You can get around 10-20% off. Just be subtle and don't go in demanding a discount. Something along the lines of "If you can knock $XX off, I'll take it." Then let the negotiating begin.
I think i may not be able to try that. Supposedly the watch I want will have to be ordered. They said it might be ready by the fall.
Since this is trust tree and all. I have a deferred comp account that I'm thinking of cashing out and buying this Omega. I figure it's an every day wear (not at work obviously) that I can dress up with leather bands.
What it looks like with a brown alligator band http://www.authenticwatches.com/omega-planet-ocean-29005037.html#.VVfOLhj3aK3
Would look good on zulus with both silver and black hardware. ebay is a rabbit hole for inexpensive options and watch tools.
I kicked it around and came to the conclusion that if I'm dropping 4 or 5 large on a watch, I'm getting one I know I'll wear more often than I dont.
You don't have to be discreet about shit. Every dealer I've ever dealt with is completely forthcoming. They straight tell you the % off list price they can take. Got like 15% off a Rolex and 18 off an AP.
stric006 do y'all carry eco-drives? I've seen a couple I like, think that may be what I go with for now.
While this is true, they will only provide this discount verbally & will not give you anything in writing The Tissot I just received from the "wife" was custom ordered with the strap I wanted (milanese strap only came with black face & I wanted silver)... The rep made it happen & all told, I got a 35% discount & free shipping from an authorized dealer.
Bought this shinola: http://www.shinola.com/shop/new-arrivals/therunwell47-sport-chrono-s01167.html Love it so far.
http://watchbase.com/breitling/superocean/a17392d8-c910-162a I think I'm gonna buy this next week- anyone have any reason not to? Gonna put $1500 down and just do the rest on 12month 0% interest
You getting a deal through an authorized dealer? If not, let me know... I have a guy that might be able to get you a deal
I saw one of those Shinolas on a thinner dude today. 47mm was enormous on him. edit - found a pic of what he kinda looked like:
I'm a fairly large Polish kid from South Chicago- it fits me well. Yes through a dealer- only thing bad is having to pay IL sales tax. I'm gonna see if they will ship it to my "father" in IN so we don't have to pay taxes.
Skinny hipsters in Chicago have been rocking the Shinolas hard lately- its a pretty distinct watch easy to spot The Shinola store in Wicker Park is awesome
I have what I think are pretty small wrists too, and there's no way I could (or would I guess) wear a 44 mm regularly. 41 or 42 is about the max size that I think looks normal on my wrist. They will (unless there's a dealer in IN iirc). The watch I bought with my dad we got in IL and had shipped to IA to avoid sales tax.
42mm is usually the max for me, but my Hamilton Officer mechanical is 44mm & gets more wear than anything else
Thinking about getting a Victorinox Inox for everyday wear. It's nice enough that I'd wear it out, but not so expensive that I wouldn't wear it at work. Retails for 575-600 but jomashop has it for under 300. Should tide me over until I get the Omega.
I'm looking to trade or sell my Tag if anyone's interested. Just wanting to change things up. Shoot me a PM. Spoiler
So what are some suggestions on this? I have been looking for a shinola for a while but didn't want to pay the top dollar when I figured I could spend the money on other, better known brands. well.... the deal slapped me in the face on saturday. I pulled the trigger. I love the band, size, etc. The face color is awesome with the ivory, antique look. My only gripe is the gold numbers..... It's not that bad, but considering the money I spent on it, I don't want keep it if I'm not just completely happy with it. I guess I'm just looking for my TMB friend opinions.
I like Shinolas, but wouldn't pull the trigger on one, unless heavily discounted... in to the Fossil or designer watch range. Fuck Detroit. The face / gold is my favorite part of the watch, fwiw
By the way zales is running 25% off all their watches except Mavados and then I picked up another 10% off with a military ID.
New work watch, got a steal on a signature collection, the poly band with the clasp is like sex on the wrist
I'm a brand whore and I have a burberry and a michael kors and I'm wondering if I overpaid for the name because no one has mentioned them halp me I'm dumb
Can't remember if I had posted this, but the wife got me the Hamilton Khaki Field Officer as well as the Visodate... Love having a manual wind in the rotation
obviously I'm bad at watches but real talk those eli manning citizen commercials made me think they were a really shitty brand
