Cersei has to survive her trial by combat first... We'll see who the Sparrows put up against Robert Strong
Ser Loras is crippled and dying right now on Dragon Stone .... So maybe he will have to fight his, and will injured in the show? Who knows
Do you think that this implies that Jaime will somehow fight zombie Gregor? He's armored like the sun, right? I could totally see Sandor dying horribly at the hands of the zombie. That's such a GRRM thing to do.
Also, I always thought it was cheesy in the books how it's implied that people are just going along with this new member of the Kingsguard. Gregor was like 8 feet tall, I'm sure there aren't very many of those types walking around. Nobody seems to be asking questions. "Oh he just doesn't talk much."
I figure cersie is gonna start murdering the faith with Qyburn babies as soon as she gets done with her bath. She aint fooling with none of this faith nonsense no more. Gregor is snatching up that nun for cersie in the next episode. This trend will continue until Greg signs with the whitewalkers and Jaime and Sandor have to put him down.
I don't think it's at all assured that the Clegane Bowl will be Cersei's trial by combat. It could take place later, in another context.
That vision can't be the trial by combat. Unless the faith could choose 2 people. Not sure how Oberyn could be the golden one either.
Yea I see how it could be him, but at the same time I can't see how it could be him considering he got his head smashed to pieces described in gruesome detail.
Stannis' death has to be pretty deep into TWoW because it's going to take Brienne a long ass time to get to Winterfell.
I watched this scene again. They put way too much detail in here for it all not to go down like we think it will.
So much fucking mystery surrounding Stannis. If he's going to burn Shireen, he's going to survive the Battle of Winterfell to get back to the Wall. Which mean Ramsay and Roose and the Freys are dead (or alternatively they run, but Stannis would hunt them down). Which means that the Pink Letter is a lie. Or Someone else burns Shireen at the Wall in his absence. But why make Stannis burn her in the show if she and Mel could have stayed at the Wall? Maybe the writers have a hardon for hating Stannis.
Wun Wun doesn't let good meat go to waste and tries to make salt-crusted Jon Snow, and then he is born of salt and smoke
Her and Pod's magic cock were gonna just waltz up to the gate and go "knock knock", then fuck all their shit up
Stannis and Littlefinger have both been written in the show as kind of sinister when they were more nuanced in the books. Leads me to believe that grrm told the writers something about those characters that we don't know yet (or we know now about Stannis). They couldn't let the audience sort of pull for a guy and then have him burn his daughter alive. That is my guess at least.
It's been awhile since I've read the books, but I recall Littlefinger being pretty damn sinister in the books.
Maybe I just read him wrong in the books. He and Tyrion were my favorite characters but I don't really like Littlefinger on the show. He definitely does some shady shit, but because of his birth he doesn't really have a choice if he wants to play in the big leagues. On the show he just seems to be a constant sleaze.
I don't even like Stannis but I don't think he's "sinister". He does what he believes he MUST do, even if he doesn't WANT to do it.
You guys know it's extremely likely WW finish the season script and filming before the book comes out, if it does come out within the year. They can't wait until December to start shooting Next season is gonna be rough imo
my assumption, however naive, is that he's definitely going to get the book out before next season starts,
It's not naive... It just isn't at all realistic. We already know it isn't going to be published this year... That leaves, what, four months next year for him to beat the show?
that's going to happen regardless. I can deal with it if I have the book to comfort me. if all I have is the show it will be exponentially worse.
To fuck with us book readers? Why have the Biter scene if Brienne was just going to kill the Hound anyway? GRRM will always be Coy about Jon Snow's fate, but everyone involved with the show are flat out saying that Kit is done. They'd be better off leaving us in suspense and instead they're telling us to move along. This is Lady Stoneheart all over again.
