I dont know why articles like this piss me off, but they do. They're technically not a spoiler, but they are. http://www.brobible.com/entertainment/article/game-of-thrones-theory-death-spoilers-resurrection/
I thought that is meant to imply that Tyrion could be a Targareon. Especially with his fascination for dragons and dreams of riding one.
pretty mad, mad enough to stop watching all together, wait for the winds of winter and then if I felt inclined finish the tv series.
I assumed that was just a small mercy to bookfags, so we didn't get spoiled for TWOW, having a shred of doubt about Stannis being dead. but, then again the show don't give a fuck about spoilning shit so idk?
Just curious but in the book how does Varys get this vast spy network? This may have been explained but I've forgotten. Does he have some vast fortune that he gives them or something? Iirc most of his spies are kids
Illyrio is his partner and his fortune is relative to the size of his man boobs. That is a lot of money.
that plus Varys is probably very good at cultivating non-monetary motives such as revenge, self-worth, trading for favors, etc
From the wiki page Spoiler By that time the mummers had sailed and Varys was left alone. He resorted to begging, prostitution and thievery and soon was as good a thief as any in Myr, eventually becoming recognized as the best thief in the city until a rival forced him out and he fled to Pentos.[6] In Pentos, Varys befriended a poor sellsword named Illyrio Mopatisand they started a business where Varys would steal objects from lesser thieves and Illyrio would get the objects back for their original owners for a small fee. Soon, every man and woman in Pentos who ever had valuables stolen from them all knew who to ask to get their valuables back. In addition, the thieves in Pentos soon began to seek Illyrio and Varys out, half to try (and failing) to kill them, the other half to sell them the objects they stole in order to prevent Varys from stealing them back. Varys and Illyrio grew very rich. Varys came to the realization that information was much more valuable than gold and gems and began training his spy network, then known as "little mice", to acquire the information, letters, ledgers and charts of the wealthy and powerful. The "mice" were orphans purchased by Varys; he chose those that were small, quick, and quiet, and taught them to read and write, as well as the skills required for sneak thievery such as climbing walls and slipping down chimneys, so that they might copy the information Varys desired without disturbing or alarming their targets. These secrets increased Varys and Illyrio's wealth tenfold, and in time Varys became so infamous that word of his talents reached the ears of King Aerys across the narrow sea, who in his growing paranoia no longer trusted his son, his wife, or his Hand.
The fact that Stannis' 'last words' were "Do your duty" is the part that leads me to believe he's not dead. I think that phrase is going to resonate with Brienne, and she's going to realize that Sansa is in trouble, and that she needs to let that Renly shit go. Maybe she sees the candle in the tower out of the corner of her eye right before the sword hits and pulls it away.
Perhaps that was due to Ramsay's inexperience in battle, I doubt that's what D&D intended given how they made Ramsay seem like he's the best military mind in Westeros.
The biggest issue with almost everything in the show this season was the ridiculous timing of it all. - Sand Snakes and Jamie/Bronn arrive at the exact same moment to kidnap Myrcella - Jon and Tormund arrive right when the White Walker/wights arrive - Meryn Trant arrives right when Arya would see him - Sansa lights the candle seconds after it would be seen by a patient Brienne Westeros/Essos are huge. Timing like this doesn't just happen.
Game of Thrones: somewhat more realistic edition - is 600 hours long - at some point people's paths will cross and shit happens, the other 585 hours of nothing much happening is just a narrator reading George describing food
It was much worse this season than in others. That's all. They cut corners like mad men to make everything happen quickly.
He better get some, while he still can, Ramsay is going to gut her. I look forward to the Bolton vs. Frey battle, a war where all casualties are greeted with applause.
Winterfell will be an interesting mess in the show. In the books we have evidence of many Northmen not being all in on the Boltons, and the Manderleys are actively working against them... and Stannis may even win the Battle of Winterfell? In the show, no plots on the inside (that we know of), the battle is over and was barely a thing... are they just sitting there to be the first target of the Walkers once they get through the Wall?
the Boltons are in such a weird place in the show. got were they were by aligning with the Lannisters then married their heir to the person charged with murdering the Lannister king and defeated the other person claiming to be king. basically they're hoping to rally the North under Sansa I guess? meanwhile they murdered her brother who was King of the North. it really all makes very little sense.
Yeah, my tin foil hat thinks maybe LSH and her crew stopped Brienne from killing Stannis and then LSH will then tell her her duty is to find Jaime and bring him to her- somewhat similar to the books.
Where the fuck are Sansa and Theon going to go with no food, no horses, and no camping supplies? I suppose plot will have Stannis and Brienne find them.
Fucking this. I guess the idea is that peasants have short memories and don't care as long as they're fed and protected? And somehow Sansa being around is a good feeling?
Speaking of shitty Dorne plot lines, with Myrcella assumed dead, didn't the sand snakes basically just make Tristane a ward/bargaining chip? Or, why wouldn't Jaime just gut him immediately and hang him from the mast of the ship?
it's like they've completely forgotten how the northern culture is different; they say that northmen are different but outside of a letter to stannis from Lyanna Mormont & an old woman and a candle (meh) there's virtually no evidence of it in the show.
yea another thing that doesn't make much sense. I have a feeling we're going to be doing a lot of this while we wait for the next season/book.
GRRM takes a millennia (obviously) to map these books. Whenever things start to seem implausible or contrived on the show, it's 9 times out of 10 a modification or invented scenario by the showrunners.
Prince Doran has yet to prove, show or books, that he's the mastermind everyone seems to think he is.
Show writers said in a article stannis and myrcella are dead and theon and Sansa are alive. This isn't spoilers it's just them fixing how shitty they left both deaths. http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/06/game-of-thrones-finale-cliffhangers
Yeah, Trystane is as good as dead. I can't think of what they could get for him (other than golden dragons) from Dorne.
Well now we gotta wait for a year. What I think happens is Mel brings Jon back. Jon then puts Thorne's head on a spike. Jon and the wildlings attack the Boltons at Winterfell. What are the chances the Vale actually does something know? Maybe LF rallies them to find Sansa?
What the fuck is Brienne supposed to do once she sees that candle anyways? Was she gonna just bust in Winterfell, snag Sansa, and that's that?
my thoughts on what happens after the finale... Jon Snow gets revived by Melisandre and his allegiance to the Nights Watch ends. When Jamie gets back to King's Landing with dead Myrcella, Cersei sends him to the Nights Watch and he becomes the 1,000th lord commander and leads the war against the white walkers
