Everything I see about this movie tells me it's essentially finished. It's been in development for two years now. By the time it comes out it will have had a three year production. That's a long time now-a-days (considering that the Star Wars movies are coming out in two year intervals now). I don't know why it won't release this year. It seems like it would be a great late July/early August release. It was originally announced in 2013 and pegged for a 2014 release, before being bumped to 2015 and then again to Spring 2016. Weird.
Yeah it definitely is. Its the voice from within his armored suit. We still haven't really heard his traditional batman voice.
In English. His voice sounds cool. My question is if casual fans will think this is just a rip off of the upcoming fight between Iron Man and Hulk in the new Avengers. He uses a super armor suit to fight against a stronger opponent just like this fight. I mean, comic book people will know the difference, but I don't know about the regular movie goers. http://www.vox.com/2015/4/16/8438743/batman-superman-dawn-of-justice-trailer
I think they might. I don't think enough people know that it's 2 completely different things and not related to each other.
Jeff Sneider @TheInSneider · 10h10 hours ago BREAKING on #MeetTheMoviePress: GREEN LANTERN expected to be JOHN STEWART, not Hal Jordan...
That's from the same guy that said he was 95% sure the new Spider-Man in the MCU would be Miles Morales.
Seems like they're tapping pretty hard into that "Dark Knight Returns" vibe. Batman's mecha-suit even looks very similar:
Making GL Stewart is what the Bruce Timm show did in order to have diversity. I figured we'd get Hal because Cyborg covers that aspect. Maybe they don't want any association with the bombed movie from a few years ago, although I doubt anyone even remembers that abortion of a film. Maybe they will reintroduce Hal later on. He's the essential GL so him not ever showing up in this universe would be surprising.
Must people under 20 consider John Stewart to be GL. Plus that shitty Ryan Reynolds movie. Give me Common or give me death.
So, Batman & Superman fight because of some misunderstanding, then become friends when they realize they are on the same side. Is this how it goes?
Essentially. The philosophical differences between them is kind of the emotional core of justice league stories so its actually a smart play to make this story the prelude to the two JL movies.
The only Batman that would ever carry a gun is the Thomas Wayne version..... Also if Snyder is trying to make it like Watchmen I can get on board with that.
I watched the trailer....... It's going to be hard to buy Affleck as Batman. BTW I definitely get that Watchmen vibe
To be fair, they are drawing really heavily from TDKR, and he does use a rifle to fire his grappling hook. Granted, that was before his hand grappling hooks were "invented," (doesn't make much sense why he'd have a badass Batmobile and a plane but no hand grapplers in the film) but they could just have him use the rifle to hook between two buildings farther apart than the hand grapplers will reach.
I honestly don't get the Affleck hate. I don't think he's an amazing actor or anything but I can't think of a movie he's ever ruined for me and I don't think either Bruce Wayne or Batman is a particularly challenging role to play. Wasn't Kevin Smith pretty involved in this? I know he is/was a huge Affleck proponent. Who would you rather see as in this role?
Affleck made some fairly poor career choices when he first hit it big, but I think once he started directing it made him a better actor. Ever since Hollywoodland, he's been pretty solid
Apparently Ben Affleck doesn't talk to Kevin Smith anymore. According to Kevin, Jen doesn't like his humor so she basically said they couldn't be friends
Yeah, the first time I saw that glowing eyes and helmet in the comic con teaser I figured they're pulling it straight from this. That, the costume, the symbol, and the bat mobile have me thinking its going to be the same type of deal. It looked like Affleck had grey hair on the sides too. May have just been the lighting in the trailer though.
I don't disagree with this. But there are other folks out there that would have been better received by comic books fans, IMO.
Oh so we're going the whole "team Superman" against "team Batman" thing are we? Well that's positively gay. Spoiler team Batman yo
Sweet. So it looks like they're going to be going with the "lower tech" Batsuit. Looks like the belt has pouches instead of super high tech gadgets. I wonder if the suit is just like that to make him look bigger or if they're going to "fluff" Affleck up for the movie?

Yeah I hadn't seen a lot of pics of him as Bruce, but even if puts on some muscle they can make him look bigger in his clothes too. The legs, chest and arms on that Batman statue a huge. Looks to be armour though and not just spandex like the comic.
