I think they can use Haywood's contract for a player that makes up to 13 million

Haywood is probably going to be used for a JR replacement. I just can't see wade happening. DeRozan and Rudy Gay are the names bouncing around RCF but I don't know how realistic either is. Not sure how well they fit either.

A wing or a combo guard from a team that's looking to dump salary in anticipation of 2016.

I'm really not sure we will end up getting anything really of value for it. The teams wanting to clear that space I'm just not sure they'll have and be willing to part with what we will need

I usually don't get into the NBA offseason but I am really interested this summer to see what moves the Cavs make to surround Lebron. Alls they need is 1 or 2 nice acquisitions and they will be absolutely dominant barring injuries.

I'd bring Lebron, Love, Shump, TT, and Delly back.

I'd use part of the MLE on someone like Rodney Stuckey and I have no idea what they'll do about the Haywood contract but the way they talk about it, it sounds like they have someone lined up to deal with.

Stuckey would be a nice fit. They definitely going to let JR walk??

They'd like to have him back but they want him at about half of what he wants to make.

If the Cavs can land Stuckey I think he is a much better fit for the Cavs than JR anyway.

    [IMG]Cleveland Cavaliers

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPE ($635,816)

Cap Holds: LeBron James ($22 million), Kevin Love ($18.8 million), Tristan Thompson ($11.9 million – R), J.R. Smith ($9.8 million) Iman Shumpert ($6.5 million – R), Mike Miller ($3.2 million, provided he opts out), Matthew Dellavedova ($1.1 million – R), Kendrick Perkins ($947k), Shawn Marion ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: Brendan Haywood ($10.5 million)

Maximum Cap Space: $31.6 million, RE

Note: The Cavaliers could have serious cap room, or end up a luxury tax team. The latter is more likely, which would take away the MLE and BAE and add the MMLE. Haywood’s contract could prove to be an extremely valuable tool, since a team acquiring (and then cutting) the center can send the Cavaliers a high-salaried player in return.

    2015-16 Team-By-Team Salary Summary
The following is a breakdown of the financial position of all 30 NBA franchises, estimating the salary cap for the 2015-16 at $67.1 million.

Teams that go under the cap gain a $2.8 million room exception (RE), but lose their mid-level (MLE) of $5.5 million, bi-annual (BAE) of $2.1 million and any trade (TPE) exceptions.

Maximum salaries project to be $15.7 million for players with up to six years of experience, $18.8 million for those with seven to nine years and $22 million for those in the league for 10 years or more.

The luxury tax threshold projects to be $81.7 million, with the hard cap at $85.7 million — only triggered when a team uses their MLE, BAE or acquire a player via sign and trade.

Tax teams can spend the taxpayer mid-level exception (MMLE) of $3.4 million, not the full MLE or BAE.

Players with an R after their cap hold are restricted free agents, although teams have to make qualifying offers first (before July).

    [IMG]Atlanta Hawks

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Paul Millsap ($12.4 million), DeMarre Carroll ($3.2 million), Elton Brand ($2.6 million), John Jenkins ($2.2 million), Pero Antic ($1.6 million – R)

Non-Guaranteed: Austin Daye ($1.2 million), Mike Muscala ($947k).

Maximum Cap Space: $24.9 million, RE

Note: Hawks have early-Bird rights for Millsap and Carroll, not full.

    Atlanta Hawks Team Salary

    [IMG]Boston Celtics

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($13.9 million, $7.7 million, $1.3 mil, $1.3 million, $690k, $625k, $500k, $286k, $153k)

Cap Holds: Brandon Bass ($10.4 million), Jonas Jerebko ($8.6 million), Luigi Datome ($2.3 million- R), Jae Crowder ($1.2 million – R)

    Non-Guaranteed: Phil Pressey ($947k), Chris Babb ($947k)

Maximum Cap Space: $23.7 million, RE

Note: The Celtics may have more flexibility staying over the cap, using their trade exceptions.

    Boston Celtics Team Salary

    [IMG]Brooklyn Nets

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($3.3 million, $2.3 million, $1.4 million, $1.1 million, $816k)

Cap Holds: Brook Lopez ($18.8 million), Thaddeus Young ($14.5 million), Mirza Teletovic ($6.4 million – R), Alan Anderson ($1.7 million, provided he opts out), Jerome Jordan ($1.1 million – R)

Non-Guaranteed: Earl Clark ($1.2 million), Darius Morris ($1.0 million), Markel Brown ($845k), Cory Jefferson ($845k)

Note: If both Lopez, Teletovic and Young re-sign, the Nets likely reach the tax and drop from the MLE and BAE to just the MMLE.

    Brooklyn Nets Team Salary

    [IMG]Charlotte Hornets

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($646k, $548k)

Cap Holds: Bismack Biyombo ($9.7 million – R), Mo Williams ($4.8 million), Jeff Taylor ($1.2 million – R), Jason Maxiell ($947k)

Note: Kemba Walker’s extension kicks at $12 million for the coming season.

    Charlotte Hornets Team Salary

    [IMG]Chicago Bulls

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Kirk Hinrich ($5.2 million, provided he opts out), Jimmy Butler ($5.1 million- R), Mike Dunleavy Jr. ($4.3 million), Aaron Brooks ($947k), Nazr Mohammed ($947k)

    Partially-Guaranteed: E’Twaun Moore ($1.0 million, $425k guaranteed), Cameron Bairstow ($845k, $425k guaranteed)

Note: If the Bulls give Butler a maximum qualifying offer, the smallest offer sheet teams can give the restricted free agent is for three years in length. Butler can still turn down a maximum offer for one year at $4.4 million, to take advantage of the 2016-17 television deal, but that should be considered the less-likely decision.

    Chicago Bulls Team Salary

    Cleveland Cavaliers Team Salary

    [IMG]Dallas Mavericks

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Tyson Chandler ($22 million), Rajon Rondo ($18.8 million), Monta Ellis ($10.9 million), Bernard James ($1.2 million – R), Charlie Villanueva ($947k), Greg Smith ($947k), Richard Jefferson ($947k), Amar’e Stoudemire ($947k), Al-Farouq Aminu ($947k), J.J. Barea ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: Dwight Powell ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $30.2 million, RE

Note: Cap holds have a significant impact on the Mavericks’ spending power. The team will seriously consider letting Chandler, Rondo and Ellis walk in free agency – provided they can lure more preferable free agents.

    Dallas Mavericks Team Salary

    [IMG]Denver Nuggets

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($11.3 million, $7.5 million, $972k, $915k)

Cap Holds: Darrell Arthur ($6.6 million), Jameer Nelson ($3.3 million), Will Barton ($1.2 million – R), Ian Clark ($1.1 million – R)

Non-Guaranteed: Randy Foye ($3.1 million), Erick Green ($845k, $100k guaranteed), Jamaal Franklin ($947k)

Maximum Cap Space: $9.8 million, RE

Note: The Nuggets may be more likely to stay over the cap, given their sizable McGee and Afflalo trade exceptions.

    Denver Nuggets Team Salary

    [IMG]Detroit Pistons

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($1.1 million, $796k)

Cap Holds: Tayshaun Prince ($11.6 million), Greg Monroe ($10.4 million), Reggie Jackson ($5.5 million – R), Joel Anthony ($7.2 million), John Lucas III ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Anthony Tolliver ($3 million, $400k guaranteed), Quincy Miller ($981k)

Maximum Cap Space: $26.3 million, RE

Note: Cartier Martin will reportedly opt in. The team has also reportedly guaranteed the remainder of Tolliver’s contract. If so, a more-reasonable maximum cap number is $23.5 million, provided Monroe walks as a free agent.

    Detroit Pistons Team Salary

    [IMG]Golden State Warriors

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

    Cap Holds: Draymond Green ($2.7 million – R), Justin Holiday ($1.1 million – R), Ognjen Kuzmic ($1.1 million – R), Leandro Barbosa ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: James McAdoo ($845k, $100k guaranteed)

Team Option: Marreese Speights ($3.8 million)

Note: The Warriors are likely to be a tax team, losing their MLE and BAE for the MMLE — although finding a taker for David Lee’s contract could change the Warriors’ economic picture.

    Golden State Warriors Team Salary

    [IMG]Houston Rockets

Current: No space, MLE, TPEs ($1.6 million, $816k, $816k, $390k)

Cap Holds: Jason Terry ($8.8 million), Corey Brewer ($6.1 million), Patrick Beverley ($2.7 million – R), Josh Smith ($2.5 million), K.J. McDaniels ($1.0 million – R)

Non-Guaranteed: Kostas Papanikolaou ($4.8 million, Pablo Prigioni ($1.7 million, $440k guaranteed)

Maximum Cap Space: $9.5 million, RE

Note: The Rockets would have to move contracts to be a major player in free agency.

    Houston Rockets

    [IMG]Indiana Pacers

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: David West ($18.0 million), Luis Scola ($9.3 million), Chris Copeland ($4.1 million), C.J. Watson ($2.7 million), Shayne Whittington ($1.0 million – R), Lavoy Allen ($947k), Donald Sloan ($947k)

Maximum Cap Space: $11.5 million, RE

Note: The Pacers can have cap space if West and Scola leave, or re-sign on the cheap. Both may move on. If the Pacers look to move Roy Hibbert, he has a 15 percent trade kicker worth about $2.3 million.

    Indiana Pacers Team Salary

    [IMG]Los Angeles Clippers

Current: No space, MLE, TPE ($915k)

Cap Holds: DeAndre Jordan ($18.8 million), Austin Rivers ($3.1 million), Hedo Turkoglu ($947k), Ekpe Udoh ($947k), Dahntay Jones ($947k), Glen Davis ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Jamal Crawford ($5.7 million, $1.5 million guaranteed), Jordan Hamilton ($1.1 million), Lester Hudson ($1.1 million)

Note: If Jordan re-signs, the Clippers are likely to be above the tax, losing their MLE while gaining the MMLE.

    Los Angeles Clippers Team Salary

    [IMG]Los Angeles Lakers

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Carlos Boozer ($22 million), Jeremy Lin ($12.6 million), Vander Blue ($1.1 million – R), Wayne Ellington ($947k), Wesley Johnson ($947k), Ronnie Price ($947k), Ed Davis ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Robert Sacre ($981k), Jordan Clarkson ($845k), Tarik Black ($845k), Jabari Brown ($845k)

Team Option: Jordan Hill ($9 million)

Maximum Cap Space: $23.7 million, RE

Note: Because the Lakers won’t cut Clarkson, and probably don’t drop Sacre, Black or Brown, the more-accurate maximum cap space number is $22.2 million — provided the team opts Hill out and renounces Boozer, Lin and others.

    Los Angeles Lakers Team Salary

    [IMG]Memphis Grizzlies

Current: No space, MLE, TPEs ($968k, $396k)

Cap Holds: Marc Gasol ($18.8 million), Kosta Koufos ($5.7 million), Nick Calathes ($1.1 million – R)

Non/Partially-Guaranteed: Matt Barnes ($3.5 million, $1 million guaranteed), Beno Udrih ($2.2 million, $923k guaranteed), JaMychal Green ($845k, $150k guaranteed), Russ Smith ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $16.2 million, RE

Note: If Gasol returns, the Grizzlies won’t fall under the cap.

    Memphis Grizzlies Team Salary

    [IMG]Miami HEAT

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Dwyane Wade ($22.0 million, provided he opts out), Luol Deng ($11.7 million, provided he opts out), Goran Dragic ($11.3 million), Michael Beasley ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Henry Walker ($1.1 million), Hassan Whiteside ($981k), James Ennis ($845k), Tyler Johnson ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $21.6 million, RE

Note: A better number is $21.1 million, because there is all but no chance Miami cuts Whiteside. If Wade, Dragic and others are back, Miami won’t have cap space.

    Miami HEAT Team Salary

    [IMG]Milwaukee Bucks

    Current: $9.3 million, RE

Cap Holds: Khris Middleton ($2.7 million – R)

Non-Guaranteed: Caron Butler ($4.5 million), Shawne Williams ($1.4 million), Jorge Gutierrez ($947k)

Player’s Early Termination Option: Jared Dudley ($4.3 million)

Maximum Cap Space: $23.1 million, RE

Note: The Bucks have $20.3 million in cap room with Middleton’s qualifying offer.

    Milwaukee Bucks Team Salary

    [IMG]Minnesota Timberwolves

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($6.3 million, $2.8 million, $1.5 million, $816k, $500k)

Cap Holds: Kevin Garnett ($18.0 million), Gary Neal ($4.2 million), Robbie Hummel ($1.1 million – R), Arinze Onuaku ($1.1 million – R), Justin Hamilton (1.1 million – R)

    Non-Guaranteed: Lorenzo Brown ($947k)

Note: The Timberwolves are over the cap regardless of their free agents.

    Minnesota Timberwolves Team Salary

    [IMG]New Orleans Pelicans

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($1.1 million, $507k)

Cap Holds: Omer Asik ($12.6 million), Norris Cole ($5.1 million), Jeff Withey ($1.1 million – R), Luke Babbitt ($947k), Alexis Ajinca ($947k), Jimmer Fredette ($947k), Dante Cunningham ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: Toney Douglas ($1.2 million)

Maximum Cap Space: $8.2 million, RE

Note: The Pelicans would lose Asik and Cole to gain a reasonable but not maximum cap slot, which seems unlikely.

    New Orleans Pelicans Team Salary

    [IMG]New York Knicks

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($6.0 million, $3.6 million, $2.6 million, $1.9 million, $1.3 million)

Cap Holds: Andrea Bargnani ($17.3 million), Alexey Shved ($6.2 million – R), Jason Smith ($3.9 million), Shane Larkin ($1.7 million), Quincy Acy ($1.2 million – R), Travis Wear ($1.0 million – R), Lance Thomas ($947k), Lou Amundson ($947k), Cole Aldrich ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: Ricky Ledo ($947k), Langston Galloway ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $28.3 million, RE

Note: If the Knicks make Shved restricted, their cap room shrinks from the max to $22.6 million.

    New York Knicks Team Salary

    [IMG]Oklahoma City Thunder

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($1.3 million, $915k, $861k)

    Cap Holds: Enes Kanter ($11.4 million – R), Kyle Singler ($2.7 million – R)

    Non-Guaranteed: Luke Ridnour ($2.8 million)

Note: The bigger issue for the Thunder is avoiding the luxury tax.

    Oklahoma City Thunder Team Salary

    [IMG]Orlando Magic

    Current: $12.9 million, RE

Cap Holds: Tobias Harris ($6 million), Ben Gordon ($5.4 million, once waived), Kyle O’Quinn ($1.2 million), Willie Green ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: Dewayne Dedmon ($947k), Devyn Marble ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $28.3 million, RE

Note: The Magic are expected to waive Gordon’s non-guaranteed $4.5 million to get to $12.9 million in cap initially.

    Orlando Magic Team Salary

    [IMG]Philadelphia 76ers

    Current: $29.5 million, RE

Cap Holds: Jason Richardson ($9.9 million), Luc Richard Mbah a Moute ($8.3 million), Thomas Robinson ($4.7 million), Henry Sims ($1.2 million – R), Glenn Robinson III ($1.0 million – R), Ish Smith ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Robert Covington ($1.0 million), Isaiah Canaan ($947k, $758k guaranteed), Hollis Thompson ($947k), Jakarr Sampson ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $33.4 million, RE

Note: In recent years, the 76ers have used their cap room to take on other teams’ unwanted salary in exchange for youth and draft considerations.

    Philadelphia 76ers Team Salary

    [IMG]Phoenix Suns

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPE ($4.5 million)

Cap Holds: Marcus Thornton ($12.9 million), Brandan Wright ($9.5 million), Brandon Knight ($8.9 million – R), Gerald Green ($6.7 million), Earl Barron ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Jon Leuer ($1.0 million), Jerel McNeal ($947k)

Maximum Cap Space: $21.1 million, RE

Note: The Suns may not go under the cap to keep Knight, Wright and others.

    Phoenix Suns Team Salary

    [IMG]Portland Trail Blazers

Current: No space, MLE, TPEs ($3.2 million, $720k)

Cap Holds: LaMarcus Aldridge ($18.8 million), Arron Afflalo ($11.6 million), Wesley Matthews ($10.9 million), Robin Lopez ($9.2 million), Joel Freeland ($5.7 million – R), Dorell Wright ($4.1 million), Alonzo Gee ($947k)

Non/Partially-Guaranteed: Chris Kaman ($5.0 million), Allen Crabbe ($947k), Tim Frazier ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $42.5 million, RE

Note: The Blazers may have more cap room than any team in the league, but only if Aldridge leaves in free agency.

    Portland Trail Blazers Team Salary

    [IMG]Sacramento Kings

    Current: No space, MLE, TPEs ($2.1 million, $1.2 million, $915k, $619k, $228k)

Cap Holds: Derrick Williams ($12.7 million), Andre Miller ($8.8 million), Reggie Evans ($3.4 million), Ryan Hollins ($947k), Omri Casspi ($947k)

Non-Guaranteed: Ray McCallum ($947k), Eric Moreland ($845k), David Stockton ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $9.1 million, RE

Note: The Kings are on the border of trimming down for cap room or staying over. Shedding Williams would be the first step toward space.

    Sacramento Kings Team Salary

    [IMG]San Antonio Spurs

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Tim Duncan ($15.5 million), Manu Ginobili ($10.5 million), Danny Green ($7.6 million), Kawhi Leonard ($7.2 million – R), Cory Joseph ($5.1 million – R), Aron Baynes ($3.9 million – R), Marco Belinelli ($3.7 million), Jeff Ayres ($2.4 million), Matt Bonner ($947k)

    Non-Guaranteed: Reggie Williams ($1.2 million)

Maximum Cap Space: $28.8 million, RE

Note: The Spurs’ realistic maximum number should be $22.6 million, which includes Leonard’s cap hold. Additionally it assumes both Livio Jean-Charles and Nikola Milutinov play overseas. Duncan and Ginobili’s cap holds dictate they’d either need to be re-signed first or renounced outright.

    San Antonio Spurs Team Salary

    [IMG]Toronto Raptors

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($6.4 million, $3.4 million, $2.4 million)

Cap Holds: Amir Johnson ($10.5 million), Landry Fields ($9.4 million), Chuck Hayes ($8.9 million), Lou Williams ($8.2 million), Tyler Hansbrough ($4.3 million), Greg Stiemsma ($947k)

Maximum Cap Space: $21.7 million, RE

Note: The Raptors have to decide on players like Johnson and Williams, but could be a dark horse threat on the free agent market.

    Toronto Raptors Team Salary

    [IMG]Utah Jazz

    Current: No space, MLE, BAE

Cap Holds: Jeremy Evans ($3.4 million), Joe Ingles ($1.0 million – R)

Non/Partially-Guaranteed: Trevor Booker ($4.8 million, $250k guaranteed), Chris Johnson ($981k), Elijah Millsap ($845k), Bryce Cotton ($845k), Jack Cooley ($845k)

Maximum Cap Space: $16.6 million, RE

Note: The Jazz will likely climb under the cap, but may not be a big spender regardless. The big question ahead is Booker’s contract.

    Utah Jazz Team Salary

    [IMG]Washington Wizards

Current: No space, MLE, BAE, TPEs ($4.6 million, $2.3 million)

Cap Holds: Kevin Seraphin ($7.4 million), Paul Pierce ($6.4 million), Rasual Butler ($947k), Drew Gooden ($947k), Will Bynum ($947k)

Note: The Wizards have to make a decision this summer on a potential Bradley Beal extension.

Sorry, had been drinking when I posted this.

Think I thought it was 1 AM PST, making it 4 AM EST, and I was impressed that you were posting about the Cavs at 4 AM EST. Though it may not have been 1 AM PST.

I know LBJ wants to keep his options open and he likes to motivate the front office. But, I can't help but wonder if him locking in on a contract for next year would help the front office recruit.

The problem with a Haywood trade is that there aren't a lot of teams that have what the Cavs need and are in position to clear cap space to make a run at someone. It's realistically 5 teams.

    San Antonio: Splitter & Mills
    Indiana: Hibbert and Stuckey
Memphis: Jeff Green & Beno Udrih
Sacramento: Derrick Williams & Ray McCallum
    Washington: Nene & Sessions

I'm not sure any of those teams beyond SA are looking to clear cap space. It's more likely to me that they are the 3rd wheel in a trade somewhere down the line to make salaries work.

Give me Splitter, Mills, Mo Williams, Mike Dunleavy, resign everyone but JR and Delly and we've got a stew.

Obviously not resigning Kendrick or Marion

You have to convince one of Mo or Dunleavy to play for the league minimum.

Cavaliers Rumors: Rounding Up Latest on Brendan Haywood Trade and Free Agency

When it comes to free agency, there is, without question, no team more interesting than the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Rebuilding giants like the Los Angeles Lakers and teams that seem ready to gamble it all like the Houston Rockets are worth a look, sure.

Then there are the Cavaliers, a team with LeBron James and Kevin Love as free agents. Both trips to market could be mere formalities, but for a team that just missed out on a championship due to depth issues, it would be unwise to ignore the fact that so many of the team's players aren't under contract.

Below, let's take a look at the latest surrounding the market's most interesting team.

    The Iman Shumpert Sweepstakes

    [IMG]Kathy Kmonicek/Associated Press
Iman Shumpert played 38 games for the Cavaliers after coming over from the New York Knicks, averaging just 7.2 points on 24.2 minutes.

Things got more serious for the veteran in the playoffs, as he started all 16 games, deployed as a defender meant to fluster opposing players. He plays the role well, which is why the Cavaliers extended him an offer, per the Associated Press (via ESPN.com).

It doesn't make anything final, of course.

According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, it looks like the Cavaliers will have some serious competition for the Georgia Tech product:

Cleveland can match any offer, but it might not find itself in a position to go crazy with so many other players out on the market.

The list of suitors makes sense, too. Los Angeles wouldn't mind a defensive stopper next to rookie D'Angelo Russell. The Dallas Mavericks don't have much in the way of a shooting guard but plenty of offense at other spots.

If the Cavaliers want Shumpert, it looks like the market will force them into a serious fight.

    Mo's Return?

    [IMG]Chuck Burton/Associated Press
It sounds like the Cavaliers might go for a good old-fashioned reunion, bringing on former point guard Mo Williams to run again with James.

Williams has been all over the place since leaving the Cavaliers, playing with five different teams. Per Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com, though, it sounds like his trip around the Association will end:

    It makes too much sense.

Take away the friendship between Williams and James. Even take away his experience with the organization. What the Cavaliers need behind Kyrie Irving is a scoring point, an upgrade on Matthew Dellavedova.

Williams fits. In 27 games with the Charlotte Hornets last year, the 32-year-old guard showed he can still score at a solid clip, averaging 17.2 points per game.

Coming off the bench would provide a major boost to the Cavaliers in the depth department, so look for both parties to try to get something done.

Cavaliers big man Brendan Haywood was the center of trade rumblings for most of this past season due to his contract.

Haywood appeared in only 22 games with the team on an average just north of five minutes per game, so teams around the league aren't trading for him based on what he has to offer in the depth department.

No, any trade buzz concerns Haywood's non-guaranteed contract. Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News reported the San Antonio Spurs are one team perhaps interested in striking a deal:

As for the actual numbers, Haywood's contract represents a $10.5 million cap hit next season, per Spotrac.com, should a team decide to keep him on a roster.

Many around the Association should be ringing up the Cavaliers right now. The Spurs make a lot of sense, as they could make the deal, waive Haywood and then go after a big-name free agent with the newfound cap space.

The hiccup is what the Cavaliers want in return. If San Antonio or some other team doesn't offer enough, Haywood isn't going anywhere. This, of course, could have a major impact on where the biggest free agents on the market sign due to cap situations around the league.

Did anyone mention the Cavaliers are the most interesting team in free agency?

Thank God we have an owner who is willing to pay to compete. People can say what they want about Dan, but he's trying to bring a championship to Cleveland.

Not crazy about the TT deal but it was a foregone conclusion with the business relationship between him and LeBron.

Can't wait to see what this team does the next 5 years.

If TT can add strength and get better at rim protecting, once Mozgov leaves stick him at the 5 and the future is set if league keeps getting smaller.

I'm not sure who they package with him. I don't think Diaw is a choice as he's a long-term contract and they already have a crowded from court.
