HMP and DD gone. Should have dismissed Hanner after the DUI instead of benching him for a few games Hopefully these dismissals get the message across
Cornelius Suttree how good is Femi? Like good enough to make it on the USA national team? I know nothing about soccer but he grew up across the street from my best friend. He was 3-4 years younger than us and we used to beat up on him in backyard sports, so it is pretty cool to see him doing well. And yeah I'll take some credit for him becoming such a good athlete
He'll play MLS but I don't know about USMNT. I doubt it but who knows he may develop a bunch since he's so athletic and physically blessed
6th place finish in the B1G for Lemonis in year one, 32-20 overall. Sucks two B1G games got rained out because we might well have ended up in a 4-way tie for 3rd had we gotten to 14-10 instead of the 12-10 mark we're stuck with
Four IU representatives will compete for the US at the 2016 World Championships in Kazan, Russia Former All-American Amy Cozad and rising sophomore Jessica Parratt finished 1-2 in the platform competition and rising junior Michael Hixon and former All-American Darian Schmidt went 1-2 on the 3-meter springboard Rising sophomore James Connor will represent Australia in the World Championships Between the men and women combined, IU track and field has 7 pole vault titles in the last 8 years

Looks like it'll be a banner year as far as the number of B1G teams in the NCAA baseball tournament and we seen to have played our way in despite a semifinal exit in the B1G tourney I bet IU will be in Louisville or Nashville Tracy Smith built a program with staying power
up to 50% off a good selection of IU gear through 5/28 http://www.indianauniversitystore.com/Indiana_Hoosiers/on_sale/yes
#3 seed in the Nashville Regional playing Radford fucking hard draw but getting in during the first year of the Lemonis era is awesome. Three straight years in the field with four in the last seven years. First B1G program to go three straight times since 2008. The conference has to love this baseball program so much: first to get to Omaha in ages, opened an awesome facility and then we were a national seed and then we proved able to sustain a high level of success by making the tournament a year later. This after being the only school with three kids taken in the top 100 in the 09 draft and making the tournament that season. We went from 1949 to 1996 without making the tourney and have now been in 09/13/14/15
I'm here because I fucking love The Indiana University at Bloomington. Love the town, school, and girls. It's all great and easily my 2nd favorite B1G university.
USA Diving named IU head diving coach Drew Johansen the head coach of Team USA in the upcoming 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia
Up to 50% off IU gear at link below. Sale ends tomorrow. The Adidas tri-blend t-shirts are so comfortable http://www.indianauniversitystore.com/Indiana_Hoosiers/on_sale/yes
Two IU professors are staying with my parents for a few days. The husband in the couple was vice chancellor in Bloomington back in the day so he hears everything. Just had a nice dinner with them where he told some scary stories about Kevin Wilson's alcoholism and how it was a major issue early in his tenure. I really want him to do well this year because that offense can be soooo sick and it sounds like he has really worked to become a better person in the past few years
Wilson being a booze hound was the worst kept secret in town a few years back. Would hit the bar after practice a lot of the time.
Recap from the World University Games Spoiler In the moments after victory, former IU swimmer Lindsay Vrooman did not visibly celebrate. She did not show much emotion at all. The former All-American grabbed the ledge to catch her breath with nothing more than a partial smile on her face after winning the gold medal in the 800-meter freestyle at the World University games in Gwangju, South Korea. Despite hovering around third place for the first two minutes, Vrooman took the lead at the 200-meter mark and never gave it back to finish with a time of 8:26.67. She defeated Italy’s Martina Caramignoli by less than two seconds. Vrooman’s time puts her in the top-10 in the world this year for the 800-meter. The gold medal in the 800 was not all she accomplished, though. Vrooman also won silver medals in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:07.28 and the 1,500-meter freestyle with 16:13.85. A seven-time Big Ten champion for IU, Vrooman’s three medal-winning times were all personal bests for her. Vrooman was not the lone medalist for current or former IU swimmers. Freshman Lilly King won two medals herself, one of which was a silver medal in the 100-meter breaststroke. The other came as a part of the U.S. 400-meter medley relay team that earned a bronze medal. She swam the breaststroke leg of the relay. King also placed eighth in the 50-meter freestyle. IU Coach Ray Looze was the head coach for the U.S. swimming team. Also, junior Anze Tavcar swam for Slovenia and recent graduate Justine Reiss competed for France. The U.S. brought home 33 total medals at the World University Games, 15 of which were gold. This breaks the previous U.S. best of 27 total medals set in 2007. http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/07/former-hoosier-wins-gold-at-world-university-games
I'm so stoked to be in town all day Wednesday. Can't wait to walk all over campus and be in awe of the beauty Remember to go see Ex Hex at The Bishop Wednesday if you're around
Picked up my friend in Louisville on the way up here and he has been blown away by the campus so far. He went to UGA and seems a bit in awe right now Flags at half-staff by Sample Gates
stoked to see this new Adidas deal, I love them. It's apparently the fifth largest apparel deal in collegiate athletics http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/08/iuathletics-extends-apparel-agreement-with-adidas "The eight-year agreement is worth $53.6 million and runs through 2024. Adidas will almost double its original annual commitment to IU from $3.7 million to $6.7 million." With the quotes from Yeagley in this IDS article, if we don't finish top two in the B1G I am going to be writing Glass as soon as the season ends http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/08/iu-soccer-with-plenty-of-depth-after-first-practice we dropped an exhibition contest to Valpo last night, 2-1. We have two more vs WMU and Marquette before SJU and ND in the Adidas/IU Credit Union Classic. SR Brown transfer Ben Maurey scored the lone goal, he's like 6'5. After taking a lead in the 33rd minute, we yielded goals in the 64th and 86th minutes. Not really concerned with the result because soccer is one of the few sports that is allowed preseason exhibition contests and kids aren't charged with seasons of competition for playing in them so I bet we used a liberal approach to subs. Prior to the game there was a 45-minute informal scrimmage we won 3-0 Tanner Thompson and Grant Lillard () getting some preseason All-American hype http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/2015-tds-di-mens-preseason-best-xi_aid36951
My two favorite players on the team account for both goals tonight. Billy McConnell apparently had one off the post Sam Beishuizen @Sam_Beishuizen FINAL: Indiana defeats Western Michigan 2-0. Lillard/Femi get the goals. Webb/Lomelli combine for the shutout Lillard's was in the 53rd minute. Femi's in the 75th off a cross from freshman Rees Wederburn. He played for the West Bromich Albion U21 squad. He has been with West Bromich since he was 12 tonight's game was played at Memorial since Bill Armstrong's field is apparently unplayable at the moment
2-0 W in the final exhibition vs Marquette R-JR Akron transfer Phil Fives with the first goal on an assist from McConnell about 11 minutes into the contest and then two freshmen combined for the second one with Bloomington native Jeremiah Gutjahr dishing out an assist to Manhattan Beach, CA product Tim Mehl good job by Glass to get the Louisville basketball series done, can't say I like the football series too much but whatever as long as we got the series done on the hardwood it doesn't matter http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/08/louisville-series MBB: 12/31/2016: @ Bankers Life Fieldhouse 12/9/2017: @ KFC Yum Center 12/8/2018: @ Assembly Hall FB: 9/16/2023: @ Lucas Oil 9/7/2024: @ Papa John's Cardinal Stadium 9/6/2025: @ Memorial
I'm really tempted to come up Sunday for the game with Notre Dame and then Colleen Green at The Bishop that night Oh and go figure we have more off-season arrests in basketball. A sport with among the fewest total athletes giving us the most trouble... Holt and Bryant cited for underage consumption http://www.insidethehall.com/2015/0...ed-for-illegal-alcohol-possession/#more-48850
sounds like it was complete horseshit by an excise cop...those 2 were in a car at a convenience store with 3 other people in the car and there was 2 water bottles of vodka present and they got cited...not driving, blew 0s, asshole cop trying to make a point...fuck that
McRobbie is clearly fed up with the non-stop negative headlines our basketball program is creating Good for him. It's not fair every other coaching staff had to have the riot act read to them because of a program with among the fewest total number of athletes in the department though It is staggering that men's basketball would have the most off-field issues since 2010 given the tiny numbers they work with and the history we have. The lack of discipline reflected by our ridiculous turnover rates in recent years is not just a symptom of a fast-paced offense, it is symptomatic of the culture Crean has created http://mobile.sportingnews.com/arti...-tom-crean-fire-michael-mcrobbie-iu-president Colleen Green is going to be sick, hopefully we take both W's this weekend
The overreaction to 2 kids getting minor possession tickets while not even being drunk is fucking hilarious and exhibit 1A why a lot of our fans need to get the stick outta their asses. Sparty had 2 kids get DUIs this spring/summer and all that happened to them was they weren't allowed to play during an Italy trip that they still went on.
if you aren't willing to admit there is a major lack of discipline and leadership within the basketball program then you are just delusional. The arrest total for one program with fewer than 15 scholarships in a span of 18 months is only slightly lower (by fucking two) than the arrest total for the rest of the athletics department going all the way back to 2010. That is absolutely mind blowing and it should be incredibly embarrassing to everyone within the IU fan base for the President of a major research institute to do what he did in the presence of all coaching staff members the other day....I mean come the fuck on, that is unheard of in intercollegiate athletics. We have a reputation for having outstanding student-athletes on and off the playing surfaces. It is not fair to the school to have a shitty coach making the entire national conversation about IU revolve around the non-stop disciplinary cases involving kids he has recruited thankfully we only have one more fucking year of this embarrassing bullshit 1-0 win over St John's in the men's soccer season opener with Akron transfer Phil Fives netting the goal off an assist from Brown transfer Ben Maurey. Maurey is going to serve a Zavaleta-esque role for us by playing with his back to the net and serving as a distributor. So stoked to see us play ND in person on Sunday (2 PM ET on BTN)
Well since seeing us win it all in 2012 I have now attended 3 straight losses This one with just under a minute left in the second OT period as ND wins 1-0
my sister's bff's brother plays for ND so my parents went up there to watch the game with her, said it was a pretty tough L
walking through the Northwest RPS neighborhood and passing Briscoe, McNutt and Foster on a Sunday morning Damn that made me miss college. Leaving town is a painful experience, I need to learn to not be so sheepishly sentimental Spoiler Woodburn Hall I had my first class at IU on the very top floor of Kirkwood Hall about 10 years and one week ago
Edit: Posted before reading. It's a really, really bad Buzzfeed article on why it's great to be a Hoosier. Deleting link. Not worthy.
Sucks that Wilson is out. Really liked the way the program was heading. Back to Back Bowl appearances and beat Purdue 4 years running.
Surely it has to be more than just alcohol? Indiana put up with Bob knight, they can't be THAT damn conservative of a state.
His not getting along with our AD was tied to his 2 DUIs, tendency to go get hammered with students at local bars, and just being a crass asshole in general. I'm sure the player treatment here was just the cherry on top for Fred Glass.
I for one enjoyed that photo dump Cornelius Suttree , well done Sounds like we started at IU at the same time
Lol why would a coach with a contract like that be going out to student bars. Where would he hang out? And get a damn Uber
Loved me some Upstairs Pub. T'was the old stomping ground. Saw h.e.pennypacker spit game at some chicks once there, then fall off the bar stool he was so drunk.
