They need to step it up for season 2. Season 1 was just good enough for a 2nd season but it needs to pick up
It needs to be better. Mad Men is my favorite show so I can embrace a slow developing show. I don't love any of the characters, the plot hasn't been particularly engaging, the dialogue isn't remarkable. I think it has potential but I want more than its given me.
It's not that I thought it was bad. I don't think it did very well in the ratings and there doesn't seem to be much buzz about it. Like I said, I think it has potential and I really like Joe's character potential
I agree its going to have to do something to draw interest. Seems like it was right on the cancel/renew line. Really glad it made it because I really like the show.
AMC seems go give their shows a longer leash. If this was on any it other channel, it would be dead. Same w Turn. As I said earlier BB's ratings were crap in S01. They left it alone and were rewarded. I think that makes AMC give a little more leeway than other channels
i dont think they really need to do anything crazy new it was great first season, it got very good reviews
Alan Sepinwall @sepinwall 11s11 seconds ago Really enjoying new eps of “Halt and Catch Fire” (5/31). Continues the bounce in its step from late in s1. Looks great, cool music, etc.
I believe it coincided with S3 of BB. It's doubtful that they were ever in direct competition but AMC wasn't the juggernaut it is now.

http://grantland.com/hollywood-pros...ent-season-2-makeover-of-halt-and-catch-fire/ season 2 starts sunday, getting some pretty good reviews
Every review I've seen has been positive. Basically just continuing to build from last season. When some friend ask if they should watch it, I obviously tell them to, but do my best not to overhype it. It's not going to blow you away, but it's just a cool show. I think I was so high on it was because I had no expectations for it, and ended up really liking it.
not rubicon (or maybe still with rubicon, considering the non-existent ratings. but still ) just catching up on the first season now in time for the premier tonight. it did in fact really get going towards the end there. just watched ep 9 - such a great ending with the macintosh. "what's wrong?" "...it talks"
i wouldn't say it was a "great" first season. it had a very very strong ending and sounds like season 2 picks up for there, which is great to hear.
Loved yesterday's episode. This show is getting better and better. I sure hope it doesn't get cancelled.
That was the best episode they have ever done. I hope Gordon dies and they cast me to play the new husband to Donna.
I started this show on a whim two weeks ago. Thought S1 was a little inconsistent the first half of S1 and then really picked up steam the last half. This season has had a totally different focus in storyline but it keeps getting better and better. Glad I started it. Spoiler By the way, I love the real-life drops they place into the show. Legit cringed when I heard "Nintendo" at the grandmother's house. Just knowing that's what Mutiny/the characters are swimming head on into.
Finally caught up. I was consistently a week or 2 behind and finally watched the last 2 episodes tonight. Oh man this has been a really good season.
I hope it doesn't get cancelled b/c I have no idea if people watch it or not. Would be a shame b/c it's definitely hitting its stride.
i'm trying to find some ratings, but i read something that the dvr ratings are what's keeping it alive. hopefully that's something, because i don't think there is even a cult following big enough for somewhere like netflix to pick it up.
it's #4 in terms of percentage increase, but it goes from a .1 rating to a .3 rating when factoring in 7 days of dvr (which doesn't really mean much to amc). http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...oli-isles-rises-most-in-viewers-in-li/426897/ so basically, it's not great. but hopefully amc sticks with it because this show is great
