No, but I will look forward to some slutty pictures and also rage at the same time with all of the pics of the Ferris Wheel in the background.

Welp, I had my trip during the tmb crash. It was great. I feel like you guys deserve a write up for all the help you provided:

LA: liked it a lot more than I expected. stayed in west Hollywood, ate at pinks, ate at Sur, went to a lakers game. Found an AWESOME bar called No Vacancy off of Hollywood Blvd. Also went to a bar called. Mrs. fish. Went to Manny Pac's gym.

Laguna: ate at the cliff restaurant. Went to Thalia surf shop. Great town.

    new port: the wedge. Awesome.

Huntington: stayed at shore break hotel, which is great. Went to a decent Irish pub. Sushi on fire was a disappointment.

Long beach: meh. I probably needed to see more of it.

    Redondo: thought it seemed cool.

Santa Monica: saw nothing basically from the PCH.

Venice: I enjoyed myself. Met up with a friend. drank at Nikki's.

    Malibu: ate at nobu. Unbelievable.

Santa Barbara: greatest town I've ever been to. ate at the super rica, barbareno, and Cadiz. Awesome bars. Loved the wineries. Went whale watching. Loved the vibe.

*had a convertible the whole time.

I mean, it's a solid grocery store. It's no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's but it serves a purpose.

I'm not into the music at Coachella or Stagecoach, but being their back-to-back weekends might be pretty awesome. Coachella, bunch of hot hipster chicks.

Stagecoach, gorgeous O.C. country girls who dress like it's Halloween and party like crazy.

Where in Long Beach did you go? Also sorry that Sushi on Fire sucked, my cousin and his wife who is from Japan go there all of the time and say it is the best sushi place in HB.

Ralphs is like Kroger or Albertsons if they still have it in FL.

May go party w some friends at a hotel in Palm Springs.

Coachella is fun. I never am motivated to go until right about now though, then the regret sets in. Maybe the hotel party will be a happy medium for me.

I'm pretty sure it was just my specific order, although they were all special rolls. My sashimi salad was great. I guess there is a fairly new place near shorebreak that people like.

Yes. I guess because large chain grocery stores in Los Angeles ate pretty much the same thing. I don't consider whole foods or Trader Joe's big chain grocery stores.

Vons, Pavilions Albertsons Ralph's are pretty much the same thing.

I have Ralphs, Gelsons, Whole Foods, and Trader Joes all in essentially the same intersection.

Bristol Farms is my favorite of the overpriced stores... Food 4 Less is usually shit despite being the same company as Ralph's... Von's, Albertson's, and Ralph's depend on location and age of the store. I had a Ralph's in SD that was as nice and as clean as Bristol/Whole Foods.

There's a new market that's just moved into So Cal from the PNW called Haggens because Albertsons and Vons had to sell off some stores because of their merger. Seemed like the same store as the Albertsons that used to be there, which was a nice one.

But as pointed out, the big chains adapt to how the income levels are around the location of the store. Poorer areas I think now are just filled with Smart & Final Extra or Walmart markets these days.

That's the thing, you'd think you would but you don't. It's just as easy to get around town in SD, but you have access to so many more options. Bars, sports, food, sights, beaches - you name it.

Being from the Bay Area, having lived in LA and visited Santa Barbara often, San Diego earns its reputation as one of America's finest cities. I love it down here.

In this thread people have bitched about SD traffic. Does it have mountains (or similar to SB)? No wineries, right?

    Honest questions.

Yes, SD has lots of hills throughout the city and mountains - however as they are backed up against a desert, they are a little drier in parts. Traffic isn't bad in SD by California standards at all. As far as wineries, there are some in Ramona, Temecula, and some other East County realms, but they aren't as nice as SB or on par with Napa/Sonoma.

Santa Barbara is great but pretty small. I'd probably live in Cardiff by the Sea/Solana Beach/Del Mar/La Jolla if I had to move from Orange Country. Traffic in SD nowhere near as bad as LA.

Word, I would definitely live closer to the beach and commute to LH. Newport, Laguna Beach, Dana Hills would all be reasonable.

Meant Dana Point, not Dana Hills.

But I would guess anywhere from $1k-$1.5k for a 1 bed. I personally would rather be closer to the beach and more of the bar scene etc. is over by the beach. It also depends on what you prefer to do and what you can afford. LH or Mission Viejo, Lake Forest are fine, but for a single guy it wouldn't be my preference to live there.

$50,000 in Southern California would not be an enjoyable existence. You're going to blow all of your money on cocaine and alcohol if you're single, and have almost no chance to save up for anything other than renting, especially at 29.
