not saying we could get thibs but to not even give it some time and bring him in for an interview is pretty stupid it's not like Skiles is some can't miss coach
Orlando Sentinel says Hennigan only met with four candidates face to face: Skiles, Woodson, Mark Jackson, and Hoiberg. Of those four, I'd probably rank them Hoiberg then Skiles then the other two retards in terms of who I'd want, but I doubt Hoiberg was even a serious candidate. He probably was just brought in to put pressure on Chicago to fire Thibs since Fred's been linked with Chicago for a while now. We probably reached out to Thibs, but he wasn't very receptive of the idea which just leaves Skiles pretty much. I don't completely hate Skiles like I did a couple of weeks ago, but he just seems like a mediocre coach, and you know what you're going to get from him. Would have rather taken a chance on Messina to be honest even with his limited experience in the NBA (assuming Thibs didn't want the job and Messina did).
which is why i literally said "but to not even give it some time" of course he won't want to interview within 24 hours of being fired, doesn't mean you need to hire someone the next day
Then Skiles is hired elsewhere and you're down to your lower options. We don't know what was said and how dialogue went, so it's foolish to bitch about this, but the fact that the Pelicans just hired Gentry over Thibodeau should be a sign despite there being multiple reports of "mutual interest" between the 2. Not to mention, Orlando probably got a deal done so soon because New Orleans interviewed Skiles like a day and a half prior to him being named head coach. Now was this move with significant influence from ownership and Martins? Absolutely, but the constant pissing and moaning is fucking annoying. Skiles is not a horrible option
1 post within 24 hours of the hire qualifies as "constant pissing and moaning"? Having a rough weekend?
I was honestly hoping Porzingis would be the guy, but anyone who doesn't like Hezonja is a slack-jawed faggot
Synergy Sports Tech @SynergySST 56m56 minutes ago Mario Hezonja made 43% of his catch and shoot jumpers, 40% of his pull ups, and 62% finishing at rim this season. Complete package as scorer
Think West is headed for the Knicks from what I've read Id kick the tires on Ed Davis or Brandan Wright
He's going to get offered a max deal by somebody. If we match that can we really justify giving max money to a 6th man?
agreed but i even if that adjust to say $16mil, i just don't see it with him i feel like it's a move that fills an immediate position but down the long haul is just wasted salary because we aren't gonna be competing for some time anyways unless we make a big signing or trade
Eh, you have to assume guys like Payton, Oladipo, and Gordon will improve their game. Oladipo should make the big jump year, if he ever does. Adding a guy like Millsap in place of Harris improves your team on both ends of the floor and gives you a guy that can actually score consistently. Not to mention, I think it'll help Oladipo tremendously in that he won't have to carry the same load offensively. If Millsap comes in, there's no reason why Orlando shouldn't compete for at the very least an 8 seed (assuming no major injuries). Then assume in 4 years after his deal runs up, Gordon should be primed to run as the full time PF.
Michael Scotto @MikeAScotto 21m21 minutes ago Paul Millsap is leaning towards signing with the Atlanta Hawks, a league source tells Sheridan Hoops.
i assume he is but is this mario dude actually coming to the NBA this year or no? Fran has forever tainted my view on foreigners
Yes, he's already reached a buyout agreement with Barcelona and is getting introduced at a press conference tomorrow at 1 along with Tyler Harvey.
Said it in the NBA thread, but we also got CJ Watson for 3/15. I like this roster a lot, guys. Except Channing Frye.
So apparently Aaron Gordon had his jaw broken by his brother and he's having surgery. What the fuck. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...vering-from-fractured-jaw-20150717-story.html
If you get bored watching college football, Croatian Kobe is playing against Slovenia at 3 on espn3. Also, Fournier and France play Finland at the same time and on espn3 as well.
Text I got from a buddy yesterday "I can't believe Tobias Harris is making 16 million a year". I don't understand why we kept him either
No one to replace him with He also gives them a ton of versatility in terms of lineups. After the salary cap jumps, his contract won't be all that bad.
Not a bad showing tonight. I'm excited about the future. Only thing I was disappointed in was Harris not taking it right at Humphries more. Zero chance that he could keep up with Tobias off the dribble. Hezonja is gonna be a stud, though
