This thread is relevant to my interest. A friend of mine who's a major horror buff saw "The Green Inferno" and said it made him physically ill. He said there were scenes in it that really make you question if you're watching a movie or a documentary and watching people actually get murdered. I've been looking everywhere online but I can't wait to watch it when I do find it.
Stuff like that is crazy because it did and does happen in real life. Hell, it happened to one of the Rockafellars. They ate him too.
Speaking of Eli Roth, really enjoyed Clown. Sidenote on Roth, apparently he's going to be directing Meg. One of my favorite books when i was a teen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meg:_A_Novel_of_Deep_Terror#Film http://www.people.com/article/eli-roth-direct-mega-shark-movie-meg
Yea that shit is insane. I've always wanted to go to the Amazon or just the rainforests in general but I think after seeing the movie I may be changing my mind on that.
Those are actual natives of that village too in the movie. Read an interview and he said they would laugh about them letting him do the gore stuff. They're all farmers. Fiji is supposedly still dangerous in some areas.
That's awesome they'd allow them to do that. Probably the most exciting shit to happen to them in their lifetime. Yea I've read a little about Fiji. Seems pretty dangerous for outsiders coming in in certain areas.
Yeah, he said they were all fine with it. He said that all got paid 10 times what they normally make in a year.
Papua New Guinea is generally considered to be the last area where cannibalism may still be a practice amongst native tribes.
yeah, no clue about Fiji. I heard that from someone who went there for vacation and it could easily just be someone fucking with them or he just made it up himself.
Corpse, cult, and eyes are way better than town. I'm on school now and it's started out good as well. I imagine they just get better. I'm a huge Lovecraft fan and these remind me of his stories with their single person narrative confession style.
Since I have no internet at the moment I'll be watching The Gallows tonight. heard mixed things about it.
The Gallows was alright. A bit predictable at times but has a nice twist to finish it all off. Not bad. Not great. But it's worth a watch.
Serial is the only podcast I've ever really listed to (loved it), but I just listened to Knifepoint Horror. It was "Chasm" – the one about the sinkhole – and it was fucking awful. I'll probably give a few of the others a try though.
New one. I grabbed it a few months ago and never watched it. Figure I'll give it a shot. The trailer looks good. Probably Gonna watch The Houses October Built too.
They do a good job of tying in the first movie. It's not a remake, more of a part 2. Probably gonna try Babadook tonight when the wife inevitably passes out at around 9.
That sucks. I started at the beginning, and have now listened to Town, Corpse, and Cult and have thoroughly enjoyed them all.
Just got a Lovecraft collection(The Road to Madness: The Transition of H.P. Lovecraft). Absolutely loving it.
Been listening to the podcasts while walking my dog each evening. They are entertaining enough. I've been going in order since the beginning. Thought eyes was good, as was trail and town and corpse. Skipped over to lake, because it would fit into my car ride tonight. Wasn't as good as the others, but good enough. Will probably try to listen to all of them over the next 2 weeks because why not. I don't expect to be scared shitless during them, but a couple of them are creepy enough for what they are. I like the narrative and the story telling is pretty good. I imagine those in this thread would find it a good way to pass the time to and from work.
I put my headphones in and listen to them at work. Scares the shit out of me when someone walks up behind me and taps on my shoulder because they need to talk to me. The worst is when I turn around and beat them to the tap so they're just there.
Watched conjuring last night. Still creeps me out. Was going to watch Annabelle tomorrow. Is it worth the watch? Dolls and shit freak me out.
Saw Green Inferno last week. It was super fucking disgusting. One part did make me chuckle: Spoiler Environmentalist girl slits her throat after finding out she just ate a stew made from her friend. The survivors had some bud they had saved from before they were captured and put it down the girl's throat. The natives then cook her and get stoned. The stoner survivor gets tripped up and wakes up to two baked natives laughing at him. He then screams "OH FUCK THEY GOT THE MUNCHIES." and they proceed to eat him alive.
Babadook was pretty damn good. That fucking book was creepy as hell. And I've listened to about ten knifepoint horrors now. Big fan. I feel like the main storyteller sounds exactly like Christian bale when he does an American accent.
My wife told me she was going to get her nails done and i was listening to eyes while doing some housework. The salon was closed, so she came home unexpectedly and I screamed like a little girl when she opened the door.
I've made it through rehearsal so far. I typically listen to them twice though, so I'm taking a little longer to get through. Generally listen while I'm taking an after dinner walk, and that certainly adds to the mood.
Save yourself the trouble and skip plague. I made it about halfway through before giving up on possibly the worst voice actor I've ever heard. It's basically him talking and taking huge breaths in between every few words.
