weekend with people just there to be seen.

That's the thing, they've transitioned from their early days to being a massive, distorted, all-out beast of a live act. I've been a Brand New fan since buying Deja Entendu at Target with my mom in 2003 and the set was a triumph to me. The tent was so joyous and overpowering and felt like a bomb had just gone off. The crowd was perfect and was pretty much a backing chorus for the band singing along to every word. I can see how you could be disappointed if you just wanted some pop-punk songs from their early albums, but I thought the set was incredible.

yeah. thatwas pretty much the problem. hadnt listened to them in a decade and was looking for some nostalgia. Was just not what I expected and was about 15 feet from the front. People who knew more of the music seemed to be enjoying it though.

The Caribou, Todd Terje, Tame Impala slot is something that would really bother me if Tame Impala and Caribou weren't going to be at Outside Lands. But since they will be at OSL, I can see all of Todd Terje and maybe even a little bit of Flying Lotus before AC/DC.

How packed did things get for Jack White and AC/DC?

Going by the type of music I think you like...

    Benjamin Booker
    Kasabian
    War on Drugs
    Royal Blood
    Built to Spill
    Desaparecidos
St Paul and the Broken Bones
    Tame Impala
    Sturgill Simpson

Not sure how many of those you've heard of. They are all mostly guitar driven rock bands.

I hope so. I love finding new bands and it's been a while since I found one I really liked. Sturgill is pretty awesome but I can't really obsess over that type of music even though I appreciate it. Last album I couldn't stop listening to was AM by Arctic Monkeys and that was over a year ago.

A lot of message board rumblings suggest the following as headliners next year:

-Iron Maiden - announced tour dates this morning saying they are in Central America in March and the states in April. It has been a dream of one of the Coachella founders to get them to headline - people putting two and two together here.

-LCD Soundsystem (reunion) - a bunch of rumblings from people who claim to be connected saying they just signed up.

-David Gilmour - oddly playing a couple shows in the states in the fall then a couple right around Coachella in April. Someone claims they "got him."

Would be a very interesting trio, but I highly doubt they diverge that far from anything mainstream given the leanings of festivals the last few years. Maybe Gilmour subs and they end up with a Coldplay/Foo/Beyonce headliner or maybe one (or more) of the above are just plain false.

I have weekend one tickets but seriously dropped the ball on my hotel. Back before Coachella dates were released I booked a hotel at a great rate for the weekend I thought was going to be Weekend 1. It was a cancellable hotel and I didn't need to front any money, so looking back on it, I have no clue why I didn't just book for every week in April then cancel after dates were announced.

So, of course, W1 is a week later this year and I have the room booked at a great rate the weekend before Weekend 1. I can try to beg the hotel to push the reservation, but I may be looking for a house next year with buddies.

    http://www.ironmaiden.com/iron-maiden-and-the-book-of-souls-go-jumbo-on-massive-2016-world-tour.html

"Details of the precise schedule are currently being finalised and we will commence announcements of specific dates for the different territories in a few weeks’ time. However we can reveal that The Book Of Souls World Tour will open in the U.S.A in late February with Ed Force One flying in for three shows before, in early March, heading into Central America visiting MEXICO, followed by a much anticipated first ever concert in EL SALVADOR and a return to COSTA RICA. Ed Force One then proceeds into South America for concerts in ARGENTINA, CHILE and a number of shows in BRAZIL before flying back to the USA at the end of March for ten more cities covering the USA and, of course, CANADA in the first two weeks of April."

I think based on this plus the fact that Coachella's founders really want Maiden to perform, people are coming to conclusions a little quickly.

"The crew said they receive enough ticket requests to support more than four weekends of Coachella, but they have no plans to expand beyond two. Holy grail headliners for them still include David Bowie, Talking Heads and The Smiths (Fold would personally love to have Iron Maiden, as well)."
