Copa America. He was put on the prelim roster and we'll find out in like 2 weeks if he is actually on the team and if he is he will miss a bunch of games. I don't think he will though.
No Okugo tonight because the MLS yellow card accumulation rule might be the worst rule in sports. Higuita should get the start in his place. Other 10 should be the same.
It is the same shit every match with this club. A killer giveaway in middle 3rd and a defender have a massive mental shit to allow goals. The excuses that people are making are just not flying anymore. The Front Office loves the panic button and not pressing it. If Heath can not get these to stop making the same damn mistakes every match then it is time to find someone that can.
this game turned when we replaced our best defender with the worst and youngest. Although the first goal is not on Turner, it was Ramos who lost his mark on the back door way too easily. The second goal was all on Turner although it was a great run/goal. I was shocked to not see Bodden move to CB when Turner got in. Kaka was invisible even during our run of good play. Shea was gassed/hurt, hell even walking out onto the field he was limping.
Us Open Cup draw is complete. We will travel to Charleston Battery or host the Ft Lauderdale Strikers in the 4th round.
If there's a God, my work will send me up to Charleston 2 days early after we draw them. The hotel we use is across the street from the stadium.
sooooooooo, that was an interesting match. We are finding very creative ways to shot ourselves in the foot and lose players. Any word if Collin will be back soon?
We go to Charleston for the Cup match. Saturday is too early for Collin to return. It will be at Chicago or vs DC when he comes back if you read between the lines in the comments from Heath's show the other night.
Stadium to be 25-28k to start and will now be owned by the club not the City. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...ity-soccer-stadium-update-20150529-story.html
Wow that is crazy and smart. Was at an event Wednesday with Phil and he was definitely in a good mood talking to the mayor.
Surprised it took them this long to find the money needed to go private. Wonder if it will come out that that money is coming from a stadium sponsor.
Will have to be a nice part but that is usually paid in annual installments. Probably realized the benefits of controlling every aspect of the revenue at that size venue makes the most sense.
Yeah had seen that discussed from the beginning about funding the stadium. The biggest take away is the ability to draw some of the bigger international friendlies with the increased size. Hopefully it sees Orlando replace Tampa on the national team circuit.
Joe Kepner @JKepnerWFTV Was told idea to privately fund @OrlandoCitySC stadium was Flavio's. Tired of waiting on politicians. Plan came together over last week.
29k with the ability to maybe add some temps seats to get to 30-32k for really big games would be awesome. Would love to see it become the place we play Euro squads who couldn't handle the heat.
That game was frustrating as fuck. I just don't have words for that. Thank fuck Ribeiro showed up. I'm ready to dump Rivas. He hasn't done a single god damn thing right in any game.
Last night was my first game. Pretty sure, first of many. But that was frustrating to watch. So many opportunities and the small opportunities the Crew had they made the most of.
Rivas is not even the worst DP on the roster. Rochez does not make the 18 when everyone is fit. But hey he did score 2 against the Uzbeks today including the winner in stoppage time at the U20WC.
Desperate attempt to get more Latinos involved with our fanbase. THEY ALREADY FUCKING LOVED KAKA. I imagine we could've done a fuck ton better with those 2 DP slots currently utilized by Rivas and Rochez. I still imagine one or both will come good but it's stupid we had to tempt either here with the promise of that much pay for what they've accomplished.
DPs especially younger DPs have been pretty hit or miss especially on the lower end of the DP salary bracket. I would expect at least one to develop into a pretty good MLS player given time to adjust to a new team and a new league. You don't have to pay them high end money and can also sell them on for a nice profit if they develop like Fabian Castillo at FCD. Few seem to have an immediate impact. Vast majority never seem to develop into much more than above-average MLS players. You seem to have to fork over Kaka/Giovinco type money to almost guarantee an All-Star level player.
That was a lot of fun. David Accam tore us to shreds all night. Dude is the real deal. Really miserable for Adailton. 2 own goals that were going in anyway and he is responsible for the giveaway on Larin's blast. Not sure there's been a worse statistical performance by a defender in the history of the league. He's the first to be credited with 2 own goals. Neal and Avila were horrendous and wasteful all night. I was begging for Rivas to come on in place of Neal. Kaka, Ceren, and Higuita did a fine job possessing in the midfield yet again. And our back line was solid when they weren't dealing with the speed of Accam. Collin and Boden are just terrific. Ramos had to deal with too much speed to be truly effective but he had some great touches on the attack last night.
i think Ceren is a really good player i really don't like Collin, not sure why but every game i seem to come away more furious about him
I have to be in Orlando for a conference that ends on Saturday, August 1st. OCFC play Columbus that night and since I have to spend the night in Orlando I would like to go to the game. Where would you recommend staying for the game? Ideally, I would walk to the game from the hotel, but want to stay in a safe area. Next option would be walk to rail line and take rail to the game. What/where would you recommend?
That seems like it wont work. Best bet would probably be a hotel downtown like the Grand Bohemien or something and cab the 10 blocks or so west thought he rough part of the town to the C-Bowl. I'm sure others more familiar with Downtown like Mix would provide better guidance though.
There's an Aloft downtown within walking distance of the bars and whatnot. Shuttles run from just in front of the police station to the stadium and back before and after the matches for no charge. It's about .4 mile walk from that Aloft to the shuttles. prerecordedlive and I parked under I-4, had a couple of drinks at Church Street, then shuttled over with our cooler. I think August 1st is the last game I'll be living in Orlando for, so I may be able to help you out/hook you up with somewhere to tailgate if you're interested.
Thanks. Yes. I couldn't find any options around the stadium, so that looks like a no go. There are a few hotels about a .5 miles walk to that Police Station, so that seems like it is probably the best bet unless Orlando People say otherwise. I wouldn't mind stopping by a tailgate. Not sure if you want relatively old by TMB standards (33) and married people dragging down your tailgate though. Haha
Stay at Aloft, Grand Bohemian, or Embassy Suites. Embassy is furthest away but also probably the best idea. Should be cheapest, has the open bar thing, and the free buses go right in front of the place. Plus my shop is like a block away.
stopped by there a few weeks back but caught it right before close. I didn't want to be that guy that comes in as they were closing up, but the alcoholic pops piqued my interest.
